  • I Love Marriage! I Got Married Young.. Was for ten years! Got divorced! Swore never again! Met my second wife, but I still swore never again! Then, 5 years later, I got smart and married my better half. I finally got it right. That was over 25 years ago. I can define my love with this statement... "I love her more every day" no matter what she does. NO MATTER WHAT SHE DOES! I will live for her till the day she dies.... And then my heart will break and I will follow. Best Wishes to you Lisa! :)

  • we've been married for 31 years and we were childhood sweethearts so it is possible even in this day to go the distance. We are quite different but accept the complementarity. I would say run from a violent person that harms you... and even then things can be patched up ... but you need tough love and for me at least God has to be there.

  • I never got married, Lisa... Vows and oaths don't mean much to me. I believe in being with someone you want to be with. When you no longer want to be together you go your separate ways. People make mistakes. People change. This is especially true when people are young. I would never expect myself to stick to something today that may have been relevant twenty-five years ago. People grow together or they grow apart whether or not they are married...

  • When marriages are hi-lited in the media they tend to go out of whack but I believe in traditional marriage.

  • Marriage has always been a legal contract between two families, joining their finances into a partnership. Religion and Romance are a very important part of marriage to many, but that does not change that it is basically a business arrangement. 'Traditional Marriage' is just a term used to discriminate. If we were to look at true traditional marriage, it would include dowry's and arranged marriages of children. Marriage for love is a new concept. (Not that I am saying that is a bad thing.)

  • Why buy the cow if you can get the milk for free. Marriage is a great institution.........If you like living in an institution. :) Im single and happy.

  • @MrJohnnyrace was someone giving away free milk? in this economy? Must be a loss leader of some kind:)

  • @LisaJMoore Yes it is. They get you into the store to buy other things. Rings, cars, etc.

  • I've never been married, and the only woman I ever loved wanted nothing to do with me. Therefore, I'm entirely unqualified to respond in any form to these discussion points.

  • @drewnetwork She must have been some woman Drew....

  • My parent's marriage lasted until my mothers death. All the past generations on the paternal side of my family have been and continue to be faithful to one another. It's only with our generation that divorces took place, but there were very few. The maternal side of my family have passed away in tragic circumstances. I am, and expect to stay, single. I suspect marriages breakup due to intolerance, and because our system makes it easy to do so.

  • As western culture shifts more and more from a 'religious' society to a secular society, I think we are going to see more confusion about the role of marriage. In the west at least, marriage has always been seen as a sacrament/institution of the church, whereby people are making a vow before GOD and their neighbours that they are going to be faithful to one person. As we privatize our lives, and marginalize God, marriage is now between two ppl. that we can take or leave depending on how we FEEL.

  • @TheMinisterofDefence Well, I was addressing this from a christian perspective and really want to know the breaking point...

  • @LisaJMoore I see. Ok, I am wondering, are you asking from a theological position, what are the legitimate or acceptable justifications for divorce? I'm just trying to be clear here, as the video seemed a bit ambiguous to me in terms of what you are asking, sorry, just trying to clarify.

  • @TheMinisterofDefence YES I am!
