I'm 5'8" and I've never really trained for it specifically. It came after doing lots of strength work with crosses, OAC, and other stuff.
But it depends on your weight... you can definitely achieve it though if you work hard consistently. Eccentrics from inverted hang down to hang tend to be the best from my experience.

Former. All of the strength I have obtained was after I quit competitive gymnastics when I was a kid.

How tall are you? I'm asking because I'm 6'3 and I would like to learn the front lever as well. How long did it take you?
