1- The pilot is talented - that is a pretty cool and long stall :) - but all the talent in the world can't beat the laws of gravity.
2- if it was a crash - It would've made the news - This was an international airshow...

it´s surely no crash, because the plane changes the position before the end.
So the pilot have had the control about the plane.

I was at an airshow many years ago, where a pilot lost his thinking while such a trottle-figure. He trottle till the ground and lost his life.
unfurtnately it crashed it gives throttle but cant control and I m sure that he couldnt land in this position or it make a hard land but so hard

I might be able to tell you, it looks like a Super Steerman that I used to see over Half Moon Bay all the time back in the mid 90's.
Saw this trick many times.

I'm a airshow enthusaist, I bet it did some low knife edge passes to land, it did not crash.
