  • lol, a textbook "are you thinking what I'm thinking" moment

  • that explosion would of done some damage at least to the earths atmosphere lol

  • To bad the the trilogy this movie originally was intended to be got cancelled.

From what i could read they had set it up to be quite interesting.

I suppose they could still do it if they went for directly to DVD.

As for the Series both Stargate SG1 and Atlantis was great BUT the latest Stargate Universe is one of the most crappy series EVER.

Ok so you want it to be about the persons rather then just action fine then have interesting persons in it because at the moment you do not.

  • well the towers are interesting

  • Well its he she is a beautiful actor would be a waste

  • say cheese :)

  • grinzz

  • MC you got OWNED

  • rude just think its not the end :)

  • well the picture is funny

  • thats because those mutant sg-1 freaks are to dumb to understand the movie and the series are completely unrelated

in the film ra was the last of his race and a humanoid alien who transferd his soul into the egyptian boy according to the novel cos his own body was dying

  • He'll be okay. Just a flesh wound.

  • There is one problem with the series The Goa´uld are shown to be worms.

HOWEVER when Ra is shown in his final scene he reverts back not into the worm but the alien seen in brief flashback.

So in a way it could be said that making Ra a Goa´uld was a mistake or making the Goa´uld worm might have been the real mistake here.

  • The trading card game retconned his original host to be an asgard.

  • That makes sense HOWEVER Ra got a new host so why would he in that instance where he´s about to die change back into the first host??

From what can gather its never explained in the tv-series and most fans think that it might have something to do with an artistic license or something like that.

  • I think when they originally made the movie, the idea of the worm-parasite Goa'uld wasn't in the design for the story. It might have come later, when they were developing the TV series. The idea most likely came from an early concept that was rejected for the movie, or it was adapted from the scene where Ra's history is revealed and he was described as a "parasite".

  • Artistic license is the wrong term, for this was conceived before the TV series had been conceptualized.

In this older version, the alien was "melded"/merged into the human body, and he was the last of his race. This scene shows the alien leaving the host body and attempting to escape.

The TV series changed everything in the story, rendering most of the original material irrelevant.

The better term would be "adaptation changes."

  • Hard to say, and quite likely not a mistake. The writers couldn't imagine how this human-sized creature could possess and reside within a human body, and they thought that the idea of a serpentine parasite was more plausible.

Also, it allowed them to make Ra's kind numerous and work within the framework of "funny-voiced, glowing-eyed people" that was quite in vogue back then, and the story structure they had in mind.

  • What's the name of this music?

  • Aww! Too bad they decided to kill Ra off, cause 6 seconds is enough time to re activate the rings and send it right back down lol

  • "WHAT THE FUCK !?" *BOOOOM!!!!*

  • haha mcowned!

  • haha! McOwned. That's funny to me, because the guy that plays Col. Jack in the show totally was the same guy that played MacGyver. Lol.

  • I wonder why RA became so bright just before the explosion?

  • For movie effect, the movie has a lot of inconsistencies with the series.

  • Don't you mean the series has a lot of inconsistencies with the movie?

  • Idiot, the series was born from the movie. How the fuck can you say the movie is inconsistant.

Stupid retarded nerd series. STARGATE MOVIE FTW.

  • I meant when you compared them side by side, seeing as though there is a lot more story behind the series. I probably did word it wrong but you dont have to get angry about it.

  • I didnt bad mouth the movie, i think it's great. In fact i think they are planning on creating another one soon.

  • Are you talking about further DVD movies for SG-1 and SGA, or the oft-proposed "Original" sequels? If it is former, then you are right.

If its the latter, it looks like those will never be made. No official word has appeared since 2006, and MGM has a history of rejecting Devlin's attempts. MGM appears to prefer their TV franchise to making those risky sequels.

We may like the movie, but a lot of people don't. Many critics have panned it, and most people hate Devlin's and Emmerich's work.

  • And critics can kiss my ass....

    Seriously...

  • You idiot... ITS THE SERIES THAT ARE MAJORLY INNACCURATE!! I hate all the series, Ra is not a goauld he's powerfully psionic and telepathic read the books! And also a really ancient alien. the books written by Bill McCay may be innacurate with what Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin want; but its a far better universe than SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe. Anyone who hates the series which bastardized the movie please give this a thumbs up Khonsu the Killer Rules!

  • He was showing his "True alien form"

Stargate was originally supposed to be a trilogy, but they never made the rest. instead they made the TV show, and the TV show made up the idea of the Goa'uld. So in the movie, they didn't have the idea of the Goa'uld yet, so That glowing thing was his true form.

  • @Rrmlsou according to Emmerich & Devlin He was showing his true Alien form!

  • @Rrmlsou He was leaving the boy's body and becoming ethereal so he could take another host. that's far better than a pathetic little snake called a goa'uld. He was destroyed because the process was too long.

  • @Rrmlsou He was showing his true form? remember the scene when he was explaining his origin... the bright scary thing that possessed the boy.... that looks like a woman.

  • @Rrmlsou thats ra himself, the handsome human around was only (sadly) the host of him. when he sees the bomb he ceases from his host to flee..

  • lol, you had time to make that text picture.

  • i didnt make it
