I start the map but there are no options to choose from and I don't know what to press. The map starts and there's nothing to select and no units/buildings on the map. What am I doing wrong?
@ferdo621 Unfortunately Patch 1.1 broke the AI system in the map. I should have this fixed in a few days. The good news is the multiplayer version on battle.net still works.
I am having difficulty installing the build tester. What directory do i unzip the program files to? how do I execute your program? I apologoze for being a little slow here but I would appreciate some assistance in using this program. It looks like a great learning tool. Thank you for taking the time to create the program.
@AlleyCat071 The best thing to do is simply unzip the maps to any location and then open a map in the map editor (in the Starcraft II program files folder) and click the "Test Map" button on the far right.
@benmcntsh Thanks for the reply. I was able to get the build tester working fine. Just curious, will you be adding more maps at some point? Thank you for your help and for making this great tool available. Regards.
really great, but 1 thing i dont get, i am a fairly new player, and trying to learn some builds. but why arent there workers/probes in the build ? do u just keep making them, and how much ? and the blue minerals cost, does that mean that u build it AT that mineralrate , or is it just to let u see how much they cost/
And I was also wondering.. how can u get better with this, since you know what build the enemy uses, and even if u dont know, in a real game u SHOULD know. So if I go against zerg i almost always get rushed. If i want to practice this protoss build which depends on Dark TEmplars, well than im fucked xD So can somebody explain to me not what this program is, but HOW it should actually be used.
@RemovdSande11 That's right, it is assumed that you keep constant production of workers, but only 1 or 2 in queue at most at a time. Stop when you have about 3 workers per mineral patch. As for the mineral amount for the step, you should start building when you have that many minerals. The goal is to keep your minerals as close to zero as possible at all times.
really an amazing program. the only bug i've noticed so far is that the computers are helpless against wall-ins, especially on blistering sands. they won't even attack the buildings, only get stuck in a canyon before the base.
Sucks to hear about the listbox issue but i've started working on a libary witch hopefully will help out with that issue, once its uploaded and setup i'll have a fourm link (in libary/scripts) on sc2mapster and i'll also have a video of what I have so far. Can't work on it more today to tired to script heh, but once the vid is up here on youtube i'll post a video response as well.
Hey, I tried using your online encoder to create my own YABOT-formatted build but then I realized, as I was copying the encoded build text, that I don't have a bank file for the map. I've already run the map through the map editor once so I would've that it would exist, but I don't even have a "Banks" folder. Is there anything special I have to do to get the file and the folder? Thanks btw, awesome build order tester, keep up the good work.
@rizzelet The bank file is generated when you finish a freestyle run, or you just past in the build order into the chat. If the chat is too long, just open the bank file and edit it there. The file should be at My Documents/Starcraft II Beta/Banks/YabotSettings.SC2BANK
