Yes, I have no idea why the resulting ground (with plenty of autumn leaves) comes out as a good detailed mesh. Probably because the bench itself has a little bit of specularity that is giving the holes. While the ground leaves are totally diffused objects.
In most of my test, normally the ground (blanket, ground, stones) comes up good.
25 photos? That turned out great for the ground coverage. I took A LOT when I visited the Battleship Texas, and the model turned out okay, but I thought it was going to be more detailed than how it turned out. My model's have had a lot of holes in them. Your's looks great though, the leaves turned out fantastic!
