Geez. People are whining about the graphics. It's the frickin' NES, for christ's sake. We played the DOS version in a B&W monitor and playing this in color worked wonders for us.

If the Prince lands a hit on the mirror image, he takes damage as well. If he kills the mirror image, he kills himself as well.

Therefore, the way to defeat the mirror image is sheath your sword and run TOWARDS it.

@Piledriver86 The NES version of PoP is excellent in it's own right. It's just the SNES is slightly better because of the eyecandy and extra content.

@2105etti actually no... i know that, on the pc version, the hero ends up fighting his own mirror image, which, after that, fuses with him, thus doubling his energy points. Haven't seen it happen here, though....

This one was the first I played, when I was a kid, it was just as scary as the other versions. I'm still shocked from the first time my prince got slaughtered by the metal teeth ...! The music is a nice change from the silence, although , just like everything else in this game, is frustrating and might kill you. Lol

This isn't too bad a port of the game but I'd stick with the PC version although the megadrive port is close to perfect and the SNES version is worth playing for it's redesigned levels along with some extra ones. You also get an extra hour to beat the game and you will need it! (shame about the snes port of the second game, completely broken in every way)

I agree morfes. I always found this to be an excellent game; but if I were to ever pick a version, I'd take the PC version in a heartbeat. Why? Well, where should I begin? On second thought, I don't feel like making long lists today.

Played the pc version when it came out, truly a classic which reminds good times and many time spent on this game. Pc version is in my opinion the best version.
