who the fuck cares if the door is open??? thumbs up if you agree

use 9v batterie with a resistance of 600 Ω for a LED of 15mA

It would be so cool to just draw the components, and have that be a working circuit. I can do this for resistors, anything else is tough.

I'm not quite sure how this senario is being played out...
Do you have a magnet on the door or something?
How would you indicate that the door is open?
I'm trying to get into circuits... I'm curious.

You could mount the magnet to the door and when it's up (ie. open) reed would turn on.
Reed-switch is just two sheets of iron mounted in a closed glass container. When a magnet comes close enough the two will touch.
Elecric systems have three main sections: input, process and output.
Here input would be door being open, process would be turning on the led and output then be the led emmiting light.

may i ask what is that thing you magnetizing?

Looks to be a reed (or read) not sure of the spelling , switch

Yes the correct name is a reed switch. It acts as a switch that completes the circuit when a magnet is near it.

You should put a link on this page to the first part of you this tutorial, and a link to the second on the first.
