Skorge was not just a pope, he had power over the Kantus, and they had power over the Horde.

The Queen was at the top, so RAAM took care of the fighting, while Skorge took care of the Religious affairs. Without one another, they are incompleat. When RAAM died, Skorge had no other choice but to take controle.

besides if he did (marcus) manage to save kim (ie, shooting RAAM) and it did happen to distract RAAM and hence get kim to shoot back or retreat, he probally wouldve got shot anyway or capped by RAAM's boltok as seen earlier in the game. either way it was a good cutscene and as badass as kim is he didnt have much of a chance

well if you pause at 1:52, you can see that those locust shouldnt have been missing and marcus was open for attack as well as kim. what he should have done is try to blast the locust kim was shooting at since he was exoposed too. and/or try to warn kim about RAAM. if was marcus i would have blast those locust since shooting at RAAM would not be a good idea much less: effective.

I Think in gears 3, there should be a cutscene where you're talkin to the queen, when skorge comes in from the shadows. While he's walking towards you, the 9ft Lambant RAAM bursts through the floor and takes down Skorge. Then you have to follow the queen round the palace or were ever you are while at the same time RAAM and Skorge would randomly burst from the floor, walls etc thowing fists at each other.
