  • I mainly use might for my class because I love big weapons like hammers and greatswords. But I also have some points on sorcery so I can use the awesome staff I got from the house of valor.

  • Okay! Let me clear something up. If you are melee or like having a ton of health and mana regen and effects applied to armor which make your weapons more powerful put skill into sagecraft. It is used to make shards that apply certain effects to your weapons and armor. It makes you very powerful and practically unbeatable. Put points into Blacksmithing to make powerful armor and weapons to place ur stone into. Persuasion is good too. Today I asked a old guy for his staff. He gave it to me. lol

  • Could have been part of the story line....

  • @theawesomeness2the13 Shut up! You are high!

  • @theawesomeness2the13 Way to ruin your credibility.

  • I think the best class is the mage and to fuck things up i use the warrior as a secondary for weapons and armor, but as for skills I have to admit that sage craft, blacksmith, and hidden detect are the most useful, and with the fateweaver you can always switch things up.

  • wats the best skills for my guy? im going pure warrior might/might, blacksmithing and detect hidden are my first two picks but idk about the others, theirs sagecraft and merchantile and alchemy and persuasion, i filled 4 points in the basic persuasion tier and i have 1 point filled in basic alchemy tier and my race is almain so i started with 1 blacksmithing, 1 alchemy, 1 persuasion, pls help mee

  • hmmmm well i'm playing a mage and i have to say i never needed to buy anything i started by having 2 points in detect hidden so i can get the hidden chest's and ive'd max blacksmithing and sagecrafting to get the best armor witht he best gem's plus weapon's and for alchemy most useless skill if u are a mage and u have that healing spell

  • I built a Might/Finesse and I believe my setup is possibly the best, i crit around 5k, and i have about a 44% crit chance. My base damage is 600, my armor is 996. My Health is 994, and my mana is 402. I completed the game with lockpicking lvl 1, dispelling lvl 1, and i was able to pick up to hard locks, and use the prismere picks for very hard locks. The Dispelling of the chests is extremely easy even with lvl 2 dispelling. Blacksmithing, Detect Hidden, and Sagecraft. Are the best.

  • @blowmeh1990 That is at lvl 28

  • YOUR VOICE IS FUNNY AS HELL!

  • Alchemy has some potions you cannot buy throughout the game but again not really needed. Any crafting skills like blacksmithing and sagecraft just breaks the game since both skills work in synergy and you start killing mobs in one hit which totally wrecks combat.

Overall the most useful skills are detect hidden, persuasion, dispelling (Lv4 -that's all you need), mercantile for fast disposal of junk.

  • i got peruasion cuz i like convincing people to do what i want and i got mercantile soo i can sell a random loot from a corpse for 5timesd the value if u max it out..

  • Have you given Stealth a try yet? What a joke skill that is. I am playing a pure rogue and stealth is pointless as 90% of the mobs can see you due to their placements and sleeping mobs have 360 degree sight and can pick you up further away than the ones walking around.

Detect Hiden is a must as is Blacksmithing, if your a rogue forget stealth and just zerg the mobs with faeblades they are overpowered.

  • Just to add on, you didn't touch on sagecrafting at all.

Personally, sagecrafting is a really, really good match with blacksmithing.

Max blacksmithing to make your own armour, put sagecrafting at being able to craft epic gems, and put it at that level. Maxing it is pretty much pointless since as you said, and as I have experienced, you amass a lot of money, a lot more than you need to unsocket gems.

With max blacksmithing, you can mastercraft and insert gems into equipment.

    Awesomeness.

  • My Persuation and Mercantile are both maxed out haha. Probably gonna focus on Detect Hidden next

  • @1amRy4n Bummer, as both are completely useless. lol

  • Hey man i was wondering if you could help me out. i recently got to level 35 on my warrior and then for some reason it doesnt let me fast travel. i have been using it ever sinse i started playing but now it wont let me fast travel ANYWHERE! :((( if you could figure out how to fix this, it would be grately appreicated

  • I havent heard anyone talk about sagecraft. if your not a rogue, then its a smart idea to put your points in it. by doing so you can upgrade your armor and weapons immensely.

  • Comment removed

  • does having a high detect hidden skill let you find better loot like unique weapons more frequenly?

  • @deanwoods52 no...

    i think

  • My thoughts; Detect Hidden is a must going through the game. It needs to be maxed for lorestones (after that, you should have enough money that it's useless). Blacksmithing and Sagecraft is a must have for armor and weapons. You will NOT find better dropped or in chests. Especially if you make flawless components (prismere weapons with 30 dmg on 2 elements is win). Mercantile complements Detect Hidden. 70k runs vs 370k runs at about 8 points in....

  • @Chicotay Dispel is okay if you don't want to worry about curses, or don't want to pop health potions. Otherwise it and lockpicking are useless. Alchemy is top end when you don't need blacksmithing/sage crafting (like me), useless lower level. Persuasion is nice for those oddball storyline situations, and depends on play style. Stealth is again, useless, even for rogues. Yes, cool killing sequences, but it's good for one enemy, which in this game, you usually fight 4-5 at a time.

  • This looks a too easy rpg.

  • @Uachintom

For the most part it is quite easy, difficult settings are usually created by choice, however if you choose to button mash things can get pretty sticky later in the game when you face large groups of people... Some strategy is valuable which is why I ended up loving this game...

  • Thank you sir for convincing me to buy this game and helping me to actually put point on the most important skills- might/sorcerer lvl23

  • Stanley steamer keeps your home cleaner ..........Start suckin and steamin

  • if you want to train these skills by "using" a trainer, can you lvl them only once per level?

  • Persuasion actually gives epic items in some quests btw if gives one of the best neck piece from one of the early quest where you Hunt the Hunter or something like that google im not sure im still using it at lvl 20 and it gives 1+ to stealth/sneak which is awesome

  • does someone know how to get mercenary / perfidios armour sets?

  • @TheConfuesdOne Armor sets i trully dont know but ive gotten a few of a set on random places so i think there are trully random drops :S and in random treasure chests.

  • @Immabeastt04 i think they arent totally random, its like there is a set for each region i believe

  • If you go to all the trainers, you can max up to 7 skills or w.e its called, i have 6 maxed atm but i missed 2 trainers, so im going to them now, detect hidden is awsome, but its useless once u find all the lorestones. i have 3 things in detect hidden since i found everything already, i just need to finish all side quests. btw i heard if u want EPIC GEM slotted armor go to right before the boss battle and go to all the chests and unlock them, once u beat the final boss, YOU CANNOT RE ENTER...

  • Detect Hidden is one of the most valuable Skills, if not the most, it gives you gold and nice loot/potions/reagents/materials. Alchemy/BlackSmithing/Sagecraft are all REALLY important if you want to save money on buying lots of equips. though Alchemy's only real redeeming factor is the Fate Potion, though to be honest I would max it through trainers and save it for when you want to level quickly. Dispelling/Lockpicking are reduntant and useless and peruasion and stealth depend on the play style.

  • @BeAGeekAtEverything 100% agree

  • @BeAGeekAtEverything As a rogue, the stealth and detect hidden are far more important, imho.

  • @Kenja52269 Definitely... and in my opinion, the rogue/mage combo is the most fun, though I actually never tried the warrior facet...

  • @BeAGeekAtEverything I think so. I played with an almost-pure rogue, but chakrams are f***** awesome weapons (even without high arcane weaponry skill) so I can imagine you're right.

  • @BeAGeekAtEverything you should not have listed alchemy because you can find all the potions you will need so you never have to buy a single potion.

  • @desconfiar1 the only potion you can't find in the world is the fate potion, which is also the only reason to invest in alchemy, but like I said, it should be left to trainers when you want to grind levels.

  • @BeAGeekAtEverything How is lockpicking useless if you dont want to use like a million picks on the harder chests? :O

  • @MuppetLord1 Lockpicking is scary easy... Even the very hard chests only ever wasted up to 5 lockpicks, and after a while I just stocked up on prismere lock picks and used those on the hard and very hard chests just so I didn't waste time... It's not so bad really, but especially if you played skyrim (skyrim, I must say has a much better lock picking mechanic) this game's lock picking is quite easy...

  • Persuasion feels useful, but really all it does is make you lose out on experience in most cases. Sometimes it doesn't do anything at all. Also, dispelling is not easy with no points in it. Unless you have the reaction time of a cat, putting points into it is absolutely necessary, at least until the dark sigils are gone. Especially considering that warded chests have some of the best loot.

  • i love sagecrafting and detect hidden, the epic gems are beast becasue of the stats they give like my 48 physical dmg 20 piercing and a bunch of health and reistance. Get a lot of detect hidden for awsome loot

  • what about sagecraft? i hear you can make some good gems to improve a weapon if it has a socket just wanted throw that out there

  • level 4 dispelling is good to remove dark sigils. more is useless i agree

  • alchemy is good to produce the fate potion. you mix 4 substances of fate to completely fill your fate meter. you can´t buy that, can you?

  • Dispelling is NOT easy for me, I can't figure out that stupid mini game for the life of me. I've come to the point where I just ignore those chests. It's cheaper for me in the long run because most of the time the loot is not worth the trouble and lifting curses is up to 2500 gold for me each time, going higher. Not putting points there anyway, like I said, I just ignore them. I'd rather use the points in Blacksmithing or Alchemy (free Greater Health Points).

  • can you change class anytime in the game? like switching from sorcery to rogue etc.(skills, stats etc) or do i need to make a new game to play other classes?

  • @rocawear6i9 yeah you can change your class anytime you want by visiting a "fateweaver" and reallocate your points.

  • @rocawear6i9 yes u need to got to a fate weaver to go to them

  • Max blacksmithing- if you want to create master armor

Max Detect hidden-To loot every treasure you find in your map

Max Lockpicking- To make it easier to auto picklock

Max Mercantile-Sell every rare item you dont need at high price and buy item at low price

Alchemy-Lvl to 5 for fate potion

Sagecraft-lvl to 3 for medium quality shard

By the end of the game at max lvl 40, you will have over 10m gold, master armor, you crit almost every hit and will get over 4k of crit.(For rogue only)

  • ehm, mercantile is good for making money out of destroying items - really beats leaving the area to go to town to sell stuff - gives you more time, and you make more money by bargaining.

  • merchentile isnt that useless it helped me make a lot of gold at the start of the game that witch i used to get a prismere greatsword (178 base damage pluse 3 gem sockits the thing outshines most of the weapons i find),i put points into alcomy so i could use 4 reangents, detect hident like you seid pays for itself case closed, blacksmithing hase been helping me aswell,

  • hey man, i just beat the game actually, and i was straight rogue, and i gotta admit, stealth is pretty stupid, the only time i actually got a back stab crit was wen i used my poison bomb and walked behind the people... i went persuasion, blacksmithing, and detect hidden... also you can just run to Rathir and buy prismere weapons/ebony bow and you'll be set for the duration of your game

  • So, what does Sage Craft do? Also my character is gonna be in Sorcery. How should I have my talent tree?

  • @MindSeeR666 Sagecraft is great if you want to make your own armor. Check out my "My abilites/combos" video if you want to see some of my thoughts on the talent tree. It's for a specific playstyle but I go over some of the abilities.

  • @ManufacturedOpinionn I should of looked at your videos before I even said that comment.. Thanks man.. I'm coming from WoW to this lol.. I want to get skyrim too.. Best thing is these games have an end and there free to play when you buy the game ^.^

  • The dispelling mini-game appears to be near impossible on PC even on easy. I haven't once managed to dispel a chest. I'm playing on hard and flying through the rest of the game, so I'm no idiot. This minigame is pointless and frustrating.

  • The virginity is strong with this one..

  • i like trains

  • From what I've played so far, stealth seems somewhat useless on the majority of enemies. A lot of the enemies are most of the time facing your direction and in some cases just spawn right in front of you. An so I've had no trouble of just running head on into enemies and just button mashing them to death. Maybe I need to get further into the game. From what I've been reading so far. Detect Hidden and Persuasion seem to be the most useful skills out of the lot.

  • @Kreeze1986 Yeah once I started getting further into the game I realized Stealth was pretty useless. It's only fun if you want to switch up the gameplay a little. But lets be honest...destroying everything with insane combos is a lot more fun than sneaking around.

  • How about u play the game and figure out what skills are useful before posting a video about it. You just clog the search list. FYI detect hidden rarely gives any gold and tells you when it does all that gold you are getting is just naturally occurring gold Detect hidden is only useful to level 3 If your willing to spend the extra 7 points then yeah the master ability is nice but the 6 in between it do very little. the secret door point has revealed 3 or 4 passageways to me.

  • @35scape This was just to show how I would be playing when the game came out. How about you don't leave pointless comments? It clogs up the comments section. FYI gold from detect hidden shows up when you loot bodies (XX gold from detect hidden). Second if you want to find some of the best armor in the game you NEED the secret doors. Maybe play the game before you leave comments?

  • @ManufacturedOpinionn Well that wasn't very nice. I've completed the game several times now, done all the quests and maxed out 3 chars. I've found maybe 1 or 2 good items behind secret doors. So no, it's not really that useful. As for the gold part, you're going to be swimming in gold anyway so... Persuasion and Dispelling on the other hand can give you dialogue-changing options and COULD provide you with useful rewards or role-playing elements so those 2 skills are golden.

  • @35scape

it is really useful if your a rouge for stealth kills.

  • Thnx man you just got yourself a new subscriber ^o^ I also watched your skyrim videos on rare weapons. You are the BEST!!

  • What about sagecraft? Are you blind or have no opinion?

  • @Stonegoal At that time I was half blind/half no opinion haha

  • @ManufacturedOpinionn Well thanks for the review on the skills.

  • @Stonegoal

its awesome some of the stuff you can craft that the game wont generate i have made some dope ass gems i am a rogue/mage and i use mostly fire bleed and posion dmg and have made some awesome weapon gems with it.

  • @FreshYungKeasy I just checked on other people's thoughts on Dispel. There is alot of dispel hating going on and i'm going to join the ban wagon. Dispel minigame sucks but i think i know the problem now. The minigame is triggered on the release of the mount/key not the click/press.

  • @Stonegoal

thanks man have to remember that cause i hate doing that right now.

  • detect hidden, sagecraft, blacksmith = best 3 = op. the weapons and gems you can make are intense. ive not come down pasy 75% max hp lol and play on the hardest mode. kind of makes the game suck imo too easy.

  • your voice is like a younger christian bale, sers

  • Is it normal to be lvl 14 and have 800k? (Alot of Detect Hidden and Exploring :D)

  • You kinda remind me of a mix between that ginger has souls guy and sxephil..

  • @iRoNtEhFiSh man that's the second time someone says I sound like ginger has souls kid. Time to autotune my voice.

  • I don't know why but looks like many ppl don't prefer BS,guys trust me it's so imba that makes Hard difficulty into a for 2 years old noob baby difficulty{with my sorcery built a least}

The truth is though, that even in hard difficulty it doesn't matter which skills u will lvl up,since you will end up completing the game easily...I think that skills are for unique gameplay purpose with the respective character so just choose whatever u prefer and like :P

  • At a certain point in the game, it becomes easy to rearrange your skills at a fateweaver in order to smith a weapon, craft a stone or mix a potion before switching back to your main skills. So there's never any need to invest in those when you're adventuring.

  • @Orangepitcher03

Actually that's not true I am lvl 28 have 750k gold from just selling items i find on the world,i use almost none of those gold but i have most points on BS and SC always when i am adventuring because i can salvage magic and rare items and I am getting shards in 95% of my loots...I dont even bother crafting gear or gems for selling becaus e like i said the gold i earn just by selling looted gear is more than enough and i dont even use it lol!

  • i think dispelling is important, im lvl 7 now and full of curses, no points in dispel yet, i cant get rid of my curses, but maybe theres another way i dont know (yet)

    Nice video, thanks for tips

  • @PsilocybinHippie you could go back to the first town, go in the inn, on the second floor theres a healer that removes curses and disease

  • I alway tought:

    Alhemy

    Blacksmithing

    Detect hidden

    Sage craft

But now you made me think, if you find many potions and much gold why invest points

And persuation looks cool to as you said it

What u guys think about sagecraft?

And can someone give me dispelling tips pleas i just cant dispel

Thanks and hope i get my pre-order fast in the mail...

  • @TheUSsoldierF For dispelling... It's just annoying. You try to hit the single circles first, then the two mark circles, and so on so forth. Later on in the levels you can just fail it and use a potion immediately afterwards if you can't get it.

  • @TheUSsoldierF Dispelling it took me awhile to figure it out, click anywhere when the bubble is over the rune, over the single rune first and you need to be quick and accurate so it won't reset the last rune you need to hit is the double one..

  • Detect hidden is awesome. it'll soon allow you to disable traps and salvage items from them. And with all the extra gold, you'll actually be able to go to the star camp and find a stealth tutor who will get you up to level 3 stealth, but at a price of course. This game is fuckin awesome.

  • Well the 3 best are BS,SC and DT ,having tried all of those 3,i think a new player should maximize BS first and then SC ,insane gear+money {with DT u get good money but i think BS + SC are even better},and the gears u get with DT,that u might even get w/o it,iare worse than the mastercrafted 1s...and 2 points in alchemy for reagents looting is necessary,so that u don't waste time with many fail loots :)

  • Detect Hidden is good stealth has its uses also but i find sagecrafting to be by far the best every build needs sagecrafting plus with it you will never need money ever again my current level i can make 200,000 gold in under 15 mins

  • blacksmithing: you can make easy gears that are better than you find i always salvage the daggers i find and than use the componets to make a even better one, i salveged a dagger of 40damge and made one of 80 damage :P

  • Hey, after watching this video I think ill go 1. Detect Hidden, 2. Blacksmithing and 3. Stealth, altough sagecraft for better gems seems ok so i'll see. Btw i'm doing a hybrid of might/finesse with primary weapons faeblade and longbow. Most of the points in Might will be passive things.

  • Detect Hidden is CRAZY, I maxed it out as early as possible and I have over a million gold not to mention some crazy strong equipment and the experience boost you get from seeing all the lorestones on the minimap makes that skill kinda overpowered, it helps a lot.

  • Im a lvl 14 frogue/caster but im only caster for self buffs and i do insane dps. This game is awesome and im hoping to upload a vid pretty soon.

  • your voice....

  • @lilphillio gives angels orgasms

  • @ManufacturedOpinionn

Only if they were deaf and had heard you at one point in time.

  • Hey mate, I have reckoning. The best skills for me are the stealth, DEFINATELY detect hidden, mercantile and persuasion :)

  • @jammydodger1208 detect hidden is awesome

  • @jammydodger1208 sagecraft is rad too if you start putting points early on; but finding drops with sockets can be a bitch.

  • Good Vid. I have been playing for about 12 hours now and something that i have noticed is persuasion is pretty helpful. Further along the game if you win the persuade attempt you can win Epic grade gear. To me that seemed worth it so I lvled that class first. Just thought that i would throw that out for you guy. Have Fun

  • Blacksmithing negates Mercantile too, because you'll be salvalging everything and not selling.

  • my personal opinion is blacksmithing proves to be most useful. Only because if you find pieces throughout the game low or high quality then you can still make some pretty badass gear like for when I was playing the demo. I used all my points to upgrade the blacksmithing slot and I made some pretty sweet weapons and blew through all the quest in about 35 (since the demo only gives you 45 minutes I think)

  • I pretty much did what you described (poured my points into blacksmithing and detect hidden) because it makes sense to do that. Especially since I'm playing as warrior/mage so I don't need stealth.

  • Well done, thanks.

  • Is there any form to reset the skills? no abillities , only skills

  • @burguerking1 Try the fateweaver in the house of ballads. I believe you can change both skills and abilities when you use one.

  • You skipped sagecraft, doc.

It's the only skill that complements the blacksmithing with its gems that you can put into or use them in order to create your armor.

  • One thing i'd like to mention: Dispelling is necessary if you wish to avoid fighting some NPCs late in the House of Ballads questline. I have it raised at 4 and it is not enough to save them all.

The quest can be completed without dispelling, but if you're feeling sorry for them, then you should sacrifice some points into Dispelling and bring some potions with you before you pass the point of no return, like me.

  • @orshael at least you're honest haha

  • Yea I would agree too , but one of the points in the game is to experiment and not be put down a linear class. Though this is how I did it in the demo and this a good guide but I'm sure more will be fount out when the game comes Feb. 7

  • Alchemy = O O ( useless for me too but people might like it ) Blacksmithing = O O O O O Detect Hidden = O O O O ( good at start maybe not master it ) Dispelling = O ( useless ) Lockpicking = O (useless ) Mercantile = O O O O ( good . better if you steal a lot ) Persuasion = O O O O ( always good ) Sagecraft = O O O O O ( my favorite ) Stealth = O O O ( Awesome of Assassin style ) So pretty much the same as you good job =)
  • I am going to put my points in the same way you are except I'm going to be playing a rogue/Mage mix. I think that sagecraft might be good to put in points too since If you are going to go for a rogue/mage, you can put some increase magic restoration or reduce spell cost on your rogue armor.

  • @VanillaCupk That's a good point

  • u are the persone i go to when i would like to know something about up coming games no joke

  • @Alex08Rodriguez Glad I can help :)
