Andy at his best, just being himself in what he was passionate about at the time. Whatever his favorite character was to himself, that was his most beloved. And the one people would take to immediately.
This is definitely my favorite Andy promo. The slow build and the totally obnoxious ranting was absolutely brilliant. I audio taped this in 5/83 (didn't have a VCR yet) and played it for my friends at our 8th grade graduation party.....priceless priceless memories.....
And Lance topped it off with "Ya gotta wonder about that dude..." :D
"You stupid hick!" LMAO

What should have happened was they should have tought Andy how to pro wrestle then he wouldn't have been so shocked. That or do real wrestling.

The way he says "Memphis, Tennesse" is very addictive. I better watch myself or I'll end up saying it by accident. LOL.

It still cracks me up that he's the one screwing with the video and making the wooo sounds with his mouth

And can you believe what a put-on it all was? ;-)
Lawler has said in Andy's authorized bio that Andy was actually respectful and really shy around him.

I'm enclined to agree w/ sbeavers. This was the best angle in pro wrestling history.

This angle was maybe the best work ever in wrestling...

Cheers, David Arquette can't hold Kaufman's jock.
PDXCHawk 3 years ago 4
Well at least Arquette didn't wrestle women.
jww112093 2 years ago
At least Kaufman was funny :]
Naw I ain't got nothin' 'gainst Arquette, just sayin' this angle was so much better. Best evar.

that is what made Lance the best( exept for Gordon Solie ) , he sold better than the wrestlers!!
sbeavers30721 3 years ago 10
@sbeavers30721 he was such a perfect foil...he was a calmer, more downtrodden version of Ed Whalen from Stampede

@sbeavers30721 I have to say that Lance was better than Gordon Solie. He just wasn't a mainstream announcer until he left Memphis for the WCW.

Sometimes I wonder if Lance ever knew that it was all a work.
