Adam Faith was SO gorgeous! I discovered him earlier this year by way of the early 90's BBC series Love Hurts, which he starred in with Zoe Wanamaker. I had never heard of him before. What a lovely voice he had. Clearly he was quite multi-talented.
This, and " Talk About Love" were his two charting hits in the U.S. , I have both on the original labels and wouldn't part with them. Sorry to hear he passed away, " Its Alright" hit the airwaves in Cleve. Ohio in Dec. 1964, Great song .
I admit I didn't listen much to music in 1964, but by 1967, that had changed. (girls). Adam Faith is a Brit that I never heard of until I saw him on here. Cliff Richard is anther one. I just don't think they got much air time in the States. Thanks to YouTube and the people posting them. . This is a GREAT song, I just love it. Such high energy, I want to get up and dance. The UK sure gave the world some great artists.
Adam and the band really getting it on. Shades of Brian Poole and the Tremoloes. But AF was first of course. I saw him about 25 years ago jogging in Battersea Park.
I was under the impression that Adam Faith recorded with a group called The Roulettes. I only recently became aware of his passing. He was a mainstay on Shindig back in 64.
I spent months trying to find this song a few years ago but never did find it. I simply gave up. And here it is on "You Tube." This is a fabulous song. Adam Faith delivers "It's Alright" better than other any performer I have heard. R.I.P Adam Faith.
demag, I also hated " Good Morning Vietnam ". I was in country 70-71, so I missed Adrian Cronauer. I only watched the movie once and for some reason thought he said this was by " The Dawnbreakers " so have spent a lot of wasted time looking for it by that artist, sigh. But don't worry about the soundtrack. For some reason they did not put this song on it. And imho it's the best song from the movie.
Sorry for my tardy reply, sidvicious. Yes, Adrian Cronauer was/is quite real. He was a DJ in Vietnam for Armed Forces Radio in ( I believe ) 67-68. 68 for sure. As I said, I came in country in 70 so I missed him. And I hated the movie for several reasons ( I did enjoy the humor ) but mainly because, except for the fact that he was real, the movie is total fiction and the subplots were all stupid and phony. He himself stated that he was nothing like Robin Williams character.
He also said that, even though he was a consultant for the movie, they almost totally ignored every one of his suggestions. Hollywood just wanted to do the movie their own way and be able to list his as a consultant to give themselves some credibility. ( That last thought is mine, not a statement from him ).
thats awesome man..its not cool you were their but..i did enjoy the humor robin had in the movie...but i thought that stuff was real...but i guess hollywood is to phoney to make historicly acurate films ...its redicuous
of course he was nothing like robon Wms. The movie wouldnt have been nearly as funny if it was all reality. To pull off some of the stunts Robin did in movie, like disobeying a superior, would have gotten him court martialed
Adam Made a film in London in th early 60,s and when me and my sister went to ask him for an autograph he told us to f-ck off but hey I showed him I bought all his records and made him rich. He then went on to be a financial adviser .
sadly he died not so long ago, but his music will live on forever . I still play Adam with pride today he is in all my playlists and a 50;s legend
Oh my Gosh, I have this album. I cannot believe I found Adam Faith on here. I grew up in England and whatched Budgie every week. I am just blown away that he is on here. we used to go mad over this man. Anyone know where and what he is doing now?
Still is. The correct billing is "Adam Faith and The Roulettes" by the way. The Roulettes were a group signed by Parlophone whose members included a young Russ Ballard. They even had an LP issued, despite having no big hits.
judyblueeyes--HELLO!!!! My friend Bern and I are just loving this--doesn't anybody else love Adam and this song? We're having a helluva time!!! Thanks for posting.
