  • Without Dylan there certainly would not have been a VU as we know it...and in terms of the racy subject matter they are famous for Dylan sang lyrics with hard drugs and sexual outlaws in 1965...musically, the VU was 3 very creative people compared to one...comparisons are odious. peace

  • you think bob dylan created velvet underground? i know you dont but it looks like it. he didnt have anything going like velvet, he wasn't at that range of lyrics lou wrote down, he was at a more family-gurthrie-kinda-typing. velvet underground wrote about the things that were truly adult and beyond at that time.

  • That's actually a pretty good description of the VU as a whole, not just this song.

  • personally id' say the VU is far beyond bob dylan in all ways. he made some timeless music but he never created anything as strong or influential as the VU.
