  • What kind of headphones do you use? Which brand/type? Please let me know, would be a great help!

  • What Logic Pro is this?! I know it's a good few years ago but this version looks so much like Cubase. I use Logic 8.0.2 now and i have to say it's clearly come a long way since that :p

  • hey, was wandering if you could help::? my vocals always sound like they are IN the mix as opposed to in front, or on top... i dont know how to give them their own little place in the mix... how do you?

  • allrighty g'day mate

  • Auto Tune

  • u cant sing nigga rap lol

  • he's deff not english as i am and he's deff not english as he can't sing!!! he's from australia i thinks

  • His Australian

  • I think he is Australian. Quite different to British accent.

  • I don't think English people have an accent. I mean it sounds like they do to me because I'm American but wouldn't the way English people sound speaking English just be the "normal" sound of the language? Do French people have a French accent when speaking French?

  • only if his accent was british, it's more kiwi than anything.

  • Hmmmm...... Goes to show how little we Americans know about the world

  • A tip to people doing vocal overdubs. Always leave one earphone off. People who wear headphones on both ears tend to sing a little flat. This is from years of experience. It takes getting used to, but it ends up working better.

  • I do the same, if u wear earphones only on one ear then you can hear your voice while ure singin and it helps :)

  • Why is it that when british people sing their accent goes away lol

  • because they speak through their throat and sing from their diaphragm which produces no accent, i.e. natural sound.

  • Wow! That makes sense. Thanks for replying. I've been trying to make sense of that for years! lol

  • I have always wondered that.

  • also happens to the northern irish as well like me in logic !!

  • it's either a kiwi or australian accent definitely not british.

  • @Tgreenfi08 he is australian not english

  • @Tgreenfi08 Lol that happens to me as well. I'm Scottish but i sing with like a slight American voice?

    It's weird as hell. O.o

  • You sound like a cross between Michael Jackson and Johnny Cash.

  • Wow. I wish I sounded like that.

  • "noww im using an audiotechnica 4033...uhh MIC, its a mic thats now quite old..."

  • nuthin like an armadillo to sing

  • Voice sounds a bit like Elvis Costello, funny, dude looks a bit like him too. Ugh, I hate recording vocals.

  • Yeah, what kind of mic is that since you never say what its called in the video? Keep it up mate

  • hmm its look likes a t.bone sc 400 ^^ but idk^^

  • AT 4033

  • what type of mic are you recording with in the video?

  • cool : )

  • Comment removed

  • Great vid. Thanks for sharing.

  • yeah especially things like pitch correction create lag if you have them enabled while recording.

Btw, how are you running logic pro on a samsung laptop? Do you have a hackintosh like me?

  • hey my vocals arent coming out as clear as they should and theres to much bass in my voice i use protools what plug ins should i use while im recording?

  • Try not using any plug ins while you're recording and add compression and EQ later as needed. For a clearer sound try experimenting with different mics and preamps. The better quality original sound the better result down the track. Your mic and pre is where it all starts so get the best you can afford. cheers bb

  • 3:13.

    Dads nuts are getting tighter.

rofl i know its something about knots but thats not funny.

    sweet video

  • Ha! Man, I'm never gonna be able to listen to that bit again without hearing dads nuts.

  • @atractor Awesome!! hehe

  • @jian2069 omg thats priceless.....

  • good job ceck mine out

  • this mode of recording is the most eficient.

  • how do u reduce midi instrument latency in acid?

  • how do you reduce noize on my moto, MORON, what kind of question is that?

  • u could have simply not answered b.....if the guy doesnt know he'll ask

  • try decreasing your buffer size (it will probably be in preferences under operation), but when you mix increase your buffer size. If youre using a lot of plug ins that require a lot of processing power turn them off this will allow your computer to run more efficiently. Most interfaces will allow for near zero latency monitoring so check that first.

  • this guy is from bad religion ;-) he plays guitar!

  • nope, wrong one.

  • That room couldnt of echoed more, but nice vid :)

  • isnt this guy in Bad religion?

  • Not the same one

  • wrong brian baker!

  • this is a cool technique what program u using?and how are you moving the phrases up and down?

  • cool..how much did that mic cost? cause i would really want to get one.

  • It's an AT4033 and it cost about $1200 Australian when I bought it in 1992!!!! Audio Technica's current versions are alot better priced than that these days.

  • Respect Man, That Was Pretty Cool.

  • GREAT WORK KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

  • very nice vocals...

    the part Monoton??? or Stereo?

  • Hey Brian - nice vocals - reminds me of Elvis Costello.

  • Is this a 'how to use logic to record vocals' tutorial or 'how to record vocals' tutorial? confused...?

  • JAAA!!!

Protools, sonar, cubase, logic pro are the same level man...

  • you fool

logic 8 is sposedly the best..

i use cubase, sonor, and logic 7 atm and i find logic to be the best to my needs

  • Okay, okay. Sorry I upset you.

  • You're wrong. Plus, Logic Pro comes with a number of plug-ins for pitch correction. Not to mention the EXS24 Sampler, that comes with a big sample library to compliment. It depends on what you're used to, I guess. But you can't just say that something else is better just because you've probably had little experience with Logic.

  • DarkUltros,

Okay, I'll take your word for it. Hope you have a better day.

  • its all about what meets your needs. One app is going to be better then another in certain things. i love sonar but, i think logic interface is better but i am sure i could make the best music in sonar cause have been a user of sonar for so long. Learn your software and u can do anything

  • I have write a song can you possible change some of the lyrics but keep the same meaning and record some music for it please just a trial run for song writting, then send me the music and lyrics through email.

  • sir, can you tell me the difference between logic pro 8, logic express 8 and logic studio 8?? also, what are the price differences?? I record on a analog 8 track tape recorder, i want to use a digital program to clean up the tracks. which logic should i get?

  • Probably the express package would be fine. It's a cut down version but still got lots of stuff. Logic Studio is the complete package that includes Logic Pro 8 and the other programs in the suite. Check out the apple site. What interface will you use?

  • i was going to record all my stuff on tape, then import each track into the imac to clean the tracks up and edit in logic. how do i import the tracks? my tascam 688 MIDI studio is what i record on

  • how do you get two screens for one comp???

  • dual head video card :D

  • cheers

  • WTF?

  • hey grat video, greetings from colombia medellin.

question: can u make a little video showing how you use,, multipressor an ad limiter???

  • what is the best program to record vocals?

    please answer

  • These techniques will work in whatever sequencing program you want to use. I use Logic because I know it best and I like it.

    Cheers

    bb

  • does logic work with m audio equipment?

  • Sure, but you gotta be on Mac. Logic got taken over by Apple a few years back and they stopped making versions that would work on PC. Hey but once you go Mac, you never look back!

  • Yeah, Logic Studio is a great investment. I'm an electronic music producer and I use Logic Pro 8 as my main sequencer, and I run this on a Mac Pro. You should already have experience with sequencing before you invest in Logic Pro, peepsbrand, because it's very difficult to use at first. As Brian said, you need a Mac to run the latest versions of Logic. If you're a PC user, and don't intend on getting a Mac then you should have a look at Cubase, the audio editing features are really good.

  • excellent man,v ery interesting, even if use cubase. and nice voice too.

and anyone who works with a sequencer knows it's a great plus to have 2 screens !

  • Can I borrow your monitors? Please?!?!

Damn things are expensive, and I ain't got no moneys =(

  • haha.

    Sure buddy.

by teh way, awsome video. Im really interested in logic.

  • cheers mate

  • I like this. You know what your doing, do you have any past eduacation or just trial and error?

  • No formal education, just been recording for quite a while, had a few record deals and the privilege of having my music recorded by some fantastic engineers, in some excellent studios. Wrote and recorded with Eddie Rayner from Split Enz for a few years, that was a fantastic education, that guy is super talented.

  • i have the at4040

    shyts a beast

  • I dunno why but i find Older mics better than most new ones in some situations

  • now that's one boomy sounding room. Buy it's just for the demo right?

  • The audio for the video is being recorded by the mic on the camera, so it's getting a lot more room sound. The room is a bit live but I kinda like that. I don't go for the totally dead room thing - just my preference.

  • very helpfull...i hadn't thought about doing it piece by piece...that helps a lot

  • you should do something with sonar

  • hey thanks man, like the song too , i love the scale progression down where u sang "scene" and "crease"

  • he is using logic

  • 5 stars from your newest subscriber :)

    I'm loving this !

  • keep up the cool vids mate

  • Great guy!! Thanks! Keep it coming!

  • Really nice videos. Very helping. Thanks a lot.

  • Hey this is great! I just want to know what program you're using for you vocal track mixing. My teacher has only taught me with Cubase.

  • Hey, I'm using Logic Audio. It's just my pref since I know it, but you could use these ideas with any of the audio programs out there i.e Cubase, Performer, Protools etc...

  • Thanks for the Tips :)

  • Great Movie! THX

maybe you could show us what kind of FX we should use for our vocal recordings

  • Good idea. I'll attempt to include that when I do a vid about mixing. Thanks for the comment.

  • ouu u can sing .. n thank u 4 dis

  • Thanks RubbyRoy. I guess there's more to come!

  • Nice one :) . Keep up the good work.
