There is a legal precedent called "Lawfull Command", in short, anything a policeman tells you to do, even if a violation of your right, common logic, or the law itself, it becomes law. When a policeman speaks, his words become law, you must comply, you must obey.
Failure to do so, & you can see the results in this video. The cop said "tuck in your shirt", that statement then becomes law, and the Police has a right to enforce compliance.

Precisely! In my view for a commend by a Policeman to truly be Lawful, it must be founded in Law. It must be a reasonably and logical request in the moment. And the police must learn to make a distinction between a general requests & a Lawful Command.
The Policeman has no 'lawful' authority to issue the command that he did. "Tuck in your shirt" does not fall within the spectrum of his duties.
The essence of "Lawful Command" is an interesting concept. In my view, a command can not be lawful unless it is founded in some aspect of law. In short, in my view, the police can not issue random bullcrap command. There has to be some legal basis for it, and not some half-assed basis, but something that will stand up in court.
Sadly though, the police are a law unto themselves, which itself is or should be against the law.

I know that this is an old story but after some research I found out the cop was put in jail.... No for this though.... He was put in jail in Indiana after RAPING, yes I said raping a woman. The problem is that when cops issue an order, no matter how insignificant, the can't back down, they can only escalate. But, the 'order' doesn't have to have anything to do with the law. A cops is a law unto himself, if he says Poop, you better poop, or pay the price.
It is not the cops job to enforce dress code, but once he issue the order 'tuck in your shirt', police policy says that order must be obeyed regardless of the consequences of forcing compliance.

The security officer was way too hard. Why was the kid was walking away as the security officer was talking to him and was not tucking his shirt in. Special Ed means he has trouble learning not following basic instructions like tuck your shirt in.
I think alot of these cops have pent up frustration from the job and they just lose it over anything. They're amped up and loose canons. Some of the cops are just as crazy as the criminals they arrest. I try to stay away from criminals and the police.
I watch the video and see this kid continues to keep walking away from the police officer while he is talking to him. He has to react to that as a threat. I work security and we learn face-down takedowns, but we are trying to get away from being on the persons back which can cause these deaths, and focus on the head, locking the head down between your legs so you are not on top of the person. The position itself doesn't kill you, it is the weight on top of you called positional asphyixation.
Why is it that when I google this, I can find a large number of articles reporting a 15 years kid's name (Marshawn Pitts), yet there is not one article that reports the adult public servants name. You would figure the cop is an adult and a public servant, so there should be no reason why his name is not made public, yet there is no problem reporting the name of a minor who is a victim. WTF???

Second of all students are supposed to listen to the adults that are put in charge by their parents. There is a legal precedent called "Lawfull Command", in short, anything a policeman tells you to do, even if a violation of your right, common logic, or the law itself, it becomes law. When a policeman speaks, his words become law, you must comply, you must obey.
Failure to do so, & you can see the results in this video. The cop said "tuck in your shirt", that statement then becomes law, and the Police has a right to enforce compliance.
Though I should say, I DO NOT AGREE with that concept.

Precisely! In my view for a commend by a Policeman to truly be Lawful, it must be founded in Law. It must be a reasonably and logical request in the moment. And the police must learn to make a distinction between a general requests & a Lawful Command.
The Policeman has no 'lawful' authority to issue the command that he did. "Tuck in your shirt" does not fall within the spectrum of his duties.

The essence of "Lawful Command" is an interesting concept. In my view, a command can not be lawful unless it is founded in some aspect of law. In short, in my view, the police can not issue random bullcrap command. There has to be some legal basis for it, and not some half-assed basis, but something that will stand up in court.
Sadly though, the police are a law unto themselves, which itself is or should be against the law.

The problem is that when cops issue an order, no matter how insignificant, the can't back down, they can only escalate. But, the 'order' doesn't have to have anything to do with the law. A cops is a law unto himself, if he says Poop, you better poop, or pay the price.
It is not the cops job to enforce dress code, but once he issue the order 'tuck in your shirt', police policy says that order must be obeyed regardless of the consequences of forcing compliance.

I watch the video and see this kid continues to keep walking away from the police officer while he is talking to him. He has to react to that as a threat. I work security and we learn face-down takedowns, but we are trying to get away from being on the persons back which can cause these deaths, and focus on the head, locking the head down between your legs so you are not on top of the person. The position itself doesn't kill you, it is the weight on top of you called positional asphyixation.

This is one sided. Iagree the, how this story is presented the officer seems to be using excessive force. However, did the Kid sugest to the officer that he had a wepon, that would have justified the use of force? every kid alive has broke a rule or two, it's not a law and the kid was not told he was under arrest, so he was not resisting? i've met a few cops like that "where did that sidewalk come from"? facedown takedown ohhhhhh

What did the Kid do right to avoid this situation? Your on school property; they have rules in place. You wouldn't show up at McDonald's for your shift without the uniform. Cop was, but again tell me what the punk did right. People get sick of punks all the time. Don't act like a punk if you can't take what you have coming to you. Where are all the other kids? Oh yeah they are in class ready to learn. OH, POOR PUNK KID. I am sure you like when punks lip off to you!

There is a dress code in schools because of gang members. That doesn't excuse the behavior of the cop because this is obviously assault.

Second of all students are supposed to listen to the adults that are put in charge by their parents. Also, the students are supposed to follow the rules and listen to an officer and hell even the teachers in the school that your tax dollars pay for. But I digress he was just a kid and should always be able to act like an idiot and others are just supposed to put up with it. When you act stupid be ready for stupid things to happen!

This school is a secondary program to the primary school. So he gets to choose how you spend your tax dollars as well? Now he needs a third school to goto, because he can't follow the rules at this school. We all know that his family would say, why do I gotta move for my kid to learn? We also may already know from punk gangsters in the past that they don't have time to home school, because they are putting in the hours watching Maury!

Then tell this kid's parents how to discipline, so this doesn't happen again. I know other punk gangsters would have done worse for the actions he dicided to use; other than just shutting his mouth and listening. Tell me what can be done then. When a kid comes to school and knows that he can walk around and talk the way he wants cause you can't lay your hands on um. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way. The cop has been disciplined. Why can't the punk kid learn a lesson?

Kid looks fine and his head looked to be up looking at the officer mouthing off again. It couldn't have been that bad if the kid was still able to lip off. Didn't make it sound like he harmed the teacher, but he did act aggressively towards another adult. So being a punk kid gives you the right to disregard authority? I hope my kids don't listen to you and learn from this kid, because he didn't look too succesful in this moment. Cop had to learn a lesson; why can't the kid learn a lesson?

So being a student and a poor punk kid gives you the right to disrespect adults without any punishment what so ever. The teacher looked as if she was trying to help him. Instead he decided to act even more stupid and then the cop acted in a stupid way as well. I don't give the officer a pass, but I also don't like punk kids that don't respect others and rules set forth by parents to be followed. What did the kid do right in this situation? Also, what did he learn from this situation?

Fun fact special needs schools are made for teens that have problems learning in a normal school environment. Meaning from my experience from high school back in my day and from the looks of this punk. They also made the school for children who have problems with authority as well, but I digress this kid looks and acts like he has a lot to offer. Thanks for calling me a racist though. Will you be the one sticking up for him when hes getting raped in prison also; by your racist people.

Baby mamma on welfare, him in prison saying the man framed him, or better yet just living off your tax dollars for the rest of his life; like his parents. Okay, lets assume he is rude and an ass overall. That does not give the officer the right to use a lethal method unless the kid was assaulting the police officer.
I know proper procedure, most officers follow them, most even more than they have to. This cop is not one of them.

The kid already had a problem in normal school. Why act so stupid to create another problem in this school, made for idiots and needy kids like himself? So your fine with the kid actting like a tard in a school where your tax dollars are going to help him, so later in life he doesn't cost you more money on welfare or in the prison system. You pretty much answered every question. This cop was sick of dealing with punk gangster wannabes in his city and this kid learned his lesson hopefully; before he meets up with another gangster wannabe that doesn't have to answer to anyone. I don't think it was right for either idiot to act the way they did. Kid or not, cop or not, everyone makes a mistake that they can and should learn from. I do have sympathy for those who don't waste time and money.

@terence671 The kid lipped off and assaulted another teacher. The other adults helped this officer with this punk kid. Kid looks fine in the interview, no? I care about people that care and respect others. Idiots that do stupid things have gotten hurt from this type of trained maneuver. We live in a world of people having the chance to be taught right by their parents, and if they don't learn form them. They can be taught in a different way.

Crazy story, some kid's parents didn't stop their son from going on a crime spree and killing two women.Now should they be jailed for allowing him to do such things? It was their gun and car.The kid was also a distraction in school.This kid looks fine and the department did/would've taken a look at this tape if the punk was seriuosly injured and your tax dollars would help his family even more!

@ajtwin23 you can't make a generalization about all kids in the "special education" section. I'm sorry, but if this is a WHOLE SCHOOL for it? It's slightly obvious that he actually has special needs. Should the kid still respect the adult if his teachers are hittiing him? It's called police brutality, buddy, that's not teaching a lesson. Maybe if the kid, oh, I don't know, had been pulling out a gun? No, his shirt was untucked. the kid is 15! All he had to do was talk to him, no assault needed!
