Another common example is Down Syndrome.
They make educated guesses. They do know that smoking, drinking or taking drugs will increase the likelyhood of birth defects.
But they don't know why certain genes in a developing embryo or fetus misfire. Sometimes you can get two perfectly compatable parents and the result is a child that is born with birth defects of various levels of severity.

@TeesByTruthSurge I was never brought up as a child to go to church, say my prayer told to believe in God or face hell. We were protestants on paper but we never went to church.I believed there was a God but didn't know what God really was.

It actually centers more around taking responsibility for your actions rather than assuming you were born evil and just can't help yourself.
But I can't blame you for your words; I actually viewed apostates the same way when I was evangelizing.
