  • That Grand National will beat a gay-looking Pontiac Trans-AM.

  • u dont need nitros this should smoke tires without that it might even over rev and blow now that would hurt the wallet please dont break it ,, i have an 85 i spent 5 k on a rebuild ...

  • @dumbcup Nitrous is used to spool only...n the current form... a small 65 horse shot. I used over 125 on "Hot-Air" with a TA33, translator plus and GN-1 aluminum heads. It worked well. I have found nitrous to be very reliable on these motors when set up correctly.

  • "there you go, its a grand national motor. bom bom bom bom bom!" LOL if it werent for the narration i wouldnt have watched the whole thing

  • @71stingray Don't take it too hard Corvette boy... Picked on several of you over the years... always a sweet win beating a Corvette.

  • what size turbo ?

  • @oohklu 60-1 in the video... It has been replaced with a new T-66

  • what kind of downpipe do you have off the turbo there

  • @dodgeboy323 Terry Houston Stainless 3"

  • I noticed the second outlet off the Vacuum block has a piece of vac hose with a bolt in it and a hose clamp around it. Try a vacuum cap and a zip tie. looks a little cleaner. Also that dryer hose will collapse at any second! not to mention looks like crap. Also with all those go fast goodies not to mention nitrous only pulling a 13.77 is shameful. My stock 87 Turbo T went 13.9 bone stock on street tires.

  • @askoeman The motor has been updated since this video... several changes have occurred since this video. It isn't an excuse to run a time the GN ran... it was on low boost, and I left the line at "Idle." 13.77 at 112 mph in thin air isn't to be sneezed at in such conditions - untuned and running low boost. Your stock "Turbo T" was never running 112 mph with it's 13 second passes.

  • what about the "air inlet" isnt that from a Whirlpool washer and dryer system?

  • @peteskeet79 Could be... and it worked! This has since been replaced, as was the tiring 60-1 turbo for a new T-66.

  • BOOM. BOOM..BOOM....BOOOM.BOOOOMMM!!!

    HAHAHAA

  • @peteskeet79 Nope... last time at the track 13.77 at 112 mph. It consistently traps 108 to 110 mph "off the bottle." I may... or may not have a bottle in it. If I am playing you can bet that I do. :)

  • BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOMMMM!!! HAHAHAHA

  • Hey i got a '84 and da turbo is at da back of da motor on passenger side. WTF is this. Some home made shit.

  • I had mine in the original configuration years ago... a John Craig TA-33C turbo, 36lbs injectors, Translator MAF, and other mods...

Trust me on this one... you will go faster Intercooled and with less effort. I have more money into my heads than you have in your entire motor.

My '84 GN is one of the rarest of the group as well... factory moonroof, and digital dash. It is the most loaded Build code cars in the country.

  • Mine has da moon roof too, i jus got mine yesterday. give me yo email address i'm send u some pics.

  • @AtomikPuppy Boostnitup @ Yahoo . com is how to reach me...

  • i jus got mine yesterday, its also has a moonroof.give me yo email address i'm send u pics.

  • u're on crack!!

  • @SickDynamics Nope... just have the most loaded build code '84 GN in the world.

    Rarer than yours!

  • @AtomikPuppy my 80 monte carlo with the factory 3.8 turbo is at the back of the passenger side too

  • I meant like the bottom ends on the 109 blocks and mildly 'tweaked' diff. trany are good for up to close to that much horsepower. I recently purchased a 87 ttype with the usuall mods: thdp, scanmaster, razors alky kit, art carr shift kit..ect. But u got a money making sleeper right there my friend lol. I want to start racing for money here soon after I get a te60 and an fmic.

  • Good luck getting a 109 "stock" block up to 1,000 horses. I wish you well. Even with aftermarket steel main caps, I Beam Rods, and Forged crankshaft.

I no longer street race... That was then, and this is now. If you live long enough you'll give it up too. It has been awhile since I have been called a dirt bag... does that rate up there with my being called a "Sissy?" Trying to figure out what grade to give it... higher or lower?

Just don't call me "Late for dinner."

  • It traps 108 to 110 mph "off the bottle"... and I leave the line at idle. It will run a 13.70 to 14.10 without effort in 100+ degree summer air temps.

I am sure it has low 12 in it if I wanted to spool it up at the line and beat on it. Maybe next year when I have enough cash to purchase a spare short block. It needs another turbo... it is too small. :)

  • WTF?!..u my friend are a grade A dbag. U dnt kno s#%^ bout these cars. It wouldn't do any of that, everything u just listed is good up to 1000hp, built trany I'm sure he has too.

  • My car was "Hot-Air" non-intercooled when i purchased it in 1996. I doubt you'd get 1,000 horsepower out of a 60-1 turbo, and a 100K miles shortblock with a 206/206 camshaft... but hey! You have "Going Fast with Class!" down so well that I am willing to let your commentary stand so others can get a chuckle.

  • If you race these cars hard... you will indeed lose a set of headgaskets "eventually." You'll also break rear ends, converters, transmissions, and probably toss a rod or two. I haven't done the later "yet" but have had several buddies do it. They also knew how to "tune." BTW: Embrace "Going Fast with Class" and others like myself won't throw a cold shoulder at you.

  • No kidding? Who made you the rocket scientist? Have you done it in Colorado's thin air? Everyone has a magic Gem in their pocket until asked if they own one of these rare cars. Have you ever changed headgaskets on a 3.8? Or a camshaft? Or set a camshaft sensor?

  • When and if I paint it... "Matte Black" is the color selected. I am resigned to not painting it any day soon due to the jealous shat-tards that live in Colorado. They just can't leave something that isn't theirs alone. If they aren't messing with it... they are trying to steal it... Here in Colorado if you are not 18 years of age you can get away with anything except murder. So a teenager stealing the car and joyriding it would be a right of passage towards thug-hood in a gang. F them.

  • Don't paint this car, flat black looks so mean. I've always wanted to see one of these left in flat black/primer, it just says "I am not built for looks, I am built for performance". Don't listen to the haters who want a nice shiny paint job so they can look at it while it sits, flat black driving it, that's style. Nice work.

  • paint that thing please!!! lol nice build up. I just bought a 86 gn. Any suggestions on what to do mod wise??

  • SUGGESTION...

    Look at the later videos.

  • Why? So you can steal a finished car?

    Forget it.

I'll keep it in black primer to make jail time not worth the experience.

  • I think id rather see a paint job on that beast rather than a butched up engine compartment.

  • do me a favor and get somw freakin hood shocks

  • I have them... it is a fiberglass hood. when I locate the additional pieces required to install them... I will.

  • You clearly never grasped "Going Fast with Class" 12's in this altitude in street configuration as I would drive it is an easy 11 at sea level. Clearly you overlooked this?

  • wow over kill in areas and not enough in others.this car should easly run mid 10s and no n2o wit the right combinationa of turbo injs and converter.that cotton front mount is for 8 to 9 sec cars.overkill.whos ur mechanic?good luck james

  • I don't beat on it... It is tough to find V-6 motor now...

  • Comment removed

  • Btw... The car clicks off 108 to 110 mph traps in the quarter off the bottle... without trying. Two weekends in a row!

  • "motors" are powered by electricity, "engines" however, are powered by combustible fuels, ie, gasoline, diesel, etc. example: "electric motor" "gas engine."

  • There is clown in every rice burner...

  • Yes! I hate it when people say they have a motor in their car.

  • 9 Years and its not even painted??

  • Nope... not painting it. Here in Colorado Springs, Colorado the moment I paint it and leave it alone 15 minutes it will be stolen and dismantled for someone's lowrider project, or joy rided for the sake of someone's gang initiation.

I have endured it being keyed so many times out of jealousy that frankly I have given up. Sand paper, and some primer... and they can't hurt my feelings.

  • Why is there a fuel filter on the Vac Brake Supply line??

  • LOL... it is a check valve... but funny!

  • Bud

First of all, having the MAF sensor in the "Up" pipe is going to make that car a Bitch to tune.

What Tranny are you running? Stall convertor?

    who's chip are you running?

    Get the MAF Preturbo ASAP.

  • I run a Translator Plus... no issue with it being in the location its in. I don't have any detonation or knock even after twisting the boost above 23 lbs. (I must be doing something right... I haven't spit out any head gaskets in 2 years!)

    Switch Pitch Turbo 400 trans

50lbs chip bought from Precision when I purchased the injectors.

  • I also Run a Trans plus setup.

I run 28 psi with no detonation with an alkycontrol system with 2 nozzles.

I have a lot more stuff than you but I've found tuning the turbulent air that is under pressure very difficult.

You will also benefit from a chip by Turbotweak, it will take advantage of every bit of HP you can squeeze out of your combo.

p.s. the Cotton Front mount is overkill for a 12 second car. you should aim a little faster

    mid 11 is easy

  • Starting tomorrow it will be ZERO... I have a significant oil leak coming from up front somewhere... So I'll be wrench twisting again.

  • WHAT HP RATING ?

  • I only use a small shot... it offsets the lacking air here in Colorado.

I wish I could say I ran a better time this year... an oil leak ended my fun. (Somewhere on the front of the motor) I got to see a bunch of quick cars, and I'll upload a video of the fun too.

  • Nice car. 12s sounds about right

  • I doubt it...

Shooting for a 12.40 on this next outing...

  • Wow, nice motor. You should run in the high to mid 10s with that setup right? Be sure to post a show of force.
