Too much emphasis is being placed on air quality and not enough on fuel economy standards. If cars with engine displacements of 2.0 liters or less acheived average fuel economies in excess of 40 mpg, but only conformed with 1984 pollution standards I would be willing to make an exception for them. I don't mind paying more for energy, I just mind when the dollars I pay leave the country and go to the Middle East. A fuel tax would put emphasis on economy, but clean air legislation is a detriment.

Look it up, call a funeral home, use common sense. Most graves are no longer dug down 6 feet and are a few inches from the top. Tractors, mowers and other machinery used in cemeteries would damage or crush the caskets so liners are used to strengthen the area. Civil war? For fuck's sakes what age are you living in?

Too much emphasis is being placed on air quality and not enough on fuel economy standards. If cars with engine displacements of 2.0 liters or less acheived average fuel economies in excess of 40 mpg, but only conformed with 1984 pollution standards I would be willing to make an exception for them. I don't mind paying more for energy, I just mind when the dollars I pay leave the country and go to the Middle East. A fuel tax would put emphasis on economy, but clean air legislation is a detriment.

There are a few ways to do this.
1. You can live in an area that does not use sodium flouride in the water, such as in a rural/country location, often they use well water from a underground spring.
2. You can purchase water from a supplier that sells flouride free water from either a spring, destillation, or reverse osmossis(sp?) filter system.
3. You can actually buy a filltering system, such as Reverse OM or other type that can remove such Sodium Flouride.

Just because we'll have to invest in renewable energy and take fewer plane rides in the short term, the politicians should keep their eyes on the long-term goal of ensuring there is still a planet worth inheriting for our children.

Having slaves back then was morally accepted. Although it was not right for them to steal people from Africa to use them as they will, they weren't all treated with harsh beatings and abusive practices. It wasn't right but it was more accepted.

Well if Jefferson was such an enlightened and intelligent man maybe he should have seen that it was "not right" to do the things he did in life like having slaves. In fact there really isn't a better way to show(physically) that you do not care about the well being of other people then enslaving them. It is kinda the unlitmate insult and proof that "freedom" wasn't what people like Jefferson really wanted. They wanted money and power...nothing more, nothing less.

Ephesians 6 slaves are told to be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling and Luke 12:43 Jesus doesn't condemn slavery but instead uses it to illustrate the importance of following god's laws. So if you're gonna discredit Jefferson for doing what was the norm at the time, shouldn't you discredit the "word of god" for doing the same, since "god" isn't just a mortal and is the one who really should have known better?
