  • I WILL CRUSH CREATIONISTS LIKE CLAMS ON MY BELLY

    HAIL SCIENCE

  • Coelacanth

  • wow a video with the proper name of the fish

  • u evalutionists r stupid idiots they r not instinct they lived with man for 6,000 years its just an unknown animal

  • there is something hypnotising about the movements of the fins. not a freaking care in the world for that creature. Hey, it's lived for over 50 million years. to hell with predators if time itself couldnt kill it.

  • Just looking at this and i wanna say, how come we're not in space like we are underwater? this is ridiculous! we go to the moon and after that we're like, "Ok guys we got to the moon, lets sit with our thumbs in our asses forever now!" we're all about putting up a new satellite (WOW!) or getting a new lab into space (AMAZE!) when we could have sent at least a dozen or so rockets, which would have been no doubt improved compared to the predecessor... GET OFF YOUR ASS NASA

  • What the hell goldenkirby lol u know how difficult it is to get funds to do all these projects? I give NASA kudos to all their achievements. And plus, it's not nearly as easy to explore space as it is to explore underwater...geeze.

  • @goldenkirby We know more about the moon than we do the deep oceans.

  • @gregrutz Not that much to know about the moon, though. it's a rock, it's in space, and it's dusty.

Next, identify the rocks. Done. Then the age of some stuff. Done.

It doesn't even have an atmosphere to interfere with orbital telescopes.

  • Beautiful

  • Wait, wait wait! Look carefully it might start using its fins to walk on the bottom of the ocean floor.

Give it a few more minutes, or days, maybe years, or centuries, millennium's, just wait and you will see.

  • OMG ITS RELICANTH

  • yes, it is coelacanth.

  • ROFL! relicanth from pokemon ur so funny!

  • @goldenkirby

LMFAO! random pokemon comment must be thumbed up!

  • good

  • if you can find a coelacanth im pretty sure there should be at least 1 megladon it would make my day

  • humanity sucks

  • its completely retarded to try to say this might be endangered considering they live too deep to get an accurate number of them

the oceans too big and deep for current technology to even come close to exploring which is why some people believe that the megaladon may still exist

  • they way it move's is amazing

  • Oh goody a coelacanth! *sniff* oh I'm sorry...Seeing this made me cry. Its like seeing a memento of a dead friend.

  • Something like the Cloverfield monster may exist under the ground somewhere, its not likely but its possible, if you combined the ocean and underground together humans have only explored about 5% of all of it

  • Coelacanth!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The reason its on its head is beacause of the electrical currents. go to the library and rent FOSSIL FISH FOUND ALIVE its awsome or just look up Coelacanth onn google.

  • wow, thats incredible. i wonder what all those fins are for...maybe to stabilize vertically for bottom feeding?..then why not evolve into some kind of flounder? i guess its emo, doesn't wanna conform.

  • Once thought to be extinct..and there it is. So much for knowing everything !

  • the fish is so beautiful... it's a shame it's so close to extinction...

  • We (as human beings) are pushing it to extinction....So much for a happy surviving story huh?

  • the only reason that its still around is because its tooo ugly to eat lol

  • Well, and because it lives deep enough to be very infrequently caught. And its flesh is not very good for eating.

We don't yet know much about coelacanths to be able to evaluate whether they're endangered. The current consensus seems to be that they have a very small population in the first place, since they bear few offspring (and bear them alive), grow slowly, and subsist in a very nutrient-poor environment.

  • Yes it is coelacanth

So if coelacanth survive why don't Loch ness oso survive ?

  • 1 monster can't live in 1 lake for hundreds of years.

  • LIES!!!!!

(with a low enough metabolic rate, and the ability to continously create stem cells, it is possible to live for ever becuz it could remake its brain, heart and other important parts that would otherwise be irreplaceable)(this is also proof of a god or EVOLUTION would have created sumthin like that)

  • Actually, similar strategies in nature DO create organisms that live for a very long time. The reason stem cells aren't created indefinitely is due to energy consumption, and is not sustainable in the long term, or at all with a lower metabolism.

Additionally, propagation and replacement of neurons is not yet very well-understood.

Long story short, nothing lives forever because energy is finite. Available resources need to be recycled.

  • i think its a Coelacanth

  • This was the fish they were talking about in Cloverfield down in the subway.

  • looks so tight

  • STOP! STOP!! MAKING RETARDED DEBATES ON EVOLUTION AND CHRISTIANITY ON EVERY SINGLE VIDEO THAT SHOWS A LIVING FOSSIL!!! listen all: The fish is there OK? OK!, there is proof that these fishes lived milions of years ago (so please no retarded comments such as carbon dating is against religion) OK? OK!,so since the fish IS THERE why argue on the fact that it came out from a slime pond or was made by the almighty creator,IS THERE a reason to argue on it?i suggest time travel,oh no wait its satanic.

  • Repped for logic.

  • i love it...

  • Carbon dating is against Christianity? tee hee hee. I looked at another video of this fish and people were picking it up and mauling it and laughing. It wasn't what I wanted to see... Also try watching the video of the prehistoric shark.

  • That fish is AWESOME. <-first thought at seeing it.

  • Seriously though, I love this vid. It's kinda mesmerizing to see how they coordinate all those fins.

  • beautiful fish

  • Yea its a coelacanth, the species of coelacanth that lived millions of years ago is extinct. This is a different type of Coelacanth so don't day this poses a problem for evolution morons

  • different type means another type of proof...

  • Latimeria

  • i think it's a latemeria because of how narrow it's body is. but im no marine biologist, just a guess.

  • deadriser1, you are a fuckin retard.

it is a coelacanth, the grow to be even larger than that...

this is the same footage from the national geographic special.

  • that is not a coelacnth guys it has too many fins and its lots bigger

  • you do not know shit!!!!!!!!!!!

  • neither do you mate thats clearly a coelacnth.

  • It's a coelacanth.

It was believed extinct until rediscovered in 1930.

They tend to live in deep ocean trenches, so they're hard to catch. The way it moves is probably to preserve energy.

  • whats funny is that living fossiles arn't that old there was a fossilised top hat found in america te hat was dating back from the 1990s lol

  • that is a coelacanth -_-

    numb nuts

  • naw really read my comment before making yourself look like a idiot

  • i dont think i was looking at your comment.

    of course it changed fool

    evolution takes place everywhere

    im not dumb.

  • if you believe in god? fine but leave those alone who dont believe in it , same with jehova's they need to fuck off in front of my door , i dont give a fuck if god excists just leave me alone and looke at the fckin video

  • thats a coelacanth, dumbshit not a latermeria

  • ya no that is a latermeria. i dont think coelacanths have that many fins but then again who am i

  • It is a coelacanth - Latimeria is its genus.

Perhaps you'd like to look into things a little more before chucking insults around. Running your mouth like that makes you look like a little kid, and causes me to discard your comments out of hand.

  • Becoming immune to virus' or virus' becoming immune to antidote? all primitive mutation... but still...

look... the thing is... like voting and the idea that one can become famous... well... religon is just a way to control the masses. good luck to you, think about what choices you have made... have you made any? are you living free or is your life full of restriction and control? dont think too hard about your answer if you would like to remain "happy" and dosile. Regards.

  • ht tp :// you tube . com / watch ?v= Um5j tu9x 8TA

    LOL an atheist worst nightmare.

ht tp :// you tube . com / watch ?v= udqo CGP nVmE

  • Holy hell u guys sound smart lol talkin about theorys and stufff

  • It moves its fins like that cuz it was made in China.

  • i've never seen a fish that alternates its fins that way.

  • If you imagine the fins as limbs it looks like its running moving its limbs the same way as a lizard, elephant, horse or human (its still there in us.. in how we swing our hands forward and back in time with its opposite leg when we walk)

  • It doesn't "Blast a hole" the evolution theory at all. It merely shows that if conditions do not change, animals will stay the same. The conditions that far under the ocean are almost exactly the same as the oceans millions of years ago, therefore the fish did not need to adapt.

  • "MoltoAccellerando245", Investigate evolution more closely, fossil dates are based on geological layers and geological layers are based on fossils. This is called circular reasoning, one unfounded thing supporting another unfounded thing.

They also make conclusions based off of extinct creatures, so if the creatures are not really extinct guess what happens (or should happen) to those conclusions?

  • Well

I mean, we can also carbon date fossils without too much difficulty. That's kind of outside this "circular reasoning" of yours.

  • Carbon dating is based on the Geological table, that's the point.

  • Wrong! Carbon dating is based on the heredic, atheist "theory of radioactivity" (TOR)

TOR claims that matter is unstable and falls apart emitting deadly radiation. TOR is antithetical to the concept of a perfect world created by an infallible, loving God. This is why all true christians must reject carbon dating.

  • Where is your source of information from? Can you please list your sources? Web links and all? I'd like to find out if it's from the "Wedge" campaign from evangelicals who go out of their way to swindle gullible young minds to make up words that aren't in the dictionary like "evolutionsist" or that it's a "doctrine" to full people into ignoring real science.

  • Cephalochordata "This is why all true Christians must reject carbon dating"

How in the world did you get this idea?

After the fall of man everything was corrupted & like you said material breaks down eventually.

Entropy is based on this principle; things get less organized, not more.

  • have your ever heard f a pollystraightfossil? its a fossilized tree that is acctually between multiple strata layers, so now i ask you, do you honestly believe that a tree can tand for that long? i already know your answer so dont bother, also these trees do no varry and are not in certain areas, they canbe found on every continent (except antarctica) if that doesnt punch a hole through the evolution theory then i dont know what more to say...

  • If this is real it may blast another hole in the evolution theory.

  • hoots7 you said it another hole and A big hole in the theory i'd say..

  • Possibly the dumbest statement I've read in quite some time! Cheers!

  • u wanna no why this fish hasnt changed??

caz from the time its born, to the time it dies, it just floats there. staring at the same dam rock, like you can see in this video.

    lol

  • agrees. Impressed me that it's still alive after being so dumb for so many years LOL

  • Why hasnt this fish changed in 15 million years, science is cool, but some try to hijack it

  • Creatures that are well-adapted to an unchanging environment won't evolve. Geologic isolation and niche explotation can stop evolution just like that. We have only explored about 5% (i'm being nice here) of the ocean, so it is not unlikely for us to find these things.

  • Well, actually Evolution only teaches "Chance Mutation" there is no room for intelligent changes due to any external factors, its just supposed to be random mindless mutating, Good day

  • so you beleive a being created you all?

    who created him or her?

  • Oh boy. The theory of evolution does not say that all organisms must evolve. Like I said, in an unchanging environment, natural selection would tend to keep things largely unchanged morphologically. Also like the title says this is a latemeria a relitive of the coelacanth however it is significantly different in that they are smaller and lack certain internal structures.

  • Let me clear up that last sentence. The latemeria is a reletive of the coelacanth, however the coelacanth is significantly different in that they are smaller and lack certain internal structures. Proof reading, it works when you use it.

  • Well they both taste like tuna

  • Well, I have to say, that change(mutation) is almost certain when you follow the evolution chain, to not change is the oddity.

  • Again I point out that the key word in your statement is ALMOST. I'm talking about evolution by means of natural selection, the Latemeria is highly adapted with no environmental pressure to force a change, the crocodile is in the same situation. You see natural selection is a non-random selection of random variables, so yes it can be called "intelligent changes". Does that make sense, I really can't think of anyother way to say it.

  • So are you saying only the best of the best mutate? I dont see it that way, I see mutation happening without outside factors of how happy a creature is. Thanks for the civil dialog

  • Well in reality the "best of the best" will not change as drastically as others over time. One important change in the latemeria is it's ability to survive in deep waters (200ft/60m), the coelacanth lived in shallow water. To overcome the water pressure at that depth, is no easy feat. So it evolved more internally than externally. Just another branch in a tree.

  • "Thanks for the civil dialog"

Nothing is gained without it, except for hostility.

If you want, check out some books on natural selection. Even if you don't "belive" in the evolutionary theory, I think it is still worth a look as it is a very important feature in nature.

  • I believe the old, sick and slow Zebras get eaten, that much I agree. Interesting you say this fish mutated the ability to live in high pressure, that was a handy mutation (without knowing what high pressure was). Peace to you and your loved ones

  • I think your looking at this the wrong way. "evolution" is gradual. IMO there was readily available food near the bottom of the ocean, and thus, this fish had to reach down deeper. He had offspring there, the ones that didn't "mutate" the ability to live that far down died. The ones that did, went even deeper. so on and so on. That in itself is already evolution. 10 000 generations down the road who knows what may happen.

  • Yes, however the process of progressive mutation leading to the ultimate goal of structural adaptation, seems to imply an understanding of environmental limitations(on the creature) and consequent corrective action.

  • isnt that a coelacanth

  • awsome! i wonder if it was one from the age of the dinosaurs!

  • yep it was and it is unchanged

  • pweettyy

  • i think its mental..=/

  • LOL oyu guys it is a coelacanth, Latemeria Chulumnae is the name of the species, so everyone is right!! :)

  • This is weird!

  • It would be cool if there were like tons of em still out there and we just havent seen the major area of em.

  • that's not a latemeria or whatever a latemeria is...it's a coelocanth. Very interesting thing indeed, it's like finding a T-rex walking around LOL XD

  • that animal has a WHOLE latta fins.

  • they say that theres about 1000 of them left =(

  • latemeria? i think its coelocanth

  • COOL!!!!! CAN WE EAT THAT KIND OF FISH?

  • you deserve to get smacked

  • no laws of evolution have been broken, gearzone...

The coelocanth has obviously been perfectly suited to it's environment for millions of years and thus, it has had no need to adapt and evolve. Maybe YOU should read 'The Origin of Species'?

  • amazing.she is so beautiful!

  • Stop breaking the laws of Evoulution. Ignorant people read The Theory of Evolution and the Origin of Species numbheads!=)

  • This is yet another reason that your silly little god does not exist.Stop wasting your time science is churning out the facts of evolution . All of you bible people are beleiving in something there is no proof or evidence of ?.When you look at it from my perspective you bible folk soom awfully stupid. I mean i can say i own 5 mansions and 10 sports cars but until you see them they are just good stories not facts!.

  • Read Hebrews 11:1 and thank you for your comment. Here's a message shattered evolution. the problem of species has become a major unsolved problem of the evolutionists, becuz they cannot figure out where they came from. Perfectly mathching partners amale and female would have had to evolve togeder at each step. evol. cannot explain this. now thats a facts.

  • that is a fact written in a book by ancient people who did not have access to carbon dating and modern scientific principles. LOOK I DO NOT WANT TO UPSET YOU I JUST FEEL FOR YOU .I HOPE ONE DAY YOU WILL REALISE HOW STUPID YOU AND YOUR KIND LOOK TO US .

  • found this kind of argument in a Family Guy vid once OMG ppl stop arguing everyone has their beliefs k

  • carbon dating an access of facts that this evolution occured? lol give me any evidence taht supports that. lol well nomuken15x when you say I am stupid. That makes you unintelligent person. When in fact Im not disproving your argument. Since its not your fault why you believe this and your so called proof the carbon dating method. I dont think a person who denies evolution is stupid.

  • sry but, ummm it does not take 1 sentence to disprove something as big as evolution buddy, just because there's 1 fossil out of a 1 million that remained the same, now people started to cling on to that to support themselves.. so when they proved why it didn't change, what other excuse are people going to cling on to now?

  • omgitslong, theres many types of evolution. its logical to think my sentence woudn't fit every evidence. thats what we are here for! Correct the falsiness of Evolution! And we could dump our supertitious theory to the trashcans! The more you asks the greater the damnable is the evolution! Keep silent and believe! sounds like religion to me. Im glad scientists keep up the works!

  • FUCK YOU

  • Typical comment of a desperate person who can find an inteligent comeback

  • 1) LOL I am not desperate 2) What I said is inteligent because its true, you sound upset is this fish hitting a nerve for you?

  • you have no idea , god boy

  • You said 'my little god does not exist', correct your evidence first. 'No proof or evidence of'<-- check if faith is base on science. Oh yea, nomuken I'll stick in Creation rather than silly fairy tale 'in the beginning there was nothing and whoops that nothingness exploded' lol yep! The bible was written for a thousand of years. Different people which they never meet nor recognize each others yet the books was written by a rulers, servants, fishermen, sheperds, queen, prophets, etc...

  • so you beleive a being created you all?

    who created him or her?

  • Thats the great question its it, matter had to come from something, and yet what is endless eternity

  • you have failed to answer the question.

  • Your 1st is answer by matter having to come from something 2nd question answered that we dont understand eternity grass hopper.

  • you fail!

  • you fail!

  • can you specify what are you saying here. Had no Idea what are you saying here.

  • I dont get what are you saying here!

  • Protolegs are goddamn terrifying.

  • its a cielocanth

  • it's fins are strangely relaxing....

  • Cilantro?

  • coelocanth i would guess

  • celacanto?

  • i guess every people saw the living fossil old shark n msn is going here on tube to find some more ei!

  • that is not the same video they got on msn. The video on msn is a frilled shark ,this video is a coelacanth fish.

  • is this the same vidoe the had on msn??

  • looks like a big fighter fish

  • wierd.
