This is like attacking the "lie" that we have an odd number of branches of government. "It's a lie the schools taught you!" you plead. "We don't have an odd number of branches, we have three!"
Our constitutional republic is a form of representative democracy, which is just a particular form of democracy. Hating on the so called "pure" democracy isn't going to change that.
If there were no democratic articles [the method itself of electing officials and passing legislation], how would your Republic elect representative officials or pass new laws as they are needed to confront modern issues?
If we still had the republic we were promised 234 years ago our nations agenda would originate from the people. It would flow from us through congress, though the senate, through the oval office and back to us. As it stands we have a democratic dictatorship. The president is setting the agenda, congress writes bill reflecting his agenda, senate votes on said bills, the president signs said bills and we get what ever it is they want us to have. NOT FUCKING COOL!
Even worse...our Congress has devised the "Nuclear Option" which allows for any - previously non voted on - bill to be attached to a Bill that has been approved by the House and Senate and is in reconciliation in order to match the language of the Final Bill.
This is how the 700 or so Billion Dollar TARP Bill was mashed through the two houses; without full deliberation and without allowance for fillibuster...completely against the grain of the Founders and the Founding Principles
All Spending Bills are to originate in the House of Representatives...the TARP Bill, said previously, originated in the Senate and was included onto the shirt tail of another Bill.
The supreme court has ruled that the 50 states are countries with respect to each other but under the 14th amendment system you are participating in rebellion against your de jure country when you vote, through contract as well and that is why you have to pay IRS and so forth.. and are responsible for the national debt. watch all 6 vids for more info please watch watch?v=G1B33IvnJ4M&feature=ch annel_page
@underdog92z The US is a Constitutional Democracy also called a Democratic Republic. Republic is the format of the government, as indicated by the constitution - the method by which the government IS RUN is a democracy as in the Democratic method being employed to pass legislation and also to elect representatives of the people. It is therefore A Democratic Republic, or if you'd like, you can call it a Constitutional Democracy they are often used interchangeably.
