  • Thank you for this great tutorial! Normally when my guitar teacher teachs me songs he after I learn a new part he doesn't play the whole song using what ive learned so far before again. Thanks you! Btw Im 11 :)

  • Thanks man! I'm so powning my friends with this! = D

  • Great job!

  • You are such a GREAT teacher! Thank you so much for your extremely helpful videos!

  • Even though Paul might play it this way - it still doesn't make sense. The "Take your broken wings" part...C diad with e then transpose to the D(whatever) chord using the same fingering. So 5th str 5th fret, 2nd str 8th fret...and so on. Instead of going back and forth transposing, it's far easier to keep the same basic fingering with a little stretch. Hope that makes sense - far easier for beginners to play. I don't know all the names of the chords nor why, I just do it. Thanks again.

  • I have a takamine!

thanks so much for this tutorial, it's really helped.

Love this song too, it's beautiful. :]

  • Awsome teaching technique, One thing I'd change is the repetitiveness at which you start the song.

I always find myself having to move ahead to get to what I need to learn next. Maybe its not a bad thing to always start at the beginning ? even on lesson 4. But I appreciate your efforts to teach people like myself, and I do greatly learn from you. Thanks. Any further songs will be greatly appreciated. Hell I'd evan pay for the lessons.

    Thanks again,

    Ken

  • Thanks Macca..been playing blackbird wrong for about 15 years!! got it down straight thanks to you..once again, thanks!

  • You may have been playing right! I've seen alot of neat variations of this song - so your version may be just fine! Thanks for sharing and for the nice nice comment.

  • i might be really talented but i can play to the exact speed and rhythm as you in a matter or 3 attempts of practice. Such a simple piece yet so remarkably good! moving onto he next section now, at this rate i might finish tonight! thanks again, its hard to find a piece like this to play and to actually find someone who has a video that teaches you how to play it. I wonder, can you play bert jansh's 'Angie' or 'running from home'?

  • I agree! A simple, yet remarkable piece. One of my favourite Beatle compositions. Thanks for the nice comments as well. I know "Angie" by the Rolling Stones - but not Bert Jansh's song/version. I'll have to look both of those pieces up - now you have me curious. Thanks again.

  • I am a 52 yr. old single mom who has never played guitar before. With these videos I have learned almost the entire song in a couple of weeks. What an outstanding teacher! God bless you!

  • Thanks for the nice comment! I honestly don't think that my videos are anything great, and I didn't think that many people would find them useful, so this made my day! Thanks again.

  • Heey! Thanks for this. I learned how to play blacbird from your videos! Awesome!

    \o/

  • Thank you so much! I've been watching the first three videos for the last couple hours learning this song! Great job!

  • hey Mac, super job - I can't believe people will whine when it is good and FREE hahaha.

    Which Tak are you playing.

    Thanks for contributing so selflessly.

    Regards

    PS

  • Nice post, thank you.

I think your tunning is off between your two

    guitars though.

  • This is very helpful, but if it was slower it would be even better. Twice done slowly is better than 3 times faster.

    Thanks

  • Thanks for the note. If I do more, I'll definitely slow them down. I'm certainly not a professional, so I'm just thrilled that people are finding these videos useful.

  • THANKS MACC!!!

  • good stuff! thanks a lot!

  • you broke and down and made it easy for me. you did pretty good for a guy with a canadian accent!!

  • LOL!!

  • ,ac can you teach us how to play dear prudence by the beatles your really a great teacher thank you

  • at first i thought it was really difficult. but you made it really easy. thanks alot.

  • Maccalennonstarr, your teaching style has done me quite well! I really had gotten out of guitar there for a while and thought I needed to learn this gem. It took very little time to get it sounding proper, and that is thanks to you! Your patience and empathy is warming. Please keep the lessons coming(for other songs)!

  • Man, it´s me again! I´m so glad because now I can play, coming for the 4th part! Thanks! I´ll keep practising!

I've been looking for a video that taught it, but i didn't find any video so good as this one, the other ones where really complicated.

    rated by 5 stars!
