I heard with no lift shift you still have to controll the clutch like a normall shift so really its not any easyer then letting off the gas hitting the clutch and shifting cause you still cant just let off and pop the clutch youll probly destroy the clutch with to much popping or letting off reallllly fast lol
yea its the no lift shift that does that. when i test drove one and tried it, it bogged it way more down than needed. but when you shift normal she runs like a champ!!
no that guy just needs the driver mod. he sucks at launching. you are going to get that chirp from 1st to 2nd whether you no lift or traditional shift... if you DO a traditional shift, it bogs when you shift to 2nd, with the no shift as long as you aren't spinning through 1st, you can no lift shift to 2nd and keep your boost and rpms up, from 2-3 the no lift is very effective and you hear this "pop" from the exhaust when you nail it.
for everyone who thinks chevy is trying to go jap you obviously dont know nothing. chevy along with all other american car companys are building cars that people can drive in now days economy. (gas being $4.00 a gallon). they made a car that gets good gas milage and still has power. i own a 08 TBSS and a damn fast 97 camaro that guzzle gas like a mother. and im thinking about getting a cobalt SS. there quick little cars and you cant beat the price and gas milage and power.
Takes all skill of mastering a clutch car out of the picture, i know id never let anyone drive my baby if they owned one of thos they wouldnt know how to drive a stick car other then that
they are just average people, that suck at launching. the car supposed to hit 0-60 in 5.7 seconds, which is good for a car that starts at $22,950. it is a better deal than the new wrx's, which have the same time, and cost $25,000.
wow you can read numbers that are given to you on the sticker... pretty good pretty good and VladimirU235... I AGREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! Chevy trying to be a ricer. LMFAO. and mcromance1 get over it, the cobalt will never amount to ANY car besides a geo metro
if you let off the clutch slowly you wouldnt bog out like that.... and from what i heard on the new cobalt ss you dont have to let off the gas when you shift.
i still wouldnt get the cobalt ss... american trying to be jap, german, ectr... aint going to work. they should make it a small block! hahah that would be sick! like the G8
no lift shift is there just to keep boost

seems like it bogs out realy bad in first.. been wathing the videos on this 08' ss cobalt. and all them seem to bog real bad in first
buildabong 4 years ago
yeah,that wasnt a good launch,
wellshii 3 years ago
but if u look at other videos they all do it.
buildabong 3 years ago
cuz theyre all just people tryin it out, and they let of the clutch slow....they dont dump it

buildabong 3 years ago
that would be power shifting and thats bad if u dont do it rite and it will eat ur clutch eventually
TTTXM 3 years ago
yeh but the new ss has a no lift shift feature on in which is gay...
buildabong 3 years ago
why is it gay?
mcromance1 3 years ago
because even a 2 year old can drive a no lift shift car... And its just plain retarded.
buildabong 3 years ago
actually 2 year olds can't drive, they can't even look over the steering wheel and reach the pedals.
mcromance1 3 years ago
doesnt mean you have to use it
if you can drive a clutch well then you will probably be faster without it, its for people that want a quick car and cant drive a standard.
Ace28233 3 years ago
do u even know what u are talking about?
buildabong 3 years ago
yes, do you?
Ace28233 3 years ago
sounds like its geared a bit too long, and he prolly popped the clutch before he had any gas.
