Exceedingly close to an extremely distant world.... any way I try to think about it, it still comes across as confusing to me.... I think that they meant to do that ^^
@ThePistlwhipr actually this makes sense, according to quantum physics, parallel dimensions are only displaced microns away from each other (they sort of overlap) but to reach them you need to breach the void between universes
@ShadowcatAlfa When you put it that way, I guess it does make sense. However, it hasn't been proven that there is in fact a parallel dimension from our own, as intriguing as that does sound. Not that that matters, since this is in fact a cartoon. ^^
@ThePistlwhipr And hopefully in one of those parallel dimensions, Banpresto has released model kits of the R-1, R-2 Powered and R-3 Powered that can actually perform the Variable Formation correctly.
@infringementMAN Well there is a toy set of the SRX that transforms but it looks kinda shoddy and doesn't combine together the way it does in the anime.
@infringementMAN I looked in more on it and it disappoints me even more. The torso and thighs of the SRX come as different pieces from the R-2 and R-3. Which means to do Variable Formation ya need to yank the R-series apart and stick them together onto different bases. R-1 doesn't lock its legs into the back of the SRX and R-2 doesn't open like a potato. R-3 doesn't fold up like a transformer either :(
Gekijouban Tengen Toppa Gurren Laggan has ABSOLUTELY no place here! Kamina and Simon would get their asses handed to them by Folka, Sanger, Wodan, Masaki, (need I go on?). SRW>TTGL any day. NEVER make silly references to an inferior anime! (I'm just messin with ya ^^)
This song really brings out my hot-blooded side, but still... when it comes to hot-blooded theme music, it's a tie between Roar, One who Breaks Supremacy, and Time to Come. It might be Roar, though. Yep, Folka can't be beat =D
The only thing I find interesting is how long the new name for this song is. "Exceedingly Close, to an Extremely Distant World"...now that's a mouthful.
@Hakkun9872 It's simply translation--this one just uses the more literal translation, whereas "So Close, Yet So Far" is more of a localized translation.
@TrombeX2 The Japanese name quite literally means "a world exceedingly close, infinitely distant." So Close, Yet so Far, is the official translation, while the name of this video is a more accurate one.
Lol I just imagine two pilot's playing an epic duo on electric guitars. Sounds very cool.

vysaga gotta be the one and only mech deserving this theme just because angelg has its ash to ash!

@Jaybotify I absolutely agree with you ^^. No other mech deserves such a great BGM like this except the almighty Vaisaga!

I can't be the only one who uses this for Lamia instead of Ash to Ash.
Especially since Ash to Ash is kinda boring...

@darkmirage0 Correctly? The model kits don't even do that in the first place.
infringementMAN 10 months ago
@infringementMAN Would be oh so cool if they could though.
berserkberserker 10 months ago
@berserkberserker Agreed. But I'd rather have the toy set rather than model kits. Transforming model kits are very fragile.

@darkmirage0 You mean you don't pull a lever while shouting Variable Formation (with music) and deploy a T-Link Field? Awww :D
In seriousness, yeah I've seen it. I think there's video of it here somewhere. It does look kinda shoddy. Hopefully Soul of Chogokin will make one.

Its actual translation should be close to something like 'To The World Exceedingly Close, Yet, Extremely Far'

Interesting as to how these songs have two names.....very interesting....

Well, it really just has one. The difference just comes from how it's translated.

True, but the other names eventually become fanon, which is then often taken for canon.
