I used to watch this cartoon religiously. I loved how they dived into not just fairy tales but classical stories, literature, and myths with a variety of every different animated medium. Just a great show. I hope that its out on DVD someday.

I remember this show. My sister would watch it and be like "that's not how the real story goes." so I went to the library and told the librarian I wanted the real fairy tale stories and she got me this old boring looking book. I checked it out and read it where crazy stuff happens. Holy crap I was like "wtf?!" and I was only 7 or 8.

@blindman182 Grimm is many, many things. Dark, light, sad, happy, scary, fantastical, domestic, funny and about a million others. To try and whittle down a book that has over 200 stories in it and was meant to represent a major chunk of German folklore, a one word description can't possibly be apt.

@kaidose My older sister, who has the orignial Bros. Grimm fairy tale book (Not THE original, but the original Bros. Grimm writers I should ay), tells me the same thing. The only episode in the original GFTC cartoon that didn't end so happily was "The Naughty Spirit," which ended on a rather somber note depending on which character you may have been pulling for.

Well they don't play stuff by Pixar. Indeed Pixar doesn't actually make any shows for television. Though Nickelodeon does air a lot of 3D animated shows, they're not on par (animation or story wise) at all with anything Pixar does, or has done theatrically.
