  • Dominique got his own tone sounds realy epic

  • Me lembra uma canção do Wando.

  • What planet is Trilok from again?

  • 7:52 - 9:18: He's talking in tongues; "the power of Christ compels you, the power of Christ compels you".

  • @Zootallure lol STFU! it's hindustani bol/konakkol.

  • also great - unisono at the end

  • *****

  • époustouflant !!!.

  • trop stylé ces mec!!

  • Does anyone know the name of this song ?

  • Comment removed

  • @AdrienELC

    "Que Alegria"

  • God bless Trilok....he's so awesome!!

    John's alright too ; )

  • insane

  • @Spartanmagik666; JM's playing humbles pretty much everyone -- that certainly doesn't make the music you make worthless.

I sat front row for one of his concerts decades ago; the man and his guitar were like one. Music is a language for him and he's completely fluent.

BTW, he has a series of instructional videos in which he shares a lot of his 'secrets'.

  • @YouzTube99

    Great response to Spartanmagik666!

  • I'm such a Di Piazza fan !!!

Just went to a concert last night in Paris, with Di Piazza and Sebastien Charlier.

    Wonderful !!!

They played an amazing duet on "In a Sentimental Mood".

    Two geniuses !

  • @JersiMuse Its actually Genii when referring to multiple people which are genius. But when referring to one person with multiple qualities of genius, its geniuses.

  • @benjaminpcornelius : ok. I've learnt something today !! Let's says it is something like a group of geniuses genii :-)

BTW, the duet on Sentimental Mood is on my channel if you are intereseted ...

    See you,

    Jerome

  • man I love the way they improvise with making sounds...you can use alot and in special ways to make the weirdest sounds, and it might even sound perfect to the setting! like this! loved it. 5/5

  • damn what a lovely bass solo. and i love his tone and style nomather what people say!;)

  • non ci sono parole......maestosi!

  • are those plastic string?

What is that guitar model anyway!

    Wanna have it! :)

  • this is marielle guitar

    it's a fantastic guitar i agree

  • uswavlia dakvra jons

  • When I got "Que Alegria", the album this is from, I was working at a jazz station in Tennessee at the time. I loved this album, listened to it constantly. He came to concert at MTSU in the early '90s in support of this album and he was a total gentleman. Fantastic concert.

  • power creative

  • fukin unbelivable. he is a fantastic drummer

  • amazing man ! , mclaughlin and dipiazza blend so well ! ,

  • phenomenal

  • Is this Belo horizonte?

  • This Is "Guitar Legend" of Sevilla EXPO'92.

    Song Is "Que Allegria".

  • Thank you man!

  • You're welcome!

  • Why do concert music directors hate bassists so much? DdP is playing his arse off and the camera keeps panning away!

  • Check out most of the bass solo videos on youtube - that's the theme, IGNORING THE BASSIST! Oh well, we didn't get into this for fame...it must be the...girls?

  • YEP. Chicks dig bassists. ^^

  • For some reason I think DiPiazza (a pastor and devout Christian) got into music for the girls. Brilliant musician anyhow.

  • @Harmless71453 Agreed! But all of them are so fucking Out of This World, remember seeing them in Gothenburg 1993 or something like that : ) Mindblowing Experience however ! ! !

  • so great , i love it

  • french people dont know how to speak english ????

  • lol ;)

  • From my personal experience, many of them find it insulting or what to speak any language but the mighty Francais.

When I was in Paris, I didn't manage to get a single word of them in English. I spoke in ENglish, they answered in French - what the hell is that?!

  • Yes , Obviously in Paris, they speak French, they don't care if you're talking another language they keep speaking french... but I'm French , I don't consider my Language as a "Mighty " thing lol !

That's just that French is one of the most difficult languages to speak , and even in France many people doesn't master it FULLY, and since it's WAY harder to speak than English, if you're not talking french, you don't deserve they do any effort for you...that's how they think about it ^^

  • But we're very Impressed by Englisgh people speaking french ;) , it's very hard even for us.

Yesterday I jammed with an american bass player, we talked in English....the young french generation is very open-minded you know......but yeah there are still many old arrogant guys thinking if you're not talking french you're just shit.

  • It may seem rude that someone would respond to an English spoken question in the native tongue of the country your in, but it may be that they feel you need to learn the language. I know Americans that feel this way about non-english speaking visitors. I'm not one to mind any language. I need a translator if it's not English.

  • @Slayerplsko - Did you make any effort to speak French to the Parisians? my French is woeful but because I took a phrase-book and made an effort they were friendly. If you don't make an effort they deem it rude, which is quite understandable.

  • Merveilleux! Magique!

Me consta hermano.

  • it reminds me to !florianopolis! one of the best tune he has. or is it?

  • i just saw john and dominique play last night.. really great musicians..

  • Love the sound those Drums and Triloks style. My fav as a drummer/musician!!!

  • Pure musical genius in three forms

  • One of the Best Guitar performances i have ever seen..John Genius !

  • Gambale is a dwarf compared to JM on acoustic. He's sloppy (listen to Eternal Child), John's lines are infinitely more complex and his left hand fluidity is untouchable. Never heard Gambale playing anything as subtle and beautiful as John at 3:27-3:32

  • Thanx for your comment, monoidal. You're right - here we see and hear three giants playing together. Dwarfs and envious cleverdicks just drop their stupid comments in public forums...

  • sorry guys, but this in a perfect trio!

    like gambale, berlin and colaiuta...

    ...what a great years...

  • I am also of the opinion that your comment is gibberish, except that you think it is dull. This is very clear, and WRONG! Well, not so much wrong as missing the boat. You are all wet!

  • ...the technique is amazing...wow.

  • Plank.

  • Yours as in "Composition"

    Your as in "Your Trio"

  • This is pants-tighteningly awesome.

  • This is an Awesome Trio!!! If anybody wants to critize Mclaughlin or the trio then lets hear one of yours or your trio? I f you can do better we are all ears...and would love to hear it.

  • trilok is an engima

  • that is what I think, and Dominique is one of the best bass-players ever !

  • whats he playing here? do you know?

    peace

  • Hi wilko! the title is "Que alegria"

    greetings from germany, florafox!

  • no, i meant what bass is dominique playing. sorry for the confusion...

    peace

  • That would be a Warwick Streamer Stage 1 5 string.... A very sweet bass, I just got one!

  • Typondis you made as much sense as a retarded gerbil. If your going to be pretentious at least be amusing.Like an american who nearly read a book..pff

  • Dominique...I love your feeling :)))

  • Genius...

  • very good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i seem to recall an interview with mclaughlin shortly after que allegria came out he said of di piazza "jaco is alive and well"

    how talanted he is indeed!

  • impresionante jhon mclaughin!!

    gracias german!!

  • This is fantastic stuff! I can see DiPiazzas 3 finger technique in this vid clearly.

  • wonderful! i hadn't seen or heard the bassist before but......

  • john mclaughlin trio, QUE ALEGRIA cd

  • Life enhancing If any form of music made lfe worth living this is it. Spellbinding.

  • There is a wonderful show of this trio in BERLIN 1991. they play ALL the best pieces of this JM´s period. Good camera work and John´s on fire.

  • thanks for posting! i hung with trilok and domi both amazing amazing. . . . .

  • Juanito MacRisa es Dios!

  • vocals

  • Thanks for this historical moment ! What a wonderful song. DiPiazza and Gurtu are awesome too.

  • NICE NICE PIECE, JOHN soloing at his best! inspirational music.

  • Johnny Mac at his best. One of greatest trios ever.
