They left Raycroft & Toskala out to dry. Think of Raycroft and Vesa back in Boston & SJ respectfully, Raycroft won rookie of the year, Vesa was comparable to Nabokov.
This year and last year, Toronto is far into rebuilding and the team is better with Komisarek & Phaneuf.

Monster´s stats 0.900% 3.14 gaa not really a super goalie to be honest, Toskala has been crap thou, good job Leafs on letting Rask go to Bruins:) , idiots really.
in the 2007/2008 season, Vesa Toskala had respectable stats considering how bad the Leafs underachieved and how bad they played that year. His G.A.A was lower than 3 and Save % was I believe .905 or something.

Lost confidence means he doesnt play angles he plays goaline (which is never good). He will play better once the pressure lifts.

Look at the last 4-5 games of the season after he had his MRI and had some training. And the leafs got 1 new goaltender. As a back up who is better than cujo. Yet, you wouldn't know that since you don't want any of our games.
2. Have you ever watch a Canadiens game other than when it's vs. Toronto? Have you seen some of our goals? Tanguay vs Atlanta ring a bell, or Lang vs. Rangers, or even Koivu vs Sharks (feed from D'agostini) or EVEN A.Kostistyn has some crazy goals. Don't start acting as if you've seen some of our goals, when you know obviously nothing about the franchise.

in the 2007/2008 season, Vesa Toskala had respectable stats considering how bad the Leafs underachieved and how bad they played that year. His G.A.A was lower than 3 and Save % was I believe .905 or something.
Now his game went down and I always wondered since, what happened?

He lets in bad goal after goal. Team sucks true but you got to have a goalie capable making of timely saves, he just doesnt do that.
The same team becomes lot more competitive when the Monster is standing between the pipes. Leafs need to realize Toskala is garbage and stop making excuses for him.

ok so heres the problem. toskalas beginning was good in toronto but went down when he wasnt performing up to par. now he did have an injury that caused him to start suckin; but the fact was people didnt care and all of torontos pressure was on him. the team had 3 goalie coaches all taking him off his game and makin him lose confidence by piking out his weaknesses. Lost confidence means he doesnt play angles he plays goaline (which is never good). He will play better once the pressure lifts.

Toskala is not a bad goaltender. Having one bad year does not make you a bad player. When he is on his game and not injured he plays amazing. Look at the last 4-5 games of the season after he had his MRI and had some training. And the leafs got 1 new goaltender. As a back up who is better than cujo. All the other goalies they picked up were to help clear out space in tampa, for later deals.

o ya I remember, you made an idiotic comment about how Toskala sucked because he let in that 197 foot goal.. He had his glove in the same position anyone in that situation would have had it but it hopped right over his glove and went in. Go to any video showing that play and everyone there agrees that it's a bad bounce. I may not know anything about Montreal or their amazingly over hyped and brutal centennial season but you know nothing about anything outside of Montreal or hockey in general.

No, you know what's the funniest part, Burke thinking Kaberle is a top 5 NHL defense man. Common, I wouldn't mind having Kaberle on our team, but for the price Burke's asking you'd think we were talking about Lidstrom (if you know who that is)! Karberle struggles in his own zone, Blake can't make one strong pass, and Toskala struggles in his own net every night, except for a few highlight days. I have a feeling the Maple Leafs are going to be in their rebuilding phase for a VERY long time.

1. If you were smart you would realize that you can't compare a DMan's stats to a forward. if you want to play that game, sure: In hockey, points are important, but the +/- is the most important thing...or else, Zdeno Chara would never have gotten the Norris. Lapierre is a +9 while KAberle is a -8. Kaberle's ice time exceeds LApierre's by almost 10 min a game. Lapierre doesn't just score goals but helps in both sides of the ice. Yet, you wouldn't know that since you don't want any of our games.

2. Have you ever watch a Canadiens game other than when it's vs. Toronto? Have you seen some of our goals? Tanguay vs Atlanta ring a bell, or Lang vs. Rangers, or even Koivu vs Sharks (feed from D'agostini) or EVEN A.Kostistyn has some crazy goals. Don't start acting as if you've seen some of our goals, when you know obviously nothing about the franchise.
3. Last time I checked, Kaberle was about 50th in DMen in the whole league. Both Kaberle and Toskala are overhyped if you ask me.
