  • A must for a zombie apocalypse.

  • hey there is my mini-van tnx guys you found it cause i didnt remember where I parked

  • Museum with that ! It is a piece of work.

  • Russian moved atomic generator.

  • @assmouthhead1 Assembled in 50-60's

  • Wasn't this an old Nazi or Russian design from the 40's.

  • This thing would make any terrain it drives over it's bitch.

  • Sweet...

  • Comment removed

  • These were made in 2003?

They look as if they could have been made in 1957. I've always liked how long Russian designs seem to stick around with the same beautifully bulbous Brezhnev era styles.

  • @Threetails its just made from old locomotive and MAZ-7917, so thats why its looks as that even in 2003

  • Chuck Norris's Golf Cart...

  • You have to credit the Russian ability to improvise. Their Soyuz space launch vehicles are powered by what used to be nuclear missiles. Now they come up with this one as an AWD bus.Probably not too good on fuel economy, but could get through obstacles few buses could

  • i want one

  • Train body and Truck/Tank supersion

  • 1 Gallon per FOOT !!!

  • this is what happen when dimitri and vlad drink. they make awesome train for russia to drive on road.

  • Vlad and Dimitri?

Vlad is Vladislav and "Dimitri" is actually Dmitriy.

  • This is soooooo Russian! I love it.

  • Too high for ordinary highways!

  • 0.6 mpg

  • Dear Santa... Dear Santa... DEAR SANTA!!!

  • battlebus

  • Sergej is the nickname that train.

  • thats like a bad ass type motorhome the family would use to camp out on a real battle ground and watch a war first hand! id love to make a motorhome out of that!

  • in Russia, this is what soccer moms drive

  • Russian Mini-van

  • Cute. Looks like a miniature LeTourneau Sno-Train. They built the DEW line for NORAD. 16x16,each tire was 10'(3m)tall. Some were Turbine-powered,butane fueled. The cab was detachable&used multi-implement technology- capable of service as a forklift, snowplow, excavator, etc. The Sno-Freighter was TWENTY-WHEEL-DRIVE(10 foot tires)& transported 45+tons in some of the worst conditions known to man. In 1954. R.G. LeTourneau built the largest earth-moving equipment ever seen. RIP Look it up.
  • in Soviet Russia, trains drive on roads.

  • Jawa's Sandcrawler from Star Wars

  • Crazy Ivans!!!!!!!!!! Why are you so epic???

  • Russian Design in its purest form!

  • Diesel-electric eh? So it's a "hybrid." How many MPG City / hwy?

  • @DrD0000M Usually these would get 14 gallons/hour just idling. Not really a hybrid for gas mileage; each axle had it's own engine. The batteries were only for starting the engines. All the engines are just generators to the electric motors; it's done this way because no clutch is able to withstand the immense amount of torque from those engines. So in the city, you're looking at around 2-3 gallons per minute, and it isn't even fast enough for the highway.

  • You know it's something badass when someone welds a train to nuclear rocket transporter !

  • that thing is beast why not try to fix it and drive it

  • Were they trying to make the worlds biggest hybrid electric vehicles to crush Toyota Prius sales?

  • they're soo big you couldn't use them everywhere because of the bridges , tunels , gas stations ( unless you have mobile tanks ) and wires

  • st- 44

  • sad to see something so interesting being left to rot.

  • These locomotives are old M62s - not terribly powerful at 1472 kW, but not the most stupid idea either probably... even though it's completely weird.

  • this is what they will use when thay have to move into the metro when the upper world goes to shit

  • the murder bus

  • dunno why but im scared because of this video, its a strange monster loco... Euhhh...

  • This is something Russians and Americans have in common, love of overkill size vehicles.

  • ladies and gentlemen, after 3 years of research, 2 years of design and 5 years of building, i present to you, the "really awesome 12-wheeled train-like machine"!

  • Have to agree just need minor touches for true zombie death bringer

  • ENGLISH!!!!! Sweet bus I shall call it love machine. You could put a king size bed in that bitch.

  • in America, we call those "family sedans"

  • Ought oh the school bus has a flat. Need a crane to stop by and change it. How many GPM does this ultra practical but cool looking vehicle use?

  • They are not even taking care of this truck or giving it maintenance check-up!

  • train on wheels..

  • i want one of those

  • i would call it mobile power station

  • in soviet russia train drives on road :D

  • Heh. So that's what a Russian trailer-home looks like..

  • omg!!!! way to take a russian diesel locomotive and turn it into a vehicle !! XD

  • Okay... Why would you mount a diesel locomotive on truckwheels, it makes no sense... BUT IT LOOKS TOTALLY AWESOME

  • @EvilfFridge maybe for travelling from raillway to rayllway change to ironwheels pull a train, put back rubber wheels and .... and doing some of roading too!

  • Could this be an artic explorer? Or at least an ice vehicle? The configuration of the wheels would suggest it...

  • THE PERFECT VEHICLE TO SURVIVE A ZOMBIE HOLOCAUST

  • In Putin-Russia they make 140% wacky things :DDD

  • The first thing I thought on those "road-train"s is to make them become beautiful RVs

  • now i know what i want after zombie Apocalypse.

  • All I know is I want one. Great for car pulling the kids on a snowy day.

  • It looks like a locomotive or ... is it a transformed locomotive?

  • @trainzeiro yes,read the description..

  • @trainzeiro More than meets the eye LMAO ROFL

  • o kurwa...

  • Hvvb

  • Bbb

  • I know lets take train put on top of military truck from 60's great idea

PROGRESS IS MADE OR NOT STILL THE DMA THING BROKE UNDER ALL THAT WEIGHT PROBABLY

    ;))

  • It's obviously a military armoured/ tactical assault bus.

  • Gotta hand it to the Russians, they simply don't believe in 'the box' let alone think inside of it loll Some of their inventions are bizarre, some are crazy, others are outright insane. But some, like these come along and us like minded goofballs just none and say 'yup, I tout of something like that when was a kid. Bout darned time somebody built one!'

  • Simply awesome..

  • @Andrey3573 Somewhere in or near Moscow.

  • Diesel can now destroy Steamies, cars, and kill people!!!

    run for your lives!!!!

    wait, where's Pinchy???

  • Its modular long before it was popular.

  • would love to see it running

  • big one!

  • @dima3102 I'd like that, but I'm not in Russia and they haven't moved in years.

  • ill buy them both now

  • I would turn this into a luxury super 4x4 tough on the outside 5stars on the inside

  • @Mrrobloxify 4x4? You mean 12x12!

  • @SmartassX1 what engine would power 24 wheels lol

  • @hatemf23 12 actually. And a huge diesel one, that powers a big generator, which powers the electrical engines that turn the wheels. Each whell has its own electric engine.

  • paint it yellow and put black lines in the middle, then ship it to america.

  • those are so cool.. love to see them move

  • Old School Land Train, Effin Classic!!!

  • Yes Yes...But will it blend?

  • the military's rv

  • I saw a long Rubber tired machine once that didn't require rails that was called a bus....and the wheels on the Bus went round and round, round and round, round and round.

  • Put slid show in the title!!!

  • It deserves some thinking. Electric drive = full torque is available from 0 RPM. Diesel engine is most efficient at some 'sweet-spot' RPM at nearly 100% load. This is why we see Diesel-electric locomotives. It wasn't a bad idea to try to make a Diesel-electric non-rail ground vehicle. Just a bad idea to try to make one FROM a locomotive. I hope they keep trying (in places where govt is still manageable). Best regards from the U.S.A. (where good ideas are probably illegal).

  • i know what im driving for the zombie apocalypse

  • It looks like a 2Te locomotive on wheels.

  • Doesn't seem like a bright idea to me. I suppose they were meant as mobile electric stations of some sort, but they would have no chance of going off-road. I mean, how much does such a locomotive weigh, like 200 tons? It would sink in the mud instantly!

  • lets build that for RoR..

  • This terrible nonsense could be made only in Soviet Union or USA. Big advatange is low consuption of this offroad. Best car to visit downtown.

  • .001 miles to the gallon

  • @SuperElLeche2 actually diesel electric motive systems are very fuel efficient.

  • @Cycleian

Take a tug boat with a bunch of barges after it, that's a train too.

What we normally call a Train, is actually a railroad train.

A road train, is a train on a road ... like the ones in Australia.

A landtrain is much the same, but also goes crosscountry, such as taking a bulldozer, and adding a bunch of carts behind it.

So not all trains are on roads or even on land

  • @Cycleian Yes, but "Land train" is another name for "road train". Search for both. U.S. used some off-road ones in Alaska in the 1960's and Australia still uses "road trains".

  • I don't know why, but I'd like to have one of these...

  • As has been mentioned, this was indeed a cold war era project, meant to make land trains in areas where littlle to no roads was available.

The Soviet was not the only ones to do this, the US also made a land train project as well, Logistics Cargo Carrier (LCC-1), which ran for a while in the 1950's. The whole ordeal ended with the "TC-497 Overland Train Mark II" which was tested but not put in use, since helicopters had gotten better and replaced it.

  • @Jesus45U I'm pretty sure that you're wrong about this having been a "land train". These were suppose to become mobile electrical power starions for the army.

  • @SmartassX1

Nah, they already had some trucks with a generator on the back .... they didn't really need anything bigger. The only purpose I can see, is to use it as a land train, or some other primary mover type of work.

  • @Jesus45U I know there are things like Zil-131 generator trucks. It's not about what anyone "can see as a purpose". It's about proven facts. The Soviet Union never experimented with land-trains (or at least there's no evidence to support it). I have no reason to believe that my source was lying. And one thing the Soviet Union always had plenty of, are large trucks.

  • @SmartassX1

    True enough.

But considering the power output of the normal trucks with generators, I just cannot see the use for something bigger.

  • @Jesus45U possibly if a factory had the power go out and the secondary power source was disabled, one of these could come in and run the factory. The USSR was drawing up plans for a mobile nuclear reactor, so this would not suprise me.

  • @heliarche I see. I guess that would be a possible scenario.

  • @SmartassX1 Everything I have read said these were really big generators. They really are not that mobile so going were there are little to no roads would be a chore with something this size and weight.

  • @Jesus45U they already had those, they were called MAZ-537G.And if you would think realistically, this train with wheels would sink in mud or soft terrain.the platform, which it is based on,the M62 locomotive, weighs 128 tons.the v12 2 stroke diesel which the locomotive has, consumes 340kg of diesel per hour.so i think it is a rather portable generator than some land train or something.it already has a great deal carring its own frame.

  • Those are actually from the Cold War era. Do A little more homework next time you go spouting the build year.

  • @masonb89 Not knowing their names, it's impossible to research them. I found only 2 sites about them and one was based on the other.

  • A train with tires.... suck on fuel .

  • So Basically its a bus with bigger wheels

  • @edward12erm3 No, top half consists of diesel engine and generator with only two small cabs on each ends. It has around 1500kW (2000HP). Windows on both sides are to provide light to machinery compartment.

Self moving that big generator should have enough power to provide electricity for ~1000-2000 residents village or huge military camp.

Not to mention that it's literally a road-train weighting over 100 tonnes :)

  • @mibars Interesting... Thank you

  • These used to be "Taigatrommel" (Taiga drum) M62 class soviet diesel locos.

  • who say's u can't turn a train into a sweet off road truck...tht was sweet!!!..its ashame it fail due to a mechanical problem..great vid!!

  • @0990505585 I don't know.

  • @0990505585

  • it could be my home...above the world:D

  • where would you drive that

  • Only in Russia!

  • very interesting

  • it looks huge
