  • Sounds like falcon voice.

  • sounded like cougar.

  • I told him to quit smoking...! he just won't listen... right, Darth Vader.... ;)

  • Stop the darth vader jokes, you try to fight the G-forces of flying at a speed of like 1000+ kmph while breathing...

  • @XiposGaming His initial approach speed in the turn on final is around 400 kmph. The breathing I think is simply concentration, a lot of things are going on when landing like that.

  • n c compara a 1 belo SUKHOI

  • It's either a pregnant lady delivering or a very nervous kid flying for the first time. OR in rare case, could be Darth Vader.

  • i get tired just to watch it!

  • This video should have been called "Darth Vader takes a ride with the Thunderbirds". :)

  • It's a fucking girl flying that airplane..

  • F-16C Block 30? I'll tell you guys I cannot stand the new 52s with the conformal fuel tanks.

  • Correction on my earlier comment: this was an evaluation flight by a Lockheed test pilot.

  • I see references here about an emergency landing...THIS CLIP is the final portion of a demo flight performed over the airfield (HAF Block 52 I think). The aircraft did NOT run out of fuel or encounter problems. At bingo fuel, he brought the jet in. He's huffing and puffing at the end, likely still recovering after making several 6-8g pulls (in a little over 6 min. flight). Doing the strain maneuver throughout a short, intense flight has is taxing and has been compared to intense running.

  • i hate the stupid star wars comments on every fighter jet videos it will never be that dumb ass movie fighter jets kick starwars ass

  • who plays a simulator such as falcon 4.0 allied force or lock on, and know all the things about the aircraft, maybe, could land the f-16 in real life! i'd try! seriously

everything i see on the hud or even inside an f16 cockpit is not a surprise for me... it's like i was born in it...

  • @kokumorune Would you try even if you would have to pay for it in case you crash it? Because I'd pay to see that landing :)

  • @kokumorune sure you are able to fly it in a sim, but do you understand all of the principles that make it work like it does? have you ever tried flying a real plane? it takes a lot of training and knowledge to do. and the process of getting up there to the level to fly a real f-16 isn't easy. it takes true skill, devotion, and determination.

  • @PenorBethith flying in a simulator and flying in real life should not even be in the same category. EVERYTHING is different, you are absolutely right.

  • @1Mitera I flew and still fly flight sim a lot and I am training to get my license. I learned about how much different flying and flight sim by flying real aircraft. But, nonetheless, flight sim is a lot of fun and is great to mess around in, as long as it is not taken too seriously.

  • is he compensating for crosswind? and do you need oxygen on those altitudes? just asking, non pilot here.

  • @phc3m he had no engines

  • landing?

  • At about 0:55 you can hear someone say that they are doing a demonstration for Lockheed.

  • darth vader

  • I think this was a bird strike incident. Looks like he just took off and had a flareout. That would explain his stress and turn back to runway which is close.

  • damn this is stressing...

  • if you breath with the mask on, the air rushes through it everytime you breathe... the mic is in the mask too and picks it up...

  • Why is he breathing so hard? can any one tell me?

  • That's my office. The video is a Block 52 practicing an airshow demostrattion for foreign customers. It takes off with 4000lbs of fuel and it burns it all out in 6 minutes. The routine shown in the video is on full afterburner 90% of the time.

I am lucky enough to be able to see this almost every day that they do it, which happens about 15 days out of the year.

  • @krabby4000 Yes, the F-16 has a clamshell thrust reverser. Commercial airliners produce far more thrust, and would indeed be louder from the cockpit. Location matters too, as the pilot (and microphone for this video) are in a rather soundproofed chamber quite far in front of the engines. Afterburners are a different story. The pilot's breathing here is also masking most of the engine noise.

  • @greendaylover12345 The F-16 is NOT capable of reversing thrust. After touch down, the pilot holds aft on the stick to keep the nose above the 10 deg mark. This is aero braking - the blended wing/body of the jet helps slow it down. Watch the last bit of the vid after the touch down and notice the gun cross reference near the top of the HUD (around 12-13 deg). Notice how long the pilot holds this until the nose is allowed to fall at the very end vid.

  • do jet fighters have reverse thrust? the engine noise is so quiet compared to a commercial airliners cockpit.

  • that was a long but flare! stayed on the back gear for like 5 seconds

  • @13knifethrower13 You're talking about aero braking. The flare happened before touch down.

  • ¿es un aterrizaje de emergencia, porque en el hud le dice "FUEL" como si no tubiese combustible.? y aparte parece como que va planeando a muy baja velocidad.

  • lol i sound like that when im snorkeling

  • darth vader

  • i really wanna become this

only the bad thing about it dropping bombs

    i dont like that shit

  • Comment removed

  • @superdrumdavid GBU series are bombs

  • @phoenox23 i meanted M61 Vulcan cannon

  • @turkaskeri0 download Microsoft Flight Simulator Xtreme.. It's one of the most realistic flight simulators, and you can download planes, such as an f16

  • @PinkPain420 LOL dude the x is not for Xtreme... it's the roman letter for 10 because the simulator is from 2010

  • @MegaNerdyDude Ah, yeah ur right, forgot xD

  • Its fucking called COCKPIT not COKPIT

  • hahah! u said cock .. hahahha

  • What is funny with Cockpit? the word cock is funny but I dont see whats so funny in cockpit

  • @Panzersant you would be an immature little faggot! grow up and get off of youtube!!!

  • Oh wow, that's NAS Ft. Worth

  • Luke im your father pfff shhh pufff shhhhh

  • Haha :P

  • a pit full of cocks haha

  • The breathing is actually quite controlled and normal spacing. As puffmac posted, it's like scuba diving, it sounds a lot louder. The max Gs pulled during that flight were 7.9 (the breathing during that would sound like he is giving birth) and the fuel warning reminder is preset by the pilot.

  • Comment removed

  • I believe his breathing is like that because you're listening to him breathing into a face mask. The same thing happens with divers and breathing normally can sound rather dramatic.

  • The landing gears were down from the start (about 0:02).

  • Have to be a fine specimen to fly these birds. Dreaming about math and physics help too. Proud of out men and women serving and pushing the limits!

  • Not really. It aparently was a normal flight. It's common to ATC say "gear down" or "check gear down" when refering to military aircrafts.

About the fuel, i don't think that he was out of fuel (maybe low on fuel but thats normal for performance reasons) because if you hear carefully, about 10 sec. before the touchdown, it's possible to hear the engine accelerating.

  • from his breathing he sounded scared why

  • You would sound this way too if you would have to breath to a tube like an F-16 pilot. But if he was scared it was probebly because he was almost out of fuel ( blinking fuel sign in the hud) ;-)

  • i dont think he was scared. i think he's kinda out of breath probably pulled alot of G's before he landed, like before the video started on his mission.

  • Sounds like he wasnt alone in cockpit xD

  • perhaps may be G .. :)))

  • Near the end his breathing sounded like if he was sleeping :)) cool guy.

  • not just people...a river too

  • feel the force!)

  • hes only pullin like 1.5 gs idk why hes breathin so hard

  • youre hearing the sound through a pipe or tube which exaggerates the sound and amplifies it...try talking through a long tube or pipe to a friend...you'll see what i mean

  • To help keep himself from blacking out from the G forces plus he has a mask on.

  • Give it up for Mr. Darth Vader!

  • Luke, I am your father!

  • haha... uhhh,uhhh,uhhh xD

  • the breath is just like my grandma

  • haha i got a better one 4 ya

  • the breath makes me crazy!! i cant watch this

  • caus difference between F-16 and Boeing for exemple its that F-16 can reduce power so fast

  • arent f16's supposed to land at 150 kts, this landed at 130?

  • fussy... 20 knots difference

    :)

  • 20 kts difference can be between life and death, dnt know what the stall speed is but i bet it isnt far off

  • about 100 knots probably :?

  • with zero fuel and zero stores approach speed should be approx 144, touch down at 132. for every 500 lbs in stores+fuel add 2 lbs.

  • you see i have a problem with that because if you have full fuel with tanks on, + 2 aimL and 2 GBU 1000lb laser guided bombs, speed should be at 180 kts, what do you do? apply breaks before 80kts or drop ordanace?

  • there are a lot of variables which come into play with landings but generally they land at whatever speed is required to maintain about a 2.5 degree glide slope with about 11-13 degree angle of attack. it doesnt matter if thats 100 knots or 200 knots.

according to my understanding most f16 pilots dont normally do any calculations during landing, they dont even watch their air speed, they let the flight control system guide them.

  • the dashed line between 0 degrees and -5 degrees is the appropriate glide slope for landing an f16, the flight path marker should be here before touch down. the bracket is the acceptable angle of attack and where the flight path marker should be before touch down. if the flight path marker, aoa bracket, and glide slope match up on touch down then the viper wont be at too high of a decent rate.

  • Comment removed

  • The landing speed you're thinking of is actually an approach speed. It would be impossible to consistently touch down at the same speed.

  • Approach speed is 250 KTS

  • No, 250 kts is the speed at which you're losing your mind. ;-) So, someone better tell the pilot in this video that he's flubbing up his approach, because he's at 160 to 170? There actually is no approach or landing speed. There's a range. There IS an ideal approach AoA (11-13 degrees, depending on chosen technique) and an ideal landing AoA (13 deg.), numbers that hold regardless of weight + drag. That's the beauty of AoA, and that little bracket that slides just left of the flight path marker.

  • i think its her fuel being low

  • The g-forces generated in that landing are nothing that would cause that kind of breathing. The pilot is stressed.....I don't know what happened that would have made her that way.

  • "i am dark VADER...btw,why is he breathing like that man?

  • DARK vader???? =D

  • dam this guy sound like his ready to die

  • Wow, nice landing! Thanks for sharing.

  • Good landing

  • Some stupid comments here . Look up G-Suit in Google and do some reading . BTW: G.Suit was invented in Canada . The breathing is REAL .......

  • WTF? with the stressfull breathing he sounds like darth vader lol

  • its called being a fighter pilot

  • "Im your FATHER!!"

  • @federalfsx HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • not too good.. I think hes set the QNH wrong (if there is one in fighter jets^^). he is in the negative altitudes^^

  • "If there's one in fighter jets"? You're asking if air pressure affects fighter jets...?

  • my bad. I'm asking if there is a button to change the QNH

  • lol Darth Vader

  • He's feeling a bit of pressure on his chest/ribs as he's cutting that left turn,

I'd take that beast out for a rip and clustor bomb your mom's place.

  • Good job Darth!

  • He doesn't breath hard because of the Gs, he pulls a maximum of 3 Gs (the number above the speed scale, at the left), but because he's out of fuel, too high and too close from the runway, he has to do a series of cow-bow manoeuvers to land his plane. He ligns up his plane at the last moment, descending at a 6 degree angle (double the normal angle of approach)

  • u wouldnt do that over an active circuit man. he was probs practicing for an airshow which could be why he is inverted with his gear down at the beginning.... lmao at 0:56 he actually says "ok were doin a demonstration for lockheed".. just noticed that. ah well yeh i gess it was a display. so yeh he was out of breath cos of the G's.

  • It was the twr cntlr who said "He was doin' a demo for Lockheed". Maybe talking to app cntl on a hot mike but that wasnt either of the two in the aircraft. No doubt it was some sort of demo since the vid of the HUD only starts when hes rolling through 056 inverted @ 2020 & 230kts. Then he mentions his intentions to the tower ("...full stop"), gets clearance for 17 & the backseat confirms that the gear 'appears' to be dwn. Maybe he sucked dwn a bird, comp stall, who knows. Nice dead stick tho.

  • I have spent a litle over an hour in an Airforce F-16 simulator. It's enough to make you breath hard sitting still. This thing is awsome. I can se how the real thing could make you breath hard.

  • ewhy is he breathing so hard?

  • 45 min reserve, once the fuel warning comes on

  • why is he breathing like a stupid fuck?!°

  • its darth vader

  • "G-force"

  • You would the same when your are out of fuel.....

  • WTF??? RELEVANCE ?

  • The F-16 is one of the most successful platforms of all times...

  • geeze wats with the freaking gasping for air all about

  • He is trying to keep his lungs inflated under the crushing forces acting upon his chest...

  • are you talking about how to kill human beings or choosing a restaurant?

  • Navy and Marine pilots must use this airfield as well. You can tell by the carrier flight deck markings on the left side of the runway at 1:05 ... pretty cool :) Thanks for the post.

  • hes airspeed scale shows 190 and 250 there alltitude scale on right shows 1500 and so on..than he gose down to 160 before runway..

  • You dont go down whit high speed. max speed whit landing of f16 is 250 km hour to down to 160 when close to runway...

  • Yes, you´re right.

If you want action you must be in the ground units, and if you want speed and feel things that in any other place you can feel you´ve to be in an air force.

    Where´re you being trained ¿?

  • A F-16 pilot.

1 pilot and the plane can kill more people than a captain with 30 soldiers on foot

    Bombs

  • Listening to his breathing is very interesting. Great video. 5/5.

  • yo pilot are you nervous before you gonna fly with f16?

how does it feel when you vertically go down with high speed

  • Jealous!

  • I'm flying (nowadays) a Dassault Mirage 2000, but I know others fight planes. And you? What type of plane and Airline?

  • I´m a begginer

    I´m 18 years old and I´m fliying a Piper PA-11 , it´s not like the M2000 hahah

I only´ve 85 hours of flight. I´ve some videos flying with the PA-11.

In wich Air Force do you flight ?

  • Nice! I'll see your video with the PA-11, a machine very different than any fight plane. With 85h, you can make a dogfight ha ha! Over your question I'm brazilian.

  • Jaja,

Yes, if you´ve to make a navigation flight you can come here and we practice a dog fight jaja

I think it can be a bit difficult.

We can make a deal, I take you on the PA-11 and you to me on the M2000 jajaja

I would liked to be a fighter pilot, but it´s a bit difficult to me, so I decided to be civil pilot.

I hope i can buy a 2º World War plane when y be older, a T-28 or a FW-190, It can be a Spitfire too

  • Great! The 2º World War planes are the best! You must buy a ME 262 (the world's first jet fight plane... I guess). Maybe a BF 109... Good luck in your business, ok? Hugs!

  • I prefere piston planes, not jet planes.

In my opinion are the best.

A plane that has no scream, only mechanic.

  • haha

  • te pilot sounds like a girl flying

  • I´m sure that you´d like to be there

  • You're right! Good video! This is my real job... I'm not simulator pilot. Hugs!

  • Are you a fighter pilot ?

  • Yes , I'm. Are you a pilot or an aviation employee too?

  • I´m civil pilot and mechanic from Argentina.

What planes do you flight ?¿

  • its the high g's they take and being trained to break like that...he has plent of fuel if you look at the hud

  • The guy sounded like he was dieing lol

  • what's wrong Vader? don't underestimate the powers of the daak side

  • impresionante

  • it must been his first time that he runs out fuel.

  • this guy just concentrate on hes landing as you can see aispeed scale att left says under 250.. that is impornant and the alltitude scale att right.... and hes in need of fuel...

  • sure, you´ve to be healty

    good luck

  • Student pilot, under instruction.

  • i bet the pilot is smoker

  • haha smoker ¿?

i don´t think so, perhaps he´s more health than us haha

  • lol this most be dark vadar airforce days haha.

  • hold your breath a bit

  • DARK VADOR lol!! ;-) thanks for the vidéo

  • The loud sound of the breathing is due to the fact that the microphone in the oxygen mask is located directly in front of the exhalation valve.

  • yes, the mocrophoine has to be close to the mouth

  • what weird breathing

  • It was Darth Vader testing out F-16's for the Galactic Empire lol.

  • the pilot sounds like darth vader

  • They have to breathe heavily to pull off e.g. high-G maneuvers.

  • that was even hard g dude.. he was going around 180 or lower.. like the speed of a motorbike or car.

  • You mean "wasn't" right? Yeah I know, but I was just giving an example why they breathe like that.

  • Your car goes 180 knots?

  • I wish my car goes 180 knots haha

  • looks like at :11 you broke the 250/10K rule, or does that not apply to fighter pilots?

  • I don´t understand your question, I don´t know what´s that 250/10K rule.

  • The 250/10K rule means do not exceed 250 knots under 10,000 feet. It applies to all aircraft in the united states as far as i know unless they have permission, or they're conducting missions

  • I supose that it´s for civil aircrafts, generally the military aviation have no rules. Thanks for the information.

  • He is in the box doing a demonstration at an air-show. As long as he does not break the sound barrier, overfly the crowd, exit the box, or direct his flight path towards the crowd he is good to go.

  • I do not believe that applies to military aircraft. I live not to far from Selfridge ANGB and we have F-16's fly over periodically and they are definitely flying over 200 KIAS at well below 10,000 feet usually because they are on approach since I am only about 25nm or less away from the base.

  • Perhaps the law between USA and Argentina (country where i live) is different.

Here in Argentina the Military aviation has more advantages than the civil aviation

  • I dont think that appilies to military aircraft; the f-16 rotates at 150 knots so it get well above 200 knots before 10,000 feet on a full reheat take-off
