What needs to be emphasized is not just the ridiculous fortunes of the super rich but the quality of life for the bottom 33 percent....these peoples quality of life must not be allowed to drop below a certain level..we need to acknowledge the adversity that comes from being economically disadvantaged or living a life of nothing but hard work without having time or options to keep other important aspects of life balanced..
I'm not associated with the "visualizing economics" blog, though I got a lot of inspiration from it when making this animation. Also, she was nice enough to post a link to this video.
what you fail to mention is, these people in the top 1% already pay a higher percentage of tax, and they are the guys that MAKE jobs also. If we are going to tax the guys that use money to create jobs, the free market economy will fail, and we will become socialist like France. I suppose we will see that happen now that Obama has won. You'll be sorry. All the great everyday aspects of life will disappear because no one will strive to innovate since Obama will take their hard earned money anyway.
Yep, I ran out of time for taxes. The links have lots of graphs covering that kind of thing.
What we're talking about is progressive taxation. Teddy Roosevelt, John McCain's hero, was a fan. Search for:
"The really big fortune, the swollen fortune, by the mere fact of its size, acquires qualities which differentiate it in kind as well as in degree from what is possessed by men of relatively small means."
Obama's proposed taxes on the very rich are to be the same as Reagan's. We'll see!
(hmm, my last comment disappeared on me, one more try...)
Thanks! If you like, pass it on to someone who might find it useful before the election tomorrow.
I made the video in 3ds Max, with some textures from Photoshop.
I believe the sky texture came from Philo's Sky Collection. Do a search and you'll find it (tried posting a link, but that might be keeping me from being able to post.)

Oh and btw for that other guy who said taxing the rich was bad for the economy:
Hey buddy... cars don't buy cars, homes don't buy homes, and the economy doesn't buy itself.
The better the spending power from below, the better the top does. It's simple logic.
Or did that commenter think that cars magically sold to faeries?
