To quote CS Lewis: "To look for a demon behind every bush is a dangerous fallacy. To deem Satan a mere myth is equally dangerous." Demons are real and they do affect us and the world around us. But they are not behind everything. We have enough problems with our own sin that Satan often just needs to sit back and watch. Preach the word. If a demon is there, drive out, but don't assume it is there. The battle we fight is much more than against demons.

When Jesus cast out the Legion of demons from the Garasene Demoniac, they said "What have we to do with you Jesus, Son of God? Have you come to torment us before the time?"

BEFORE THE TIME. There is a time; God will deal with every principality in His own due time.

Now... if demons are tormenting us or someone we know, thats different. Such were the reasons why Christ cast out demons in the first place, if I'm not mistaken.

God does give spiritual authority to those He uses in such a manner. Jesus speaks of spiritual warfare: Matt 12:29/Mk 3:27/Lu 11:21-22. That's not to say we go about beating the air. There are principalities, powers, etc that rule over this world & they have to be cast down but only after all things in a christian have been cast down first that exhalts itself against truth.

Very interesting video. I think the problem that some people have with praying against principalities is that they are going outside their area of given authority. Only if the Lord directs us specifically to pray against an area or principality and such should we... otherwise we DO open ourselves up against reprisals in many forms. We need to be careful to no go beyond what the Lord asks us specifically to do.
