  • he's scared of water

  • i wish i knew what they mean by water sprite? seriously, exactly how is that an insult.

  • look at gojyo's hair. see the two pieces(antennae) sticking up? in the jap. version, they call him a kappa(aka water sprite)

in the other series they called him a cockroach.

  • i think i somewhere read that there's a water sprite in a japanese legend that is called sha gojyo and that's why they keep calling him that...but i'm not quiet sure if this is true ^^ however in the german version they call him a lecher...but what ever they call him he'll always be gojyo <3that's enough for me xD

  • @Kaitoconankid

Water sprite is their English translation for "kappa." In Japanese folklore, kappa are green, generally human-shaped creatures (sharing some turtle characteristics) with a bowl-like indentation in the top of their heads, which must remain filled with water for the creature to live. Kappa are thought to be lecherous and not very bright.

  • @pinetreevillage so why is gojyo called a water sprite? i don't see the joke there except for maybe because he drinks too much..

  • @pinetreevillage

Hmm, the green doesn't fit, but the lecherous part does. The hair=antenna is a possibility, although classical kappa don't have antenna as far as I recall. But they definitely call him kappa, since Goku jokes about him "drying out" without water in his head . . . Best I can do, sorry!
