  • I am disappointed at the criticisms made about filming and Ken's acting.Ken was amazing! This is one of the most heartfelt episodes I have watched, from one of the best TV Shows ever made!Matt,Chester,Doc,Kitty,Sam and Festus were all honest, seemingly real characters!Their interactions made them friends we would all have loved to no! I am surprised no one has noticed that Gunsmoke in The Ex-Urbanites with Chester is pretty much this ep.Watch it,Festus plays a bad guy eventually tied up by Chester

  • Hey,Kaewonf8, what do you think you are, a film critic ?, this has to be one of the best episodes I've ever seen ! You need to get a life !!!!!

  • Great Episode....... I thoroughly enjoyed this one, Thanks for posting it "GunsmokeChannel".

  • @robinhoodtn1 What book are you referring to please?

  • @utubesuperstation so what its tv

  • Best episode I ever seen! Love th friendship between Doc and Festus!

  • this is one of the BEST !! I just love Festus and old Doc's relationship LOL to funny i would have a Blast hanging out with Festus

  • Victor French was the best

  • This has gotta be my favorite episode. :)

  • The wishbone conceit is rather flimsy and the idea that Festus could find Doc so quickly utterly ludicrous. Still, Ken Curtis has rare chance to stretch his limited range, which is a treat. Milburn Stone is always fantastic. My quibble is with the snake: even in the mid-60s they could've simulated the actual strike: what we got was very lame.

Still in all a very enjoyable episode.

  • notice the fake background

  • I love Festus and the Doc's relationship... they both bother eachother, but when it comes down to it, they are there for each other :)

  • ooh yea two thumbs on tis one

you got Liw Wagner who later on

Caught a Script on The Carol Burnett Show.

  • ooh yea two thumbs on tis one

  • Poor Doc! But thank goodness for ol' Festus! He sure is a life saver! Pun intended! ;) RED. ;)

  • Also, this episode marked the first of about 17 Gunsmoke episodes that Victor French appeared in. Indeed before "Little House" Gunsmoke had built French's career.

  • @vinylsingleman

which one is he here? I know him from the Angel series but he wore a beard then.

  • @TheSunmanho He's the outlaw Travers, the last one Matt deals with at the end. The other guy with him, Aikens, is Lyle Waggoner, best known from The Carol Burnett Show. The wounded outlaw who takes refuge at a farmhouse is Lew Gallo, who later went into directing.

  • who would have guessed what a softy festus was

  • Thank you for posting this. I only saw the very end of this episode back in February of 1966.
