THIS WORKS - Well i tried the thing that this video and it never worked with me, but what worked with me is go to ctrl alt delete then go to wpmedia player or windows media player in your task manager and delete the windows media player task and you should be able to use fl studio. CAN EVERYONE TELL ME IF THIS WORKED FOR YOU. Thanks :)
Seems like a good video but i've tried all but the last method (using laptop) and still no luck. The sound driver I have is a Realtek High Definition Audio. it's a little crackly on fl studio unless the buffering is really high. SOMEONE HELP ME :(
i have a sound, but everytime a play on any distortion amps i get this distorted awfull noise, when i play something it's gone but when i don't here it goes again

Hello m8. i just got my KORG microkontrol back from a de bug process, and now i'm not feeling like giving up.I allways get the yellow female error sign in asio4all, that says 'beond logic' REASON is set to asio, i get acivity when using the keabord, but no audio out. I have disabled the windows sounds in control panel, turned all REALTEK systems off, and the female error markers are still here. dont know how to move forward m8. I allso in asio4all meny turn the outputs/inputs i dont use off.
@ShikiOujiChan It's actually very simple to make an application to do that. Open notepad and copy and paste the following couple lines into notepad:
net stop "Windows Audio"
net start "Windows Audio"
Save the file as "audio.bat". Your done! This file will restart the Windows Audio service.
The first line will stop the audio service. The second line will start the audio service. If you put each line in a separate file, you can have one file start the audio and the other file to stop it.

.turned of my laptop n bak on ,open cubase n editor again...works again ,no problem...thks again...
Suggestion that I used, instead of getting a second sound card I just used a virtual soundcard to load the midi on. E2eSoft VSC is what I set to the default sound and then the ASIO worked fine for my other one.

If I lowered the buffer a bit, up to 2000 f.e., then I get the best sound, but still it's terrible.. I keep hearing the wrong notes and so on..
Also there is this: when I play the track I have, and my midi is connected, then it pauzes automatically after a time, after some milisec. or after 1 sec, it just pauzes, it does't stops, cauz the track's on that particular point.

@okieekowardoyo You need to make sure only one audio device is selected in the ASIO control panel. Make sure the device you want to use is selected, and make sure that EVERY other device is not selected. If two output devices have been selected, ASIO may not work.
@zorksox I'm sorry if you've already mentioned this but I've been trying to get windows media player or firefox to play a sound to the same audio output that I have my asio configured to use, Is it possible? When I run firefox, sounds from my daw are disabled. Any workaround for this? I suppose its one of those..device is in use by software things? Cheers

@100roberthenry ASIO doesn't support 88kHz. It works best at 44kHz or 48kHz. I think Cubase would be the problem. I'm not familiar with Cubase, but forcing you to use 88kHz is ridiculous. No one would ever need sound fidelity that high. Most sound cards don't even support that kHz rate. I suspect if you can get Cubase working at 44kHz, ASIO will work fine. Unfortunately I can't help you, as I've never used Cubase.
Hi , I am Using an Acer Aspire 7520 laptop . I am Using Sony Acid Pro 6 . it does not give me audio driver options to enable the asio4all driver. I have the Driver downloaded but cannot open it or find a way to enable it . I plug My guitar into a pre amp and record out of that into my microphone jack and get about a half second delay on whatever i play into the computer.
hey im trying to record electric guitar on reaper through asio. My sound card is a creative sound blaster x-fi titanium, which has its own asio drivers. They didnt work, so i downloaded asio4all and that still doesnt work for me, only direct sound and wave out etc work...any advice??? i get no signal through any asio configuration while trying to record :(
None of these work for me. In the Asio panel, nothing is Xed out (some have "beyond logic"). When I switch to Asio, the meters show sound but nothing is audible. Anyone have any ideas?
For those who play guitar through Amplitube 3 i can say that first fixing helped me (thanks zorksox!!). But you have to know that all other sounds are disabled (youtube or any player like winamp, vlc...) while Amplitube3 is on! But dont worry, you can load your backingtracks in AT3 and it works. Just watch out for managing asio in its panel correctly...thanks again!!
Ok this is my situation. Ive downloaded asio4all on my laptop but it wont let me find my mic and btw i record with adobe audition. So i can hit record and hear myself but it will be a slight delay on my voice. So my question is how do i either fix the delay in adobe without using asio4all or how can i get asio4all to work, i hope that was understandable.

When my ASIO4All stopped working all I did was turn Windows Audio off and back on again and the conflict with Wave Synth stopped. I didn't have to keep turning it off and on, I only had to do it the one time and that was it.

3.Disable your sound card Device in as shown here:

and then in the options of each device (or perhaps just the speakers, i did all anyway) go to advanced config and unmark "Allow applications to take exclusive control" and go back to step one.
@JSonyMusik That's a though one. You only have one sound card, so this method won't work. You will need a USB headset. The USB headset will act like a second sound card. Make the headset the default playback device. Set ASIO to use you normal sound card. A laptop won't produce the greatest quality sound, but it should work.

@JSonyMusik Is it a USB microphone? If it is, then you can set your built-in soundcard to be the default. This will let ASIO use your headset. Make sure your headset is selected in the ASIO4ALL control panel. Press the record button. When prompted, choose one of the top two Audio buttons. Your microphone should be able to record now. This will ONLY work if you have a USB headset.
ASIO4ALL is so fucking confusing. I installed it, it fucking sucked, I could only have sound in one program at a time and I couldn't get sound in my headset. I uninstalled it. I was very relieved. Everything worked. I never needed it at all. They lied to me. Then I started using Cubase. Now I can't get Cubase sound in my headset because of "ASIO4ALL". WTF? I STILL HAVE IT? WHAT IS THIS?
@MagnusRulerHardt If you never got an error message, how do you know ASIO4ALL is the problem. You said it "f---ing sucked". I don't even know if your using it right. No information yields no results. Give me a video or some screenshots. Anything! I have never used Cubase, so it's difficult to help.
I can know because this happened when I switched "source" of audio since ASIO4ALL needed me to because it wouldn't let me have sound from multiple programs. I also had to restart often to make this change in the control panel work. I uninstalled it and everything worked perfectly and I got sound in my headset again.
i have a question, if i do that switching process and i want to conect a midi controller will it sound with asio4all? I mean, you said it would kill the midi... it got me a little confused and I want to know if even turning off the windows audio the controller would work...
Stopping the Windows Audio service doesn't disable asio4all. But it does disable any external midi device like a keyboard. Without a keyboard, asio4all is useless. You can still enter notes manually, though. So IF you have a midi keyboard you want to use, deactivating Windows Audio is not the right solution.
@zorksox Yes, thanks for all, it all worked fine for me. I found out a solution for that. I was trying to use asio4all, but it didn't sound at all, the next day i turned on the computer and it worked well, the problem is that you need to reset your pc to get it right. greetings.
Glad to help. I've also noticed that you can use a USB headset instead of a second sound card. USB headsets do their own sound processing and bypass the sound card all together because Windows treats them like a completely separate device.

YOU DONT NEED any extra sound cards e.t.c if u have a REALTEK SOUNDCARD.
you dont need ASIO4ALL too.
you can see everything working with nly 30ms, not bad at all.. and sound is better.

oh man, i have a usb sound card, emu0202 emu.com say they have no win7 driver,
i use cubase and it wont let me set it to 44khz...only 88khz..weird. would asio4all help me out here!?i havehad to go back to xp justto getsound..

@100roberthenry ASIO doesn't support 88kHz. It works best at 44kHz or 48kHz. I think Cubase would be the problem. I'm not familiar with Cubase, but forcing you to use 88kHz is ridiculous. No one would ever need sound fidelity that high. Most sound cards don't even support that kHz rate. I suspect if you can get Cubase working at 44kHz, ASIO will work fine. Unfortunately I can't help you, as I've never used Cubase.

Hi , I am Using an Acer Aspire 7520 laptop . I am Using Sony Acid Pro 6 . it does not give me audio driver options to enable the asio4all driver. I have the Driver downloaded but cannot open it or find a way to enable it . I plug My guitar into a pre amp and record out of that into my microphone jack and get about a half second delay on whatever i play into the computer.

hey im trying to record electric guitar on reaper through asio. My sound card is a creative sound blaster x-fi titanium, which has its own asio drivers. They didnt work, so i downloaded asio4all and that still doesnt work for me, only direct sound and wave out etc work...any advice??? i get no signal through any asio configuration while trying to record :(

I use assio with traktor dj, after stoping windows audio it works, but i cant use headphones with it (monitor)

None of these work for me. In the Asio panel, nothing is Xed out (some have "beyond logic"). When I switch to Asio, the meters show sound but nothing is audible. Anyone have any ideas?

For those who play guitar through Amplitube 3 i can say that first fixing helped me (thanks zorksox!!). But you have to know that all other sounds are disabled (youtube or any player like winamp, vlc...) while Amplitube3 is on! But dont worry, you can load your backingtracks in AT3 and it works. Just watch out for managing asio in its panel correctly...thanks again!!

Ok this is my situation. Ive downloaded asio4all on my laptop but it wont let me find my mic and btw i record with adobe audition. So i can hit record and hear myself but it will be a slight delay on my voice. So my question is how do i either fix the delay in adobe without using asio4all or how can i get asio4all to work, i hope that was understandable.

When my ASIO4All stopped working all I did was turn Windows Audio off and back on again and the conflict with Wave Synth stopped. I didn't have to keep turning it off and on, I only had to do it the one time and that was it.

1. Open your Asio host.
2. Enter asio configuration.
3.Disable your sound card Device in as shown here:

4. If necessary close the host and enter in your new asio config
5. If still not working, go to your control pannel and enter Playback devices options.
and then in the options of each device (or perhaps just the speakers, i did all anyway) go to advanced config and unmark "Allow applications to take exclusive control" and go back to step one.

@JSonyMusik That's a though one. You only have one sound card, so this method won't work. You will need a USB headset. The USB headset will act like a second sound card. Make the headset the default playback device. Set ASIO to use you normal sound card. A laptop won't produce the greatest quality sound, but it should work.

@JSonyMusik Is it a USB microphone? If it is, then you can set your built-in soundcard to be the default. This will let ASIO use your headset. Make sure your headset is selected in the ASIO4ALL control panel. Press the record button. When prompted, choose one of the top two Audio buttons. Your microphone should be able to record now. This will ONLY work if you have a USB headset.

ASIO4ALL is so fucking confusing. I installed it, it fucking sucked, I could only have sound in one program at a time and I couldn't get sound in my headset. I uninstalled it. I was very relieved. Everything worked. I never needed it at all. They lied to me. Then I started using Cubase. Now I can't get Cubase sound in my headset because of "ASIO4ALL". WTF? I STILL HAVE IT? WHAT IS THIS?

@MagnusRulerHardt If you never got an error message, how do you know ASIO4ALL is the problem. You said it "f---ing sucked". I don't even know if your using it right. No information yields no results. Give me a video or some screenshots. Anything! I have never used Cubase, so it's difficult to help.

I can know because this happened when I switched "source" of audio since ASIO4ALL needed me to because it wouldn't let me have sound from multiple programs. I also had to restart often to make this change in the control panel work. I uninstalled it and everything worked perfectly and I got sound in my headset again.

i have a question, if i do that switching process and i want to conect a midi controller will it sound with asio4all? I mean, you said it would kill the midi... it got me a little confused and I want to know if even turning off the windows audio the controller would work...

Stopping the Windows Audio service doesn't disable asio4all. But it does disable any external midi device like a keyboard. Without a keyboard, asio4all is useless. You can still enter notes manually, though. So IF you have a midi keyboard you want to use, deactivating Windows Audio is not the right solution.

@zorksox Yes, thanks for all, it all worked fine for me. I found out a solution for that. I was trying to use asio4all, but it didn't sound at all, the next day i turned on the computer and it worked well, the problem is that you need to reset your pc to get it right. greetings.

Glad to help. I've also noticed that you can use a USB headset instead of a second sound card. USB headsets do their own sound processing and bypass the sound card all together because Windows treats them like a completely separate device.
