  • Texas blues will live on forever

  • great presentation.. congrats keep it up ..

  • Nice.

  • This HAS to be the inspiration for (5th Ward TX's own) Willie D's Baldhead Hoes....I know it!!!!!

  • I've been learning some Lightnin licks lately and there's some sweet ones in this.

Thanks for putting it up, love his style.

  • It's very good story ,your comment in the early 60s.

  • is that peter green in the front row at 1.51

  • @ironbar2007 Good catch. Dead ringer if it's not.

  • ~~ i first heard this by buddy guy and junior wells, ~~ so cool to hear it by it's originator, ~ full circle.

  • Hey Snaps---Thank you for posting this tune.

I like what you wrote about Lightnin'---he can really reach out and git ya. His influence has been felt by many. (Johnny Winter, the Vaughan Bros., ...too many to list!)

Back about 1966 I found an early album by him ("The Roots of Lightnin' Hopkins)---it's the real thing---real music to my ears.

  • Man lightnin was one super cool cat. his playing and sound puts him, for me anyway, up there with the all time great origional blues men.

  • po' lightnin
