@TasteForDisaster lol stoner hair!!! I studied for a lonnnnng arse time everyday. I read up recently on something called the 10,000 hour / 10 year rule. That it would take you about 10,000 hours or 10 years roughly to master something. I'm at about 6 years of studying (on and off so really like 3-4 full years) and probably at like 4,000ish hours of study lol. Insane, I know. You gotta love what you do! :)
@cruxay I think I can get a few hours in every week. I can already speak 2.6 languages! I love Japanese culture so much, I think I'll be able to learn the language eventually though, I have a lot of patience, I've spent 7 years playing guitar and I still play everyday! I never get bored:)
I made it to Japan myself, I'm studying abroad for the year in Kyushu. But I'm really worried that my Japanese isn't getting the attention it needs. I've been here for a month and it just doesn't seem to have gotten any better. Just a lot of "blah blah blah word I recognize blah blah blah word I recognize", while I use vocabulary that's kind of close to what it is I want to say but not, and using dumb grammar.
@ershnuff study smarter, study harder. If it's not getting the attention it needs then the only person that can give it that attention is you. The world around you now is your case study. Take what you've learned and apply it immediately after class. Also, it is natural that we never feel we are improving because everything is relative. You should push yourself by aiming to take the next JLPT in December. Stay hungry and keep learning dude... before you know it u'll be speaking fluently.
@cruxay Sigh... you're right. I need to get back on track. Being in a dormitory with other foreigners has not been good for my studies. I'm going to have to start putting my foot down. Thanks for telling me what I needed to hear instead of what I wanted to hear.

@cruxay Indeed. I think most of the info is still up in there just gonna take a little boot to get it flowing again. Although I can still read at around the same level I was when I took a break my forming sentences skills have suffered a bit. But that's life. It all works out in the end; Good to see stuffs goin' well for you

I can tell you about myself
1- I live in Japan now, its been a bit over 4 months now
2- I'm in a Japanese language school as a full time student
3- I plan on going to a Japanese university after my 2 year program is over
4- I live in Osaka with a Japanese Host family
5- I can speak Japanese more then most foreigners lol JPLT 3-4 around plan on taking 3 this winter
6- I do work as a English teacher in the same school so i know the in's and out's of visa's and working permits
