Ok, bars are rubber. Paul puts them back in the case to switch them, the targets have a circular cut out held in place by magnets, the target design conceals it. When Paul hits the targets to prove there 'solid' the assistant is using his arm to keep the plug in place. While the barrels are spinning debbie is moving from the black barrel to the white, keeping her arm in the black barrel. Paul gives her the waving thing which she waves from the black barrel, she takes her arm into the other one.

I think sbasey got it (see below) Why test the rods only to put them back into the case....to be switched of course! (Note how carefully PD has to feed them through the holes...they must be soft...)

im thinking twins cuz they never open the black one or the bars cuz why would he take them out of the box then put them in the box then out ?..... i think the guy holding them swiched them cuz all he did was stand there he didnt realy need to be there unless he was part of it hmmm what do u think
