@aniki91344 I hate to say it but... the way one does a weave with opposite spinning poi is... with practice. It might feel clunky and there may be some tangles at first, but it works.
@commandoe1 I don't beleive so. From what I understand "atomic" moves are just those in which the poi are at 90 degree angles to eachother instead of parallel. You can also do an atomic weave where one poi is vertical and one is horizontal.
I always call an opposite direction weave a "Split Time TTN weave", but there are so many names for different moves, the name isn't that important.
You really do make the best tutorials. Multiple camera angles, slow motion, after affects, excellent editing, and a thorough explanation from someone who is experienced and articulate. Thanks so much for all the great posts.
I can't get this version of atomic... I can do the other atomic version with one poi on a horizontal plain and the other vertical...... but not this right angle business..... I'll keep at it i guess.
So has anybody figured out how to do a 5 beat atomic weave in the same way that this 3 beat atomic weave is done? Not like the 5 beat atomic where one goes horizontal and one vertical.
i got it, ferst try 4beat ttn ingoing and outgoing, then turning, then buterfly tangles, and once you got the tangle in ingoing and outgoing, you will get this easylier than you think
There is more then one version of this technique there is also a horizontal and vertical combination. Atomic moves just implies different planes of spinning. Nick Cann has the other type shown in a video.
All I can say is riiiiiight. I have to say that I've knocked myself in the noggin/hips/butt/thighs so much trying new stuff that I had to crochet myself some poi head covers. It really helps lessen the (sometimes concussion causing) blows while you're still in that beginning/intermediate crossover stage. Thanks for the videos...I'll keep on trying! You keep on rocking!
XD i didn't know the moves i figured out even had names!
i just looked up poi and found this. now i just show it to my friends who im teaching, they understand this better.

does a 3-beat weave with one hand spinning forward and another spinning backward make an atomic weave ?

are there different atomic weaves?

If I did get it, this move is pretty easy. Compared to other atomic weaves at least.

Yes. I want to learn the other one, it's much harder. I'm going to go try all day.

Does this only work with sock poi? It looks like the poi "bounce" off eachother so it would wrap up with simple stringed poi?? Wouldn't it??

This is pretty concise nick. But once you go atomic, all of your planes start getting all bendy XD
I've been delving into atomics for a while now. Its and it continues to get weirder and weirder.

I can't see the beauty in this trick.I'm sorry but I think it's stupid
p0spa 3 years ago
the beauty behind atomics is that allows for even more movement, and in my mind quicker transitions without stalls.
