  • I just got a blood test and the doctor says my thyroid gland levels are high, Dose this mean i have hyperthyroidism?

  • Western medicine = cut it out, blast it with radiation, or blast it with drugs. And we think we're advanced and modern. Here's an idea, try something that doesn't harm you first! There are healing traditions that have been around a lot longer that ours that don't require, or even considering destroying parts of your body. Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine are a couple. Only the ignorant dismiss these. We've got much to learn in the west.

  • i had no idea it can be cured i mean i have it and its not a big deal but i dont really want to take pills every day

  • Something not often talked about are the atypical (unusual) symptoms of hyperthroidism - sensitivity to cold, weight gain...I had these symptoms and more along with normal range blood tests which threw drs off for years - no diagnosis to misdiagnosis until I finally presented thyrotoxic with damage to my heart from my heart racing so fast all the time. If something feels wrong with you you are not crazy - they just haven't figured out what box to put you in - advocate, educate, demand help.

  • Weight gain? I didn't know that, because my sister lost a ton of weight and I didn't know it could do the opposite, as well. Thank you for sharing.

  • @CoreyForeside You loose ton of weight when you have hypothyroidism not hyperthyroidism. I have hyperthyroidism I am a tooth pick

  • @Novagreyhound My doctor said that I'm slightly hyperthyroidism, but she said that I'm perfectly fine and that that is not the reason for my chronic fatigue or hypertension. My symptoms are fatigue, accelerated heart rate(all my life), anxiety(all my life), low libido, hypertension, and intolerance to the cold(all my life). I don't think that I have an intolerance to heat, as I LOVE to take long HOT showers.

I feel like I'm more hyper than hypo.

  • @Novagreyhound Are you sure that hyperthyroidism can be associated with unusual symptoms such as sensitivity to cold?

  • My sister has this. She's 29 with 2 kids. It makes her throat swell up. :^/

  • Always take the pill route.

Grave's disease is mostly stress related.

Manage your stress and get rid of all the things that put pressure on you and the disease will eventually go away, of course you need to take the pills to block hormone production.

  • This is a good explaination of hyperthyroidism that is caused by Graves Disease (a goiter), but, I'd love to learn more about when a nodule(s) which grows ON the thyroid, produces ITS OWN hormones, creating too much hormones (causing the SAME symptoms as hyperthyroidism)!!!

  • will eating less salt food help? i am starting to stay away from seafood :(

  • He says they think it is the first choice, but he also says that antithyroid drugs are done first with the intention of causing remission in the child. Then RAI if in fact that is not possiable. Which is usually any doctors response to the same problem. I understand your thoughts on the RAI as I too had this done, and feel alot like you, but also understand that these doctors are guided to certain areas in medical perfessions. They have to abide by laws and what is indicative of there practices

  • Any MD who recommends RAI as first choice of treatment (a) doesn't have a clue how awful most people feel after having RAI, (b) doesn't put any attention to fact that RAI often causes or increases eye problems of Thyroid Eye Disease. RAI is "not" a giid choice. Anti-thyroid drugs are easy to monitor, by TSH, FT4 & FT3 tests every 3 months. Anti-thyroid drugs don't destroy a perfectly good thyroid. Hyperthyroidism is not a thyroid disease, it is an autoimmune disease.

  • is there such a thing asthe thyroid going too high and too low highly fluctuating daily even causei have most of the syptoms of both

  • Just because you have symptoms of both, doesn't mean you have both, you could have one or the other, as symptoms sometime go along with each

  • i didnt know that thanks

  • sryy confusion i have hypothyroidism not hyperthyriodism

  • i am 17 and i think i might have this i weigh about 320lbs your proabalby saying get up and lose weight but i have tried i put myself on a diet and walked on a treadmill for 2 to 4 hours a day eating salads a protien cutting out sugars a limiting carbs. i just cant seem to lose the wieght i am hoping to get tested and get some type of treatement cuz i have tried everything.

  • then you might have the opposite hypothriodism but your thyroid is slow

  • from this video i got the sense that this is only found in kids??I am 25 yr old male. I have all the symptoms except the swollen neck. Could someone shed some light on this? And is there any truth that this condition makes you infertile?

  • not only found in kids, a tumor can be formed during the adulthood producing hyperthyroidism

  • im 28, female and i have a hyperactive thyroid goiter. i also have 3 kids 6 and under so, this is not good for me, any suggestions i was on the pills, and it did not change my thyroid.

    now what.??????? any suggestions.????

  • I also suffer from this bloody thing.. and i was just wondering if anyone know's if it can make you infertile??this is really driving my nuts lol help???

  • yes it does

  • yes it causes problems getting pregnant

  • i have all the symptoms but no goiter

  • you can have all the symptoms and no goiter, I did

  • OMG DUDE I HAVE A OVER ACTIVE THRYROID is that hyper thyroid it raised my blood pressure and heart beat i am 15 the doctor put me on some medicine i need to take 1320 tablets 4 times a day for my heart 6 table at the same time a day for thyroid gland

  • My 8 year old is hyperthyroid, but does not have a goiter. He has t3 toxicosis.

Actually I ( his mom) had the same condition, due to a solitary hot nodule.

I know it's rare, but I am scared by doctors who think a low tsh and normal ft4 does not mean subclinical hyperthyroid, while ft3 may be the key to the diagnose.

I know this t3 toxicosis is rare, but therefore it still does exsist.

  • I dont mean attack you sorry LOL its just been a nightmare Its taken almost 7 years for me to get dianosed .........so im abit pissy and I still have rage issues

  • thats cool no ofense taken..sorry when i ment carbs i ment carbinmozole thats the pills they put me on here in the uk,Rage issues yeh know all bout that i ended up in court on a grevious bodily harm road reage atack.i got a 2 month suspended sentance and a 1200pound fine!!`Only my consultant from the hospital kept me on the outside.Wot i have learnt is we think we are in control of our bodies but were kind of not, do u know wot im trying to say?

  • lol I know all to well I try sooo hard to hold back I get soo annoyed by little things or sounds I basically have to go hide in my room.

  • i think calling me a stupid asshole is unjust, seeing youve never met me! anyway im not gunna get into a name caling competition. I was serious i liked being hyper,i was for 4yrs b4 being diagnosed and i found it very hard to ajust back because i thought being like i was was normal.Any way it did involve seeing a gp about it because i refused to take my carbs, they made me have massive mood swings,my body prefered being hyper...thats not uncommon either.

  • carbs are bad for you though ???? were you on a hypoglycemic diet ??????

  • I know this doctor. All of videos featuring Dr. Anhalt should be listened to.

  • Thank you. I was just told I might have this and I really appreciated your video since I know very little about it.

  • this condition sucks !! especially the weight loss, i hate it. The palpatations are a worry.

  • i was on carbinmozole for 18 months ..i actually liked having graves desease, and being hyper..more fun than being normal, sounds weird but true

  • I think he's an IDIOT. My doctor wanted to destroy my thyroid and put me on meds for the rest of my life. After 6 weeks of Methizoid treatment my thyroid readings were normal again and I'm only taking 1/2 the doseage that he prescribed. I Doctors like to treat not cure!

  • I have anti somanal antibodies that cause hyperthyroidism. Is there any way to reduce these anti bodies?

  • First..The least invasive treatment is Anti-thyroid medications. Second..Radioactive Iodine is the SAME RADIATION used in the atomic bombs!!and should be the LAST choice for treatment! ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN!!! It can cause them to go sterile! PLUS, it makes them permanently HypO-thyroid!!! I think this guy should go back to school before he treats ANYONE ELSE!!!

  • Gosh, I have most of those symptoms, especially the unintended weight loss.

  • yeh i have just about all of them and i have to start treatment soon. Its to know what the problem is.

  • I'm at 85% when i got o my doctor he tells me nothing. I had to take it upon myself to teach myself. I've gone for an iodine treatment and now have gane 60lbs but still sweat and can't stand heat. I still get heart palputations. I'm confused about what going on in my body. I come from a small city so we only have one doctor for it. I wish i could get better help.

  • I suffer from hyperthyroidism.

  • I think I have it too o__O

  • Very interesting video,A+++
