  • "When you run with the Doctor, it feels like it will never end. But however hard you try, you can't run forever. Everybody knows that everybody dies, and nobody knows it like the Doctor. But I do think that all the skies of all the worlds might just turn dark if he ever, for one moment, accepts it. Everybody knows that everybody dies. But not every day. Not today."

  • There's no such thing as a Tenth Doctard epic scene, unless 'epic' has become synonymous with 'crap'.

  • I understand that his sentiment was sweet and everything, and what he did was excellent, but does anyone else find it just a little disturbing that the doctor made it so a replica of River's soul would live eternally inside a computer program?

  • "What he did was give her a screwdriver...WHY WOULD I DO THAT?" <-- love that line!!

  • Ok so was the future Doctor planning in going back to that time to save her or is she stuck in the computer thing?

  • @MiiCameron I think she may be stuck but they might whip out a twist storyline.

  • How is she able to know the name of the doctor in this episode if we saw that he doesent really tell her his name

  • @AerialFire It is much much later in the story. We haven't seen the last of Doctor Song. Only the beginning.

  • @AerialFire in the new series that is coming out this year... when the QUESTION is asked and the Doctor reveals his name on the fields

  • You nostalgic idiot Doctor

  • but how sad is it that you see how your future wife dies :c it must make you cry to know that you don't in which order she dies

  • That's why I love this doctor! ^-^ He doens't know her, but still he saves her! <3 "Come on stay with me! One last ride!" =)

  • At least River Song survived... No, wait, I mean Melody Pond. No, wait, I mean Mels. No, wait, I mean Cleopatra. No wait, I mean Mrs. Robinson. No, wait, I mean Jefferson Adams Hamilton. No, wait, I mean Mrs. Doctor... No, wait, I DO mean River Song...

  • @TheAfroThunder1 No I mean Pinkie pie..No I mean Twilight sparkle..No I mean Rainbow Dash...No I mean Fluttershy..No I mean Rarity..No I mean Applejack Wait I DO mean Pinkie pie!

  • @TheAfroThunder1 No I mean ROFL..No I mean LMAO..No I mean TTYL..No I mean OMG..No wait I do mean LOL!

  • well it might not be long now until we see the doctor give her the scredriver, cause 'the fall of the eleventh' sounds so much like the next doctor, and as we say in those series 6 shorts, we saw the eleventh doctor take her to the singing towers on a picnic,

  • I hope the 11th Doctor finds a way to bring her back to life.

  • @IzzyJG99 That's what we in the business call "viewer manipulation".

  • Epic, he dosen't even know her at this point and he is still willing to do this to save her

  • @pearsonm957 That's what makes the doctor so amazing <3 :)

  • "I'm VERY GOOD!"

    sooo true!

  • "You and me, one last run."

No matter how many times I see this, that line gets to me. Every. Damn. Time.

I will forever love River Song and her Doctor. The Doctor... in the TARDIS... Next stop, everywhere.

  • press 9 fr tennants trol face :D

  • Just this once, EVERYBODY LIVES!

  • I love how he just leaped over the bookshelf like it was nothing.

  • strength to destroy most of the tardis. This is why the David to Matt regeneration was so more powerful then elder ones, producers wanted David to have a grand exit as they didn't want him to leave.

  • @kaizoisevil your wrong mate it wasn't the radiation from the masters machine that was released from the doctors regeneration that caused the tardis to crash. It was the sheer resistance of David's will not to want to regenerate. The tardis is protected from radiation (this is to protect the travellers inside). This is stated in a interview with producers and cast. This "will power" produced a more 'aggressive' regeneration which released more excess regeneration energy from David and had the s

  • I HAVE THAT SONG ON MY IPOD. <3

  • I kinda like to think sometimes that in his future The Doctor is going figure out a way to bring River Song back from the datacore.

  • That's not 11's screwdriver, right? Maybe it's the 12's...

  • @tehmuffinman346 Hm.... Nice deduction...

  • @tehmuffinman346 Watch the short with 3 rivers you will know.

  • The beauty of the writing of Steven Moffat: Shown here.

  • epic epic if i could say how epic it is with numbers then it would be 99999999999999999...... and beyond

  • @123TechTutorials your opinion is idiotic

  • This moment, from when they turn away to the end of the episode, and the end of "The Doctor Dances" are two of my favorite Doctor Who moments. "Just this once, everybody lives." Tennant and Eccleston were awesome Doctors.

  • those 2 eps were the best of the 10th doctor

  • @123TechTutorials How is he one of the worst?

  • Excuse me? I thought every 10th Doctor scene was epic?

  • @DarkHypernova Yeah but he saves the future and causes a paradox wich is more epic.

  • @DarkHypernova Only if 'epic' is synonymous with 'crap' then yes, you're right.

  • @LegoDaleks i have a question for you, why in the name of hell would yo watch a vid that says "Doctor Who - 10th Doctor - Epic Scene" if you think that every scene is crap. think about that before taking a swing a other people.

  • @DarkHypernova Well it isn't. Every scene featuring EVERY Doctor is epic.

  • @daleksvscybermen well said :)

  • That was so silly

  • So we've seen River's end (not the worst way to go considering other deaths in Doctor Who) and her introduction, all out of order. So, in theory, at some point the doctor will just stop seeing her - all the points where their timelines intersect will be used. So they may or may not get a goodbye from the doctor's view of the timeline... time travel. Confusing, wibbly-wobbly stuff.

  • One thing I've never understood, if he jumps down that thing headfirst, how does he land?

  • @slightlyinsaneFTW like a boss

  • It would have been better if she died. Shes rubbish.

  • @e7l13 They all are.

  • @Redhellmet if you mean all the companions have been rubbish, except from donna and jack, i agree.

  • @e7l13 Jack was ok at first, but then he got his own show (shudder). Donna shouts a little too much for my liking. I remember her shouting all the way through one of the Christmas Specials - an hour long!

  • after watching the miniseries i cant watch this without tearing up it's so sad this whole episode is heart wrenching especially when she goes to match up diaries

  • i just noticed,if the rivers future is the doctors past than does that mean her favorit is the 10th?

  • @soric16 Yeah but she said her doctor did not come. that was Matt so matt is her doctor. lol

  • "I am very good!" Haha I love David. =)

  • This episode had a working title of River's Run... it should have kept it. :P

  • Vashta Nerada is COOL !

  • @HowToVidsOfficial Hoe dare you!

river was BRILLIANT she was an aparent love interest that is the daughter of a companion he's never met! only on doctor who can you see that!

  • @Kataaangkiss123 To quote River herself... "Spoilers!"

  • @Kataaangkiss123 That's stupid though.

  • I Would Just Rather Leave Her Dead!

  • @HowToVidsOfficial

I think there's a nuclear fire with your name on it. Go.

  • Very few shows let you see the epic ending of a character before you even know who she trully is. LOVE this show!

  • @fantasyrulestheworld But she's a crapman. It would have been better if we never found out who she was.

  • @fantasyrulestheworld There is no other show that does that!

  • @fantasyrulestheworld Actually, many shows do that. river Song is just Captain Jack & Captain Jack is just Captain Scarlett. You Nuvians are just blind to how unoriginal this cartoon soap opera is.

  • @fantasyrulestheworld I trully wish you would spell like a normal person.

  • Now every time I see River, I feel so sad for her...

  • at the end can't they be brought back into the library as well like the other people or are they permanently stuck in a computer system

  • @reachfanatic1234 If I remember correctly only the people who were transferred with the teleport can be brought back because their physical bodies were stored also, where just the mind is in the "ghost data" or whatever they called it.

  • @drziegler so pretty much the doctor just left them in eternal purgatory

  • so pretty much at the end of matt smith's turn as the doctor he'll end it by giving river a sonic screwdriver with her consciousnesses in it

  • I think if David Tennent ran a marathon he'd straight up win because of all these running scenes

  • is it pathetic that I cried while watching this?

  • @teamdumbledoresarmy when i watch it i can't stop crying

  • @thedoctor9210 good to know I wasn't alone

  • @0:59 Epic parkour skills

  • The one dislike is from Davros

  • Oddly enough without Amy and Rory thier wouldn't be a River Song and the tenth Doctor would have die. So in some way Amy and Rory are more imporant to the Tenth Doctor.

  • @DoctorWriter13 Yes, but the Doctor is what caused The DoctorDonna to save the universe from Davros, thus saving the human race and Amy/Rory, so bacically River would have never exsisted. Thus, The Doctor is more important that River. Check and Mate!

  • @TheAfroThunder1 hey, the doctor crashed into amy's yard because he expelled radiation into his tardis during regeneration. That radiation was because the master left the bolt running. So count him in too!

  • @kaizoisevil I guess (Though RTD was the one who wrote it).

  • @DoctorWriter13 @TheAfroThunder1 No he wouldn't have died because the only reason he went to the library in the first place was because River sent him a message on psychic paper.

  • i didnt dislike cause i dont like it i love docter who but i just wanted to be the only one lol ;)

  • This makes this scene just brilliant because technically it's 11th Doctor and 10th Doctor working together to keep her alive :') and thumbs up if now that you've seen all of River Songs episodes with Matt Smith, this episode and ending is so cleverly emotionally engaging once watched again knowing what she's been through with him :)

  • David's catch phrase should have been "parkour parkour" lol so badass

  • Going back to watch this now, brings a whole new, deeper meaning to this scene.

  • I did a story on the poem... I got a good grade...

  • So.. The doc gave River a screwdriver in her past and his future, which she kept and then gave him here. He then keeps it and gives it to her later, for her to give him... But where did the screwdriver come from?

  • @CestLimee People assume the time is a strict progression of course to effect, but actually, from a non-linear non-subjective point it's more like a big ball with wibbly wobbly, timey wimey... stuff.

  • @MichaelFdeGodoy Lol, yes I know that. Complicated, wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff...

  • @CestLimee 12 gave it to her. I just have a feeling that 12 will give her the screwdriver because it's a different design than what 11 has.

  • @CestLimee the many questions about paradox's is where did it originate from in the first place. Like I don't know if you've seen Futurama but in one episode Fry goes into the past, accidentally kills his grandpa, but isn't erased from existence then and without realizing that she's his real grandma, sleeps with her. So it turns out that he is his own grandpa making his sperm a paradox. I couldn't think of a funnier example :')

  • @CestLimee it was his screwdriver to begin with. Eventually, he gives it to her. So yes, at some point, the doctor will have to give up his screwdriver.

  • @TheWildSack

    Spoilers.. ;-)

  • Shouldn't she have said "Melody Pond has been saved"?

  • 0:59 - 1:01

i would love to see a blooper seen where his foot got caught on the bookcase and he went tumbling, head-over-heels, face-first on the floor.

  • Look-a-that! I'm very good!

    -What have you done?

    Shaved her :D

    Tennant ftw :D

  • The 4rd saison is the best season ever! I love this season! I love Doctor who!

  • 0:59 I want to see a blooper where he failed that.

  • @8L0NDI3 looks fun yes ^3^

  • Ah, back when I actually liked River Song...

  • Oh River, I will miss you when you show up for the last time :(

  • I was seriously hoping you would have River's excellent words after she realized the Doctor "saved" her ;-) Her love for him was evident in her very tone.

  • "Look at that, I'm very good!"

  • this episode can only be truly comprehended after seeing it at least 5 or 6 times, because after seeing it that many times you pay attention to the little details which are the important ones in this episode.

  • 1:39 :)

  • The one dislike is fr the Vash Narada.

  • @recalibration Hey, who turned out the lights?

  • @recalibration ummmm that cant be right since the vashta narada are a million billion priannah armada

  • @lostsagadragon

Ah, did The Doctor not say that every planet has them in some sort of quantity? IIRC, those of Earth are less in number & tend to feed on carrion/roadkill... XD

  • @recalibration ah but i never said the armada was together at teh same time now did i?

  • @lostsagadragon

ps/ I see what you did there. Well done!

  • After seeing Harry Potter I keep expecting him to lick his lips every ten seconds...

  • @SubwayStar7 Ikr!

When I first started watching Doctor Who, the second I saw him...

    I was like "O. m. g..............O.o................it's Barty Crouch Jr............."

But eventually it ended up being whenever I watch TGOF...I'm just like...

"Wth?....he's not wearing converse! Or a trench coat!..."

*turns off. goes to watch DW.* lol

  • @SubwayStar7 me 2! he seems 2 adjust 2 all his character that he plays!!!!

  • @kloverklue river song is an important part in this show...

  • Beautiful!!! I forgot that happened to River and now I'm watching Let's Kill Hilter and I'm like what's going on? LOL

  • DT is good, but in RTD stories he wasn't good, due to RTD

  • Omg, I totally forgot that happened to River! :D

  • I like the bit where he's running

  • Comment removed

  • Creepy face on a toilet lid!

  • I've always liked the part with the Doctor going down the shaft with screwdriver in hand.

  • if a scene includes any doctor

    you know its awesome

  • @Dartpaw86 that sort of situation has been coined as a "wibbly wobbly timey wimey" situation, where a piece of information goes in a closed time loop.

  • Comment removed

  • Wait... I hear the Bad Wolf tune... Oh well.

  • I love the irony of River's last time seeing The Doctor is The Doctor's first time meeting her.

  • @swimteamizzle1114 its the only bit in the episodes with matt smith that makes me sad when shes with rory and she say shes scared that because of their timelines one day shell see him and he wont recognise her at all :(

  • This scene gives me shivers every time I watch it and I watched like 100 times! lol

  • It's so awesome. I love this scene.

  • "When you run with the doctor it feels like it will never end but however hard you try you can't run for ever. Everybody knows that everybody dies and nobody knows it like the doctor. But I do think that all the skies of all the worlds might just turn dark if he ever for one moment accepts it."

  • i love how you canhere the doctor's theme in the backround

  • Does the doctor know who river song is at this point?

  • @TheKingMgee No, this is her first appearance in the Doctor's Timeline.

  • River: But not today.

    trollgirl

    lol

  • I absolutely love this scene, and love these episodes with River Song. But I hate how they carried out her story. So rushed, so much of a letdown, and you still never really understood just why the Doctor loved her.

  • I definitely got a little teary watching that. Part of it is this most epic rendition of the Doctor's Theme. Part of it is just because Tennant is the most spectacular Doctor there ever was or will be. Oh, I miss him.

  • Stop saying oh and save her already! XD

  • Not to be nit-picky or anything, since I am a fan now, but how did the Doctor survive the fall? He disabled the platform, jumped in headfirst, and fell all the way to the core of the planet where the CPU was held.

I guess you could say a random air pocket saved him again, but that just leaves a huge gap. Like when the Titanic didn't kill evryone on the planet in Donna's alt timeline when on the Christmas episode it was clearly stated the the crash would kill the whole planet. Little plotholes..

  • @PinkSneaselGirl A wizard did it.

(By "wizard" I mean Steven Moffat.)

  • @MrLoxinator Are you referencing The Simpsons? (sorry random) And yes, Steven Moffat can get away with anything for this reason. XD

  • @narwhal17 I wasn't referencing The Simpsons, but you understand.

  • @MrLoxinator Oh Moffat. Sometimes he just streches the word of God stuff too far.

Or Torchwood somehow got on the ship and did something to dampen the blast, but never took credit for saving the planet since Britian was still utterly destoryed. Might explain where Torchwood relocated in order to help out with the Sentaren invasion.

  • @PinkSneaselGirl Well, simply put logic doesn't apply in Doctor Who for one. I mean, sonic screwdrivers, regeneration, Daleks. That's all you need to realize that Doctor Who wasn't meant to be like... exactly on everything on physics.

  • @HyukanUPSB Yeah but when you have something that you say will kill everyone but its prevented, then go back and have the thing happen but not kill everyone, it becomes a contridiction. But again, for story purposes the ship killing everyone on the planet wasn't convenient since they had to keep going and show the danger the Darkness presented and what might happen if the Doctor wasn't there. So small retcon for the little story arch for the bigger picture so to speak.

  • @PinkSneaselGirl Cats have 9 lives, and they always land on their feet. Time Lords have 13 lives. If they don't land on their feet, then they're worse off than cats! And the Doctor is no pussy.

Ergo, he landed on his feet.

  • @IceMetalPunk Heh, best explaination ever.XD

  • @PinkSneaselGirl I aim to please :)

  • @IceMetalPunk

But with as many times as the Doctor has cheated death, not for his own sake but for others...just how many lives has he used? And...how many does he have before the one inevitable law of life catches up with him... the law of averages. Squeeze the rules, bend the rules, break them a hundred times and scrape by. But at some point...the law of averages catches up to all of us.

  • @Windclaw You mean the Law of Large Numbers? Those are two different things, and the Law of Averages is fictitious. And I don't get what that has to do with the Doctor at all? I'm lost here...

  • @Windclaw Well if he keeps getting younger with every reincarnation like he has been doing since the beginning, maybe he'll eventually just cease to exist. I dunno, I'm just pulling stuff out of my ass, but he definitely just keeps getting younger and younger every reincarnation. Physically, he's now in his, what? Mid-20s?

  • @Windclaw he's supposed to have just one more in him, but as someone pointed out a convenient plot twist would be that (*spoilers*) when River gave all her regenerations to un-poison him that it would give him a few more.

  • They better cut back to this scene in the future if they future Doctor comes back to save her

  • I cried the first time I saw this. I dont know why but now i'm crying again :P Doctor Who makes me so emotional.

  • Im just gunna say it... David Tennant is by far the best doctor!

  • this scene gives me chills

  • Tenth Doctor= most EPIC running ever

  • "Everybody knows that everybody dies, but nobody knows it like the doctor."

That made me so sad! :,( *sniff*

  • "this whole time Donna was probably like WTF?"
