  • I love this new venture it's great fresh and really enjoyable to listen too so give it a chance or go listen to brittney boys and girls

  • just imagine the desire to make music.. well done Bernard! great songs

  • Bernard Sumner the greatest genius of all time.

  • New Order died. Bad L. never lived. 90s music is unmarketable now. Their manager should be fired. BL had to cancel their USA tour for lack of ticket sales.

  • Hey there, wicked album!

  • all these guys songs sound like New Order's (last?) 2005 album "waiting for the sirens call"...it's good but not great...nothing as good or as unique as The Last Shadow Puppets or Miles Kane's Rascals..

  • its not that bright and shine like NO was...

  • hey!

  • hes gotta make a living and lets be fair New Orders last good LP was "Brotherhood" and that was 1986

  • 1993 Republic...stupid

  • nah! " Brotherhood" ..... twat !

  • waiting for the sirens call had a couple of good tracks but the majority were fillers. This sounds like a filler too.

  • How many times can Barney start a song with 'hey there' or 'hey you' or 'hey now'.....this is awful.....how sad.....RIP JD and NO

  • Hey there, whats your deal :-P

  • Hey you...good one.....love Barney

  • @weirdalfan1980 hey there weirdfan1980, what ya gonna do? Like I said, this is crap - what ya gonna do about it, this is your chance to shout it!!!!! Oh please.......

  • @weirdalfan1980 haahhaa BS IS THE BEST

  • @scifitim That's just his style man, Gotta give him credit for carrying on. I think the song is fantastic and most of all , Positive.

  • @vintagezigg Great stuff, thanks for sharing, Zigg.

  • hey there, times changes and so does music.

  • Non risk-taking dullard U2-type rock.

  • It's far from ground breaking, but it really makes me happy. Can't say the same about U2 songs...

  • I Really Like it ! No, I love It ! Wonderful message.Nice tune. Perfect.! And I'm going for a 5th replay

  • electronic was miles better

  • When did Bernard Sumner join The Who!? I want NEW ORDER back!!!

  • i love good music from the heart!!

  • I saw these at MEN Arena last night, supporting the Pet Shop Boys, and they are absolutely BRILLIANT Live.

I would urge anyone to go and see this band before they start bandying around words like "crap" etc.

The energy Bernard has is amazing. His dancing is still pants, but as for a Live band they are superb!

Jake's a fine vocalist and it's great to see Stephen Morris smashing hell out of his drumkit, just like old times.

  • They also played Bizarre Love Triangle, Temptation, Out of Control and Love Will Tear us Apart.

It was like a mini New Order gig. The BL songs are much better Live.

I'm not sure I'd buy their album (unless it was a live album) but I would definitely go and see them again.

  • @LebaneseBrit Wow!! Pet Shop Boys and Bad Liutenant

    a dream come true!

  • no pleasin some cunts is the

  • oh dear, think i'll put temptation on. i tried.

  • QUICK NOTE

The Killers got their name from the New Order Video "Crystal" The band Performing the single in the clip are called (look at the bass Drum) The Killers.....

  • What's this got to do with anything?

    Everyone loves a smart-arse!!

  • Joy Division and New Order have been one of the most inspirational and important bands to come from England over the years. It was bands such as these The Smiths, Echo & The Bunnymen, New Order, Depech Mode...to name a obvious few who have inspired some of the better indie acts today. I am not saying Bad Lieutenant is the best they have produced but hell I would play this hands down over much of whats being spat out in England and the rest of the Globe..

  • @cloneroom you forgot about the mighty stone roses..they have surely inspired a lot..

  • New Order are quite good. They are like a cross between the Editors and the Klaxons

  • Don't you mean The Editors and the Klaxons are about half as good as New Order.

  • i gotta give it to bernie for still going for it, but i personally prefer the electronic stuff

  • put this straight: Go listen to Electronic then. ^^

  • @hyoncake i agree, they peaked with the 80s new order material

  • This is the first cd from this project, and the reaction is mixed now this is just the 1st Bad lieutenant album, maybe they will gte better, if U like dance music, that can happen but Bernard is playing to the bands strength of Guitars and less Sythesizers.

  • They opened for Bat For Lashes tonight. Never heard of them before tonight. They were pretty OK. Bat For Lashes ran a better show though. Sorry.

  • Who the fuck are bat Lashes? Are they much of legends then Bernard Sumner> founder of not 1 but 2 influencial bands.

  • Can't say I've ever heard of Bernard Sumner, nor of his bands, and I do know a wide array of music. Bat For Lashes is the band created by Natasha Khan from London, and is sweeping over Europe now. She just finished her international tour last night, and is already having her songs played in movies and shows. She is brilliant, and not cliché. Her show last night definitely got more out of the crowd...

  • Bernard Sumner in Joy division, a post punk band til Ians death. They influence Nine inch nail or the cure. After Ians death they reformed New order, the creator of the best selling 12 inch single Blue Monday. Their mix or rock and electronic dance music is still being widely used today. New order broke up because the bassist called it quits and specifically told New order not to persue New order, now Bernard and Phil and Steve formed Bad Lieutenant with Jake Evans from Leroy and Rambo.

  • I know Joy Division, and honestly could never get into them. I thought Ian Curtis' voice was boring. That's my opinion...

  • and your opinion is worth shit

  • ...coming from the guy who states how he hates that "totalitarian governments are shitting on the masses", and yet you write such anti-individualistic commentary? Sorry bub, I prefer to think small-minded peoples' opinions, like yours, are worth shit.

  • You really do know fuck all about fuck all.

  • God you're ignorant. Are you even English? Otherwise I wouldn't be so confused as to why you suck at the language...and just in general.

  • I am not God, but I can see why you think i am, but god is a fckin kunt, just like you. So why dont you just fk the fk off.

  • lol VoxJoxx's u key has broken...

  • dont mind him mate Ian had a great voice not necessarily a great singer though fuck it Dylan cant sing either but hes a great voice

  • you never heard of Bernard Sumner, "nor of his bands?" What are you, 12? Then you're going to compare him to someone called Bat For Lashes? Bernard Sumner and his bands are legends. Natasha Khan will be working at McDonald's in two years.

  • Actually I'm 21, and not from the UK. Natasha Khan is from the UK, and widely known internationally. Sorry, but they OPENED for her, she was the header. But I guess that doesn't matter to you. And also, her success is only growing, and actually her music is very nice. So don't knock it without knowing it. I gave your band a chance.

  • New Order is infinitely more famous than bat for lashes (yes, i like bat for lashes lots) - New Order has one of the best selling 12" of all time. BUT, bernard here is old now and should retire, not making crap like this Bad Lieutenant, which of course no one has heard of.

  • eh here...

New Order have THE best selling 12" of all time - Blue Monday

oh and, Bat for Lashes... hahahahahahaha

  • no haris has the best selling 12" of all time lol

  • If Natasha "Do you want fries with that" Khan (sorry rxmeister) is still going in thirty years then Ill bear my arse on Manchester Town Hall steps.

    Crap for Lashes indeed!

  • fuck, this track has only 13,259 listens as of this writing and its been up for 3 months. Don't get me wrong, this is damn good (even though musically it's a bit like the who) but it's not exactly being eaten up even by new order fans (possibly cause it was a bad name choice, burying themselves under listing for the 2 movies of the same name). I give more cred to bat for lashes by virtue of CURRENT output. nope. new order will never make another "temptation", or even "regret".

  • If anyone's passing McDonalds, could you pop in and ask Natasha for a Chicken and Bacon Supreme? Cheers.

Seriously, I agree with you about the name. Ask if someone's heard of Bad Lieutenant and they automatically say, "What, the film?"

After listening to this track and "Sink or Swim", I think they should drop the word "Lieutenant".

For the record, I loved Joy Division, New Order and Electronic.

  • @evilsnakes1 my god it does sound like the wont get fooled again ..ish ..it sort of makes me think of joy divisons stance when they first started out and how those values have totally disolved with time... and no suprises that some of their stuff sounds like the last neworder album without hooky on bass ...good luck with the hacienda ..mark2!!

  • New Order also opened for Bronski Beat years ago but nobody is going to say that Bronski Beat is a better and a more respected band. Whether you like Joy Division and New Order or not, they have made music history that few can claim the same.

  • Without Hook they are nothing!

  • I rephrase that without hook they are 25% less of a band ^^

  • Her success can grow exponentially, and she'll never experience one millionth of the success that Bernard Sumner has had. As for you, if you've never heard of New Order your music credibility is less than zero. Download a few of their songs, and then take them back to the moon with you, because obviously you're not from this planet.

  • Comparing James Blunt to Bad Lieutenant is a bunch of arse. HANG YOUR HEAD, AIMEE CHARLES! HANG YOUR HEAD IN SHAME. (cock)

  • Though I love the Eighties and I am probably stuck there myself in many respects sometimes it is time for artists to move on from what they once were, in reading previous posts it seems as if no one was overly fond of electronic, which I thought was an incredible collaberation...and I feel that this is the next chapter of Bernard Sumner...

  • I think Electronic was Bernard's (and Marr's) best side project. IMHO the first album was the best, though I also liked the other two (Raise the Pressure and Twisted Tenderness).

  • this is good!

  • I agree with Sophia, these guys have lost their edge here, however not all oldies are afraid of trying different things - Ian Brown for instance experiments with his music but i think at the end of the day you either have a good song or you dont and a good song will sound good on an accoustic guitar as much as it would with a full band with synths and guitars.

The biggest compliment though is that after all these years were still talking about them and theyre still better than most others...

  • I think that Bad Lieutenant are awesome! Who an blame them for trying something different? Nice one Bernard!

  • when you are young and angry the music is pure and has an edge..this is just cheesy pop music..sad really..all the great ones lose it...morrissey,bono,robert smith...just going through the motions im afraid..that being said, this is obv. better than radio/mtv...still not saying much...

  • First of all, I think you should give Bernand some credit here! This person happens to be responsible for creating some of the best tracks in pop music. Secondly, Morrissey never "lost it" and these three (Morrissey, Smith, Sumner) will never be in the same category as Bono!! The reasons are pretty obvious!

  • first of all, i do give bernard tons of credit, that is why im disappointed in what hes doing here..he knows better..saying morrissey never lost it is mind numbingly hilarious..he has a song on this newest album talking about a cheeseburger..lol..a small drop from viva hate and kill uncle ..no? im not blaming these artists, they get old,fat and happy thus making the music boring and the lyrics less stinging..just makes me sad seeing what they were and what they are now....

  • Didn't Morrissey sing about "America - the land of hamburgers" too? Cheeseburgers appear to be a tiny twist in the tale here. lol

Fat or not, some artists simply don't grow old. Or, even if that's the case, there's always PetShopBoys so it doesn't get boring:)

  • i know they stay young in our minds, i'd much rather remember morrissey from top of the pops in 1984 then see him crawling around the stage wailing" life is a pigsty".just awful..

i dont care about them getting old,.fat,bald.just try to make great music.dont do it for the sake of doing it , like alot of the older guys are today..going through the motions doesnt make for great music.

  • Terrible song, there are a couple of stinkers on the album and this is one of em.

  • like i said this song seems to be the weakest song on album, I dont know when i get my CD, its ordered. What is the other stinker?

  • There are four very poor songs imo;

    Dynamo

Poisonous intent (this is the worst)

    Head into tomorrow

    Runaway

These songs for me are just weak. However 6 out of the 10 songs are quite good and have someting to offer so it's not all bad and of course it's objective anyway.

  • This is a rip off of a song by 'the who' forget the name but definite rip.

  • everyone rips off and samples off other bands nowadays so what is the difference here?

  • who tha f... is the standart ?, I do not see some respect for NEW ORDER, PETER HOOK, SUMMER, OR BY ANY CHANCE CURTIS WITH UR COMMENTS. ANYWAY.. THIS IS A VERY GOOD SONG, BETTER THAN EVERYTHING ON THE RADIO ANYHOW..

  • no,it's shite

  • Love the guitars! This rocks! If the rest of the album sounds like this I cant wait to hear it. Did I mention the drums... avesome!

  • Too much guitar, cheesy yeah yeah yeahs in the lyrics, sounds too happy and upbeat, not enough electronic synthesizers and peter hook is missing from bass. But Id still listen to it cause its still better than most music out there.

  • If you go to amazon, the 30 second snipets are up, and by jugding the samples, this song seems to be the weekest of the album, IMO, if you get the album, I think you will be happy with it. Nothing wrong with guitars! Joy division was post-punk and heavy guitars. Bernard and the band is just putting their talenst together.

  • Too happy?

  • it sounds like 'waiting for the siren's call' disc. it could be the 2º part of it.

  • Barney is good now when trying to make people feel happy and positive... this song has this nice back up vocal "yeah yeah yeah" or something in the chorus. Good one.

  • love it!

  • Very acoustic for Bernard, Loving the vocals. Can't wait to hear the whole album!

  • I like it!!

  • I love it!

  • LOL, nice and guess who is in Electronic and New order, this comparison to them fails. This song sounds like Morning Night and day but i dont care about that

  • what's it supposed to sound like, slayer or motorhead or something, of course it'll sound a bit like one of those bands.

  • really man??What are you talking about man??????

Barney IS neworder-electronic so he can do whatever the fuck wants!!!COME ON!

What do you expect? To write different styles everytime he forms a different band?

  • sorry

  • Toller Song!!!
