When I do this, inevitably the frames that I cropped and their aspect ratio do not conform to the rest of the sequence. How do i zoom in and make the clips all the same size? if that makes sense!
hi, i have a small question. Is it possible to zoom during editing, like you see on Quentin Tarantino's films (Kill Bill or Inglourious Basters, etc) or like Michael Bay type zoom on fast moving cars? I mean, do you have to zoom while shooting or it can be done during editing itself?
@bkb1993bkb thanks for your comment. Can you tell me how to search or what do i type to search it, as i am not able to find exact;y what im looking for.
@abirbo i think this would help watch?v=58-88FBWuS0 .. or if you like to experiment go to >motion tab> Basic Motion>then on the scale use the pen tool(p) > click on the green line which represents the timeline(you can see a diamond shape which represent a keyframe), move the yellow indicator to the right and click again using pen tool(p) then on that keyframe apply what you learned here.. enlarge the scale .. :D have a nice editing day
@wavey61 Depends on a couple things. First what codec you are using. If you are using a "native" codec (meaning a codec that FCP 100% supports like DV or HDV ) then you don't need to render small things like zooming in to preview it.
Always make sure you video codec matches your sequence.
Finally on your timeline there is a little button that says "RT" at the top left of the timeline. Click this button and select "Unlimited RT". This allows you to view a "low quality mode" without rendering.
That's excellent - thanks. I can't believe how useless the official FCE help is - it's like it was written by somebody who's never actually tried to do ANYTHING with the product.
When I want to zoom in does the picture loose quality? as an example: a whole person picture and I want to zoom to his hand only. Can you advice me please?
just wanted to type something here but i see that i am not the only one
being bothered by the fact that you use this mother of a murder victim for your tutorials.
Dude take it off

The dude rushed an interview with the mother of a murder victim? That's kind of messed up. But when you're in a rush, you're in a rush!

I got a question, how did you do that without having to render? If I make any little changes, I have to render the whole thing again.
