This video almost made me fry my motherboard. The motherboard cannot be laying flat against the case. The case in this video has pre-installed standoffs which raise the motherboard up at a few points. If your case doesn't have these pre-installed standoffs, you must screw in the standoffs yourself. your motherboard WILL short-circuit if it is lying flat against the case.

@pokestory1 Most graphic cards fit into the pci-e (pci express) slot on your motherboard, some motherboards have a built in graphics card though (like the one Bucky is using), but it's usualy worth the money buying a graphics card that fits into the pci-e slot.

@meroxyersox In this case, there were built-in mobo standoffs so he was fine. Yes, the points of contact are metal, but they only occur where the screws line up, not on the solder pins! Keep in mind, this vid was made back in 2008, case designs are different now.

You went through this part way to fast. Mounting the motherboard and the use of standoffs are critical. Also plugging a cable into "something that looks like" doesn't cut it. A lot of connectors look similar. Be very specific as to what cable goes to what connector on the motherboard or you will have someone forcing a connection where it doesn't belong. Wiring the motherboard and the power supply are too important to be treated lightly.

Do not forget to ground yourself when dealing with the computer! lol One static shock would screw your whole computer. Either get a grounding wire that attaches from your arm to your case or keep touching the metal casing to free yourself from static electricity. Shocking the case won't hurt your motherboard as long as you've installed the standoffs correctly.

if it's a mid tower case most likely it fits, babyAT, MicroATX, and standard ATX, but probably not extended ATX.
