Revealing Escalator Safety Hazards

I'm now extremely scared to wear laced sneakers, flip-flops, sandles, and other shoes on escalators! Now all I want to use at the mall is the elevator. I'm DONE with escalators!

This happened to me when I was like 4 or 5 and it scared the crap out of me. Tore the end of my shoe clean off, my mother and two other concerned people helped get me out of the shoe before the stupid thing tore my foot clean off. Luckily they did get me out and only my shoe got ripped in half and not my foot! I agree, escalators are far more dangerous than people realize.

I used to be scared of escalators, but I am scared of elevators though. Escalator needs to be respected, do not play on them or slide down on them.

I saw a 1 year old get her finger cut off at the knuckle this morning on one of these. Most disturbing thing I've ever seen. Please be careful.

One of the reasons I simply HATE, HATE, HATE escalators, especially descending escalators.
