  • What about Male Victims?

  • Comment removed

  • im surprised at how calm and collected the women was.. i was freaking out and put 2 holes in my wall before my fiance brought me to the cops kicking and screaming..

  • Because I was raped, I'm involved in a rape-support group now; and the effects on women's lives are devastating. Something that DOES NOT help the cause for prevention is the number of young women who go to bars, get drunk, go home with some guy willingly, wake up the next morning in a foul mood, and then cry "rape." The court calendars need to be reserved for legitimate cases, and not crowded with frivolous instances of irritation over poor judgement. Please help.

  • @gbwisconsin I couldn't agree with you more on all points. As a man who was raped years ago, it is indeed a long rough road to say the least. What is so sad to me is that very rarely do we see rape victims receive much, if any, justice in the cases. My best advice for anyone is to surround themselves with those who care and those who can support, similar to your support group in essence.

  • @drc1981, my rape-support-group mentor and I met with a local judge 8 months ago and presented our case in these areas: 1) recognition of sex through intimidation as rape; 2) recognition of a woman taking sexual advantage of an incapacitated male as rape; 3) long-term community-based support for rape victims; 4) recognition of rape as a potentially deadly form of assault; and 5) recognition of non-consensual tickling on a bound person as torture. We hope it made a difference, even a small one.

  • @gbwisconsin Well I was most certainly incapacitated. So thank you for agreeing with me on that part. Unfortuanately I don't know of many areas who would consider what happened to me as a rape. Did you ever hear on what they thought of your remarks? I would add 6) Introduction of community-based support for male rape victims. Also unfortunately, no such thing now exists to my knowledge.
