I remember this song being sung by " The Gaylets of Jamaica " during the late 60s. It was really beautifully executed by them. If someone has this recording it would be a pleasure listening to it....

Perfect pop song. It has everything. Great bass, instrumentation, percussion. Verse chord changes terrific, Excellent vocal and brilliant hook. And of course it keeps us waiting for the last chorus. Love it !

Sara - brilliant that you like this song, the video comes from Top Of The Pops, of course. This is the very first single I bought. Living in Fulham, I went to the Chelsea Drugstore, in Kings Road. At that time, 1969, Chelsea was swinging wildly!

Thanks for your reply. Cilla's early singles were ballads generally, but her later singles were more upbeat. Cilla was singing live on Top Of The Pops, a rare event, most singers mimed usually!
