@ltootsie421 Lynn Anderson's not stopped singing. She's only 63 years old. Just saw her at CMA Fest this year, on two different stages.... sounds better than ever. Also, go to her website and you'll see she's touring all over the country.
Absolutely wonderful singers with great songs. Brings back sweet memories of past generations whose songs give so much depth to the hearts and souls of mankind. Wish people would spend time singing or composing songs and making music than shooting senselessly around the world
I first heard this when Cissy Spacek sang it with that old gibson in "A Coal Miner's Daughter". Eddy's old records are terrific and fun to listen to. very time capsule.
I learned how to sing by listening to Old Country way up in Balsam Creek Ontario. The songs are etched in my mind. Old Country makes a person feel good about themselves. It was time when we didn't put a lock on the door
Eddy was 55 when this was filmed. He was at the "peak" of his second career. And in my humble opinion in the period from 1965 through 1980 his voice was the richest and fullest sounding of his entire performing career. May you rest in peace Eddy. You will NEVER be replaced.
I agree absolutely. I like a lot of his material from the 1940s and 50s as well, but he did something remarkable in reviving his career when he was pushing 50, and achieved a kind of artistry that was different from what he had done before. I think some of his best material dates from the mid to late 60s. But actually, I enjoy listening to anything he ever recorded. He was a class act, a true gentleman. Part of an era long gone now. That's sad, isn't it?
Lynn Anderson is 60 now, so she would have been 26-27 here ..... total babe!!!!! Eddy was probably late 40s, early 50s here .... old enough to be Lynn's father. You can tell he enjoyed this gorgeous lady flirting with him.
These are 2 of my favorites! Thank you for making these available treasures to behold. I never met Eddy Arnold, but he always seemed like a family relative. His music always made a stranger feel right at home. And as for Lynn Anderson, my crush on her is still going strong. Thanks for the great music.
I was told by someone who was at the CMA awards in 1982, that Eddy Arnold shed tears of happiness as he inducted Marty Robbins into the Hall of Fame. They were very close and Eddy had a huge influence on Marty.
I never knew this but I'm not surprised. Eddy was a humble, kind and unassuming man. Typical of him to find so much happiness in Marty's induction into the Hall of Fame. Marty was an immense talent and a good man. He was a particular favorite of my Mom's along with Eddy. Mom and I were lucky enough to see Marty live in concert twice a lot of years ago.
My Mom, 86 now herself, loved him too. What a gentleman. Incomparable. I've loved his music since I was in high school forty years ago. His death has had such an effect on us all, and maybe that's his secret. Eddy was the same humble, unassuming man whether onstage or off. An awesome talent and a class act. It seems like we've lost a friend. I guess we have. We'll meet you in heaven one day, Eddy. Thanks for all you gave us, and rest in peace. Mike
I wish she hadn't stopped singing, I don't care how old she is......
No one can beat her, especially at this time (70s) in her career.
Lynn if you ever read these, please "Come Back" to us!!!

Eddy Arnold was country music's greatest entertainer long before Garth Brooks was swinging from ropes.
This was my mother's favorite singer. She would drop to her knees and cry if she knew he died. RIP Marcella and Eddy.
