Memories are made of watching these three with PB (RIP) at several venues in their early days. I truly loved their distinctive and unique sound at an early stage and drew in others who mostly favoured watching them to more well known bands of the time. I have just discovered this posting - thanks a lot -seeing this is so nostalgic for me.
Wow, I can't tell you how happy seeing this vid made me! Thanks so much for posting it. I first met Camel on their Moonmadness Tour, when Doug was still with them. Had great fun with them through subsequent tours; Andrew was always a standup guy (and in my Top 3 guitarists), and Andy an incredible drummer and pretty funny and friendly. Peter was always patient, polite and involved when we spoke; they all were such gents! I'm hoping that this was taped after Andrew's struggles; is this the case?
@UnboundAngel From the looks of it, it was taped in 03, so before the recent downturn and the bone marrow transplant. Latimer is supposedly recovering pretty well, and he did recently contribute some guitar/vocals to an album by David Minasian (who directed a couple of Camel's videos). You can hear a sample of it at watch?v=vqD5TEgOSkY
@OrangePylon Thank you for the update and info :-) Seems like so long since lighting The Hour Candle for him (Andrew). I'm happy to read that he's recovering apace (hopefully) and still working with David, whom I didn't realize had an album out let alone with Andrew on it. And that "new" solo on the DM album in your link, wow... NOBODY emotes the guitar like Andrew, if I can put it that way. He hasn't lost a thing :-) Obv. will have to have the album (hopefully vinyl)!
wow! people forget that the blues jam is where a lot of the rock from the 60's and 70's came from. Jam on. Camel is on of th e most underrated 70's bands.
I remember going to see them play in the greyhound on Fuham palace road in the early days, I always thought the bass player looked like an electrician who had just popped in after finishing work.
Oh God what is this? So different style but at the same time so simple nice to see them together again..Peter Bardens is missed..I'm always fun of their music..
Where did you find this gem! Marvellous. Casual vids of Andrew et al are so hard to come by. Thanks!.
Been listening hard to Camel again lately, I cant fathom how, with different amps and set ups, his tone is always smooth, free of harsh edges, great stuff.
yeah, I'm waiting to see/hear these sessions finished and released! I think this took place when Andrew was living in California - Doug and Andy came out to visit him. But then Andrew became very ill and moved back to England. Now it's seven years later and Andrew has mostly recovered, so maybe/hopefully they can finish this great reunion. Always loved the original Camel!
oh this is the first time i see them again.doug ferguson is fat.andy ward looks much old and andrew latimer doesnt go back...well,it's sad that peter bardens isnt with them!
They might look different, but that's about it :D you can even see their musical body gestures are still the same !!

A relaxed Camel-jam, in an un-Camel genre! Cool to see 'em having some fun!

Nothing like this lineup. Bardens, Latimer, Ferguson, Ward are simply the best.

Super stuff :-) Glad to see Andy Latimer is getting better, lets hope there is an album soon.

Andrew's playing is good, but Andy and Doug are way too subdued.
