  • Does anyone know how to remove the door????

  • umm is it that loud in person?

  • thas sick doode i wanna do that!

  • was it a train horn or the cap opening sound. it looks nice when its closed but it makes very bad noise when opening and closing. doesn't look good after open either, so i dont like it. just my opinion.

  • hehe lazy bastards

  • I am wanting to get that installed on my scion, but i might get an indash video player. I wonder when you turn the car off, if the cover would close on the screen. Or if there was a way you could but a delay on it. and the motor on that kinda makes an annoying sound.

  • were did you get the product to open it like that

  • i think this is pretty cool. It's not something I see everyday. I dont think he did it to make it easier but just for the fact that not too many people have it done

  • that is pretty sick... i'm trying to do that but i don't knw if it works with the 08

  • why are people being so gay a bout this, i think its pretty cool

  • yea everyone is being homosexual about this.. for one, it costs money for something unecessary.. and two, all you gotta do is lose the remote and ur screwed.. or even a malfunction.

  • its not motorized. that guy just motorized his. see the little braille dots around the bottom of it? you just push it and it opens up

  • wierd

  • This is why America is dominated by automatics.

    Laziness.

  • Too bad the car is a stick... Nice try though.

  • Yeah... too bad you'll be stuck in boredom if you can't drive stick. Manual is the way to go...

  • true

  • since you got this cover does it manuallly open too or no? I want to get this to protect my nav head unit, its a smart idea if thieves cant open the door of it... then they would have to smash it and waste more time and risk damaging the headunit itself... then before they realize it they will be spending time in the cell getting raped by a gay named paulie

  • @waabtrick plz stfu...its not laziness if someone chooses auto moron...i have automatic but now i wanna sell my shit and get stick cause my left foot get bored haha

  • lol honestly i dont see what the big deal is. i own a tC and i must say, it doesnt take much effort to manually push the cover open.. esp when ur sitting up front. it opens up faster that way too. all u gotta do is slightly push in and its opens by itself...

  • agreed

  • Ditto.

  • the dual slot navi systems have an ATT function on the volume knob that goes off every time you manually close or open the lid because it presses into the button, which is really annoying. though i think this is a bit much to resolve a problem that can be solved by just pressing the volume button again

  • i think once wouldve done fine.

  • HA! Nice modification! A+

    But video is too long!Ouch!Man!

  • haha thats pretty dope

  • i'm surprised it didn't break after a while...

  • lol

  • wow u did it like a million times we get the fucking point that u put a dumb ass cover over ur crap stereo. that was by far the biggest waist of 50 seconds of my life

  • Your aparentally very obvilous to what is actually going on.

  • Very nice! I'm sure this took a bit of work and time.

As for the nay-sayer..its not the cover he is showing. It is the remote cover opener. The cover is standard on the tC and the car has one of the nicest OEM stereos around. It looks like this is the '06 with Ipod controls...show me another OEM unit with integrated Ipod control, extra aux input, steering wheel control of the HU, compatiblity with both satellite radio services, etc in a car under $25k.

  • I agree.. i own an 07 the only problem is the amp in the oem unit is kinda shitty. It distorts all the time. But as far as the features go, u can't beat it

  • not to throw it in your face dude, cuz i'm not an expert on stereos, but i think the cobalt ss s/c has a nicer stereo. tc has 6 speakers i think and i wanna say the cobalt has 7 or 8. i know it has ipod and other aux imput, steering wheel control, and compatability with satellite radio. costs about 24K fulling loaded too. but yeah no doubt the tc has a nice stereo. very good deal for a car like this. lots more aftermarket support than a cobalt too.

  • I did not look into the Cobalt SS too much, so thank you for that information! I guess I should have said none in the same price range. At ~$17k for an auto tC, you are still about $7k less on price before any incentives, discounts, and any other additions/subtractions on price. Choose the manual and you are another $1k cheaper. Price and the hideous wing scared me away from the SS.

According to Scionlife, these covers are holding up so far.

  • HAHAHA i totally agree!!!

  • the iteam is called Tcover....you can buy it and then install it. Comes with everything you need to install it. I highly recommend reading the instructions online before attempting to do it cause one small mistake can be very vital.

  • yeap! could you tell us how did you do it? I think that should be good point for car show in June 3 in San Diego!

    Thanks! Verry Nive mod!

  • That's pretty cool, would be a perfect place for a all in one touch screen media center and GPS.. :P

I'd like to know how you automated that, or how do you activated it atleast.. I'm guessing some sort of remote control

  • this is AMAZING

  • However very cool, and it would be neat if mine did this, I second the motion that you have WAY too much time on your hands.

    Nice mod though. :o)

  • cool, but kinda pointless...

  • Pointless for the stock radio, yes. But not pointless when I computer goes in there. ;)

  • Fair nuff, added security, never a bad thing

  • cool

  • you have too much time on your hands.
