Fr. Benedict J. Groeschel, C.F.R. is a psychologist who was an acquaintance of Hellen Schucman. He gave a eulogy at her funeral. Fr. Groeschel wrote:
"This woman who had written so eloquently that suffering really did not exist spent the last two years of her life in the blackest psychotic depression I have ever witnessed." [26] Who knows! Maybe that psychotic depression was the result of her awareness of being a hoax.
@loiscoleman Dear Lois Coleman: You state that Fr. Groeschel testified that Hellen Shuchman at her eulogy, that he had seen no one suffer such a psychotic depression as this Course in Miracles woman, and that you think this depression is a result of her being a hoax. I liken this to the story of the Mother Theresa: she admitted to dark periods of atheistic depresion for most of her ministry. Jesus stopped talking to her, she claimed. Maybe these women were just too sensitive to stand it.
@opensourcebuddhism : "Maybe these women were just too sensitive to stand it." I guess in order to be "in tune" with Jesus, one must be insensitive. Yeah...I get it now....LOL!!!
@loiscoleman Well, you may laugh Lois, but one can be sensitive and in tune with Jesus, and one can be sensitive and perceive the bleakness. One can be insensitive and in tune with Jesus right? Just look at Pat Robertson, or look at Richard Dawkins for a science example of this. Don't you think so? Was Nietzsche then, insensitive for writing so brilliantly about the bleakness of life?
I find her teachings very helpful. Loiscoleman has an axe to grind and yes, it is too bad when human suffering trumps spiritual awareness. It has been known to happen, lets face it. But that does not take a way from the beauty and wisdom she shared (for me at least).
Thanks for the video..however, it was Dr. William *Thetford* (not Thelford) who brought the Course into being along with Dr. Helen Shucman. Many thanks~
This is the best ACIM video I've ever seen! And I've seen a lot of them. I even had several of them own my own channel but later took them down because I thought they were not good enough. I am deeply grateful for your contribution.
All is mind, if I change my mind, the world conforms to that change. The problem I encounter is that either somebody or something is not in accord with that view.
this video made the concepts clearer for me. I've studied it for 5 years in groups, but this video made thie readings clearer.

This is a really useful introduction to this wonderful book, but what a pity that the audio is so poor. Is it possible to re-record it?
