He is OBVIOUSLY driving FAR TOO CLOSE, it's such an open stretch of road, NO traffic lights, NO junctions, if he was driving at the proper distance, there would be NO need for the Police driver to use his brakes even ONCE. You just need to EASE OFF THE GAS.
I like the way you move to view the bends up the inside and outside, to see past the vehicles. Nice touch, I do the same, and sometimes use the hole road, in a low gear, looking for the overtake. Keeping well back.
Not what i would call a slick piece of driving from the police vehicle, in fact its shocking for a so called police driver to drive in such a manner. Send a copy to the chief constable along with day and date.........i would.
at around 3.12 minutes the copper is so close to the kerb his wheel trims must have almost caught, the tail gating was wrong too for a person who should know better.
I see nothing that stamping on the brake pedal for 'that dog that ran out' and then claiming millions off the chief constable for whiplash injuries couldn't fix. "We didn't see a dog, sir!", "I'm not surprised, officer. You apparently couldn't see a car stationary in front of you either!"
I can only assume that the driver is a new start and has not completed his general driving course as yet or as someone else stated a support staff driver. Not a good example whoever is driving. Gives the real police drivers a bad name.
I'd give a car in front at least half as much again but as it was a learner i'd have doubled it. The phrase 'who polices the police' comes to mind. This vain young PC needs a couple of years on a bicycle then a safe driving course.
Talk about a danger to the public, very well done Nigel. This must have been a young Cop.Why is he so worried about his hair? Did he forget to pick up his helmet before he got into that slow motor?
The individual driving the car is giving a bad impression of the police as a whole. What would civilians seeing that type of driving think?
I've had a thought that maybe it's a mechanic. Sometimes I see police cars/vans doing near a ton on the dual carriageway and see the driver in a boiler suit!
Unfortunately this is not the first example of bad police driving I have seen. It could hardly be attributed to red mist following a learner, just bad driving. How many times does he touch his brakes where with more space he could have just eased off the accelerator...

Could he arrest himself for inconsiderate driving. The learner should have done an emergency stop...that'd be fun.

Do all Police have to do a driving course or isn't it just the high speed persuit cops?

Just goes to show that they're just as bad as most drivers/riders. No need to hassle that learner.

Yep so you stop and tell them to back off because they are putting you in danger and they say "we know best" and if you dont agree you get arrested
